Sorry to shill, but it's context-pertinent in PSU discussions. We're running a sale on the 750W PSUs, down to $55 for a full kit. Those PSUs will reliably source 800W without issue off a 110V line, and can be load-balanced for combined greater outputs (not that that's necessary with this board, great idea with the independent rails by the way).

Looking forward to scrounging up enough coin to fetch one of these boards. I've not done any PC-type watercooling so it'll be an experiment for sure, but it appears to be good hardware.
The server breakout boards look great to me. The only possibly issue I'd see is that some coolers (like the H80i and H100i) use SATA for power, so if you are looking at using those coolers with the server PSUs you might need to come up with a way of powering the pump.

All I've got on hand are molex to SATA adapters, nothing for direct connection without doing some splicing. But I can toss some in the box for Habanero folks that ask for 'em. The worst part about stuff going to SATA is the new power connectors. 4-pin molex were so easy to play with.

They live. Just did a quick test and everything looks good. More details to follow when properly set up.

Thanks for the picture. If you want to try playing around with some things, have the fan pull air through the radiator instead of pushing it through the radiator. This might be system-dependent as I have a feeling more restrictive/higher backpressure radiators benefit more, but I've seen good improvements on a couple different radiators. On the Swiftech H220 I just changed, flipping the fan direction dropped temperatures at the same settings and power draw by 3 degrees C.

Order arrived safely, I hope.  USPS crushed the box pretty good, no obvious damage except for a few bent fan header pins.

Waiting on cooling parts to arrive, and the wife's permission to ditch yardwork for a few hours.   Cheesy

Quick question for Mr. Teal.

I noticed the board has several 4 pin fan clusters.  How much power is available at each of these for fans.  I have a few 3.3A 12V server fans.  Can I power these off the board or should I just use  dedicated power from the supply?  Also how much power is available for the pins labeled pump, since I'm thinking of cutting my H100i SATA power cable and making it fit a 4 pin fan connector.

thanks

USPS Priority my ass... hope this board wasn't damaged too bad in ways you can't see... I can imagine if the pins on the fan header were bent what other parts had undue pressure applied to them.

You'll probably be limited more by the connector on a single fan than anything else, but you should try and keep the total for fans/pumps under 4A or so. The fans are fed from the merging of the four 12V rails through some 5A low-drop diodes. You'll likely get some current sharing between the diodes, but due to the way diodes work at high temperatures it's best to assume a worst case that all the current would go through a single one of the diodes. 50W of cooling should be enough for any normal situation.

If you want to hook up six 250cfm screamers in push-pull across a triple radiator, pumped by a 1/3HP 3300GPH sump pump, you should hook that up direct to the power supply. Wink Also, I want pictures.

I'm using the newest Hashfast minepeon image and am having trouble with it recognizing both boards. In addition, the board thTs recognized hashes then shuts off. Im guessing I need to adjust the pressure of the pump on the chips but am not sure. Any suggestions?

I've never tried the devices on an rPi, but I can't think of a reason the HF image wouldn't work. Can you hop on IRC and I'll see if I can help debug any issues, or PM me? I do have an rPi kicking around here somewhere.

Let me try it with just one.

I just tightened the pump, and now all 8 led's are on. Only 4 were on the first time.

Ok, do not use the HashFast image of MinePeon with a Habanero at this time.

I pulled out an rPi and loaded the HF image, and it gave the same output you are seeing. Do you have "Enable Automatic Software and Firmware Updates from Hashfast"? My best guess right now is that Minepeon overwrote the Habanero firmware with a version of the Hashfast firmware.

Let me confirm this, and we'll get the proper FW back up and running on your cards so you can get to mining.

LOL... Ok, disregard this, paranoia on my part. Note to self, when moving a miner from the office to the TV room, don't hold it by to tubes with the radiator hanging off one end and the board off another. Mine was shutting down immediately due to thermal overload. It is now hashing fine on the HF minepeon image.

No worries, make sure to post or email us if you have any issues. We try and do as much as we can, but there's a whole lot of hardware combinations out there to support and there are a lot that we won't be able to test so if there are teething pains we want to get them resolved as quickly as possible.
