What's worse: cigar addiction or gambling addiction

Seriously, both addiction is hard to stop and both are worse. I'm a smoker myself that even now that I have a family of my own, I will still sneak out when all are asleep just to have a cigarette break. I'm not losing a ton of money when I smoke though.

Smoking is injurious to your health whereas gambling is injurious to your wealth. I agree that you will not be losing tons of money when you are smoking but I believe your life is worth more than thousands of tons of money. I'm not sure about your awareness about your health because without being healthy you cannot earn any money so tons of money is nothing when comparing against your heath.

Definitely addiction must be a mental illness. This is how a psychological approach is being handled always. Addiction can happen for anything because human nature is always vulnerable to get addicted when loving anything too much; a love may become an addiction over the time.

I like that statement. Even if you have all the money in the world, if your health is degrading, that money can't buy what you just lost with your body.

While I almost agree on you,but the point is gambling can be controlled and may be used just for fun.but what about cigarettes?is the really for fun when your lungs is slowly dying?and your life will soon becomes miserable when you lay because of sickness?then who will suffer? Your family?

Why not just gamble a little and stop smoking?why not use the amount usually allot for smoking to use playing in gambling?if luck turns to you for sure,your life will change

Addiction is when a person starts something and then the body and mind become very needy or dependent..  mild addiction is positive but severe addiction is negative/disease..  it can be said that eating, sport, drinking, sex and sometimes gambling or other hobbies are positive addictions for the body and mind, but if done excessively (severe addiction) it will make the body and mind become bad.

Smoking is indeed dangerous, and all smokers know that. Do they stop after knowing that cigarettes are dangerous? No, they still do it, including me.
Addiction can not be stopped just like gambling or cigarettes, because it is this addiction that makes it unable to stop with words. So just enjoy it while you are still able to do it.

I think gambling addiction is worst than cigar addiction when it comes to financial grounds.  You see, if you are a cigar addict, all you can do is just buy a cigarette and smoke all day, cigarette is cheap so anyone with a decent job can enjoy it without affecting their family budget while when you are a gambling addict, you family budget will automatically compromised because you cannot stop yourself in betting  until you sold all your belongings.  Worst, when stress, gambling can possibly make you develop an addiction to cigar as mean of relaxing yourself.

Both has almost the same effect which is addiction but the difference is that they take something from you once you lose control of yourself. I would say the worse one is the one that you can't control even though you see the reason why you got addicted but still you choose to continue. And I would say that both are dangerous in your life if not treated early or stop early.

Well.. I have to admit that this is a very weird question. It is like asking whether you want to die after being shot by a firing squad, or by getting a lethal injection. Both are bad, and there is no real choice between the two. And there is no point in saying that one of them is less dangerous than the other, because the end result is the same for both.

In my case, I can confidently say that I am neither addicted to tobacco, nor addicted to gambling. So I may not be the best person to give an opinion on this subject. But like I said, both can be bad for you, and you can't have a preference for one over the other. This question is very tricky and the OP is trying to paint gambling addiction in a more favorable color by comparing it with something similar.

Both addiction will be harmful for an individual so no one can conclude that which is more worse because it depends on the situation of people who got addicted but when see the number of people dying every year due to smoking and the cancer the number is huge so its kind of worst in my opinion.

Most of gamblers I do believe do have this both things together where they are smoking while they do gamble.Both things had effects if you

do engage or you're been addicted to it.Getting rid or totally stop from it wouldn't really be achieved on a short period of time which do need some
strong self discipline and control.

You can deal with these things but you should be aware on the things that mainly affected in long term runs.

For who already addicted maybe will be really hard to do it. They will keep try anything to do what they already addicted. Although some people already have no money to do gambling, they will do anything to get money easily. And i just make solution because if cigar not good for health, and gambling is not good for people's money  . But forgive me if it looks like out of topic.

These two dependencies have different damage. Cigar addiction harms your health, and gambling addiction empties your pockets. But I must admit that they are both harmful to you.

In case of cigar I can say yes it’s harmful to your teeth and for your health as well but gambling is not harmful at all if people will remain careful and don’t make mistakes so it will not affect their pocket and people should control their greedy nature to reduce this risk of gambling otherwise gambling does not have any problem to gamble

Gambling brings out the worse in you, you can lose everything in just a short period of time, and you can become miserable and all your health will deteriorate because of depression, while in smoking it will take ten or more years to feel the effect of cigarette addiction, I don't want to have any of these two but gambling can kill you instantly once you lose everything.
