I have an interesting issue that just started on a board:

When plugging in to a controller it looks like the board isn't communicating via USB. However power is flowing because the red LEDs light up... just no communication between the PC and the board.

As an additional data point I can plug the USB cable into a different Hab and the OS sees it immediately.

Could it be a firmware problem? Or a USB chip issue?
If you try plugging it into another board or another computer and running lsusb, do you see the board listed?

Ive tried across several pieces of hardware.
currently I have the board plugged into the same machine that is running another HAB board.

Ive swapped out all the cables and ports and in all cases "board 1" is recognized and runs but "board 2" is not recognized as being there. Board 1 shows up as "M1 Module" in zadig.  The number of USB devices does not change as I add board 2.  I think lsusb is a Linux command... I am all windows here. Zadig should be pretty close to the same for listing USB devices though.

The odd part is that the USB connected LEDs glow when plugged into USB... but there is no communication. Do you guys do paid repair work on these boards by any chance? I bet its something like a challenged USB controller on the board or something similar.

I used to get a similar behavior last year with USB block erupters, sometimes an inactive or "unplugged" USB with the wrong driver was locked to a couple of the USBs.  My machine would even make the device plugged sound, but it would never show up.

I've since gone to linux-only mining controllers, but cleaning up the inactive and hidden devices solved it for me then, maybe an option for you?

http://www.tech-recipes.com/rx/504/how-to-uninstall-hidden-devices-drivers-and-services/

Tried on multiple machines with no success. Even multiple machines that are able to function with a different hab board. There is something going on with the USB communication on the board. Anyone have an idea of how to fix that?

Are you shipping from Europe?

[HABANERO FOR SALE]

I am looking at selling some of my tasty Habaneros (with regret).

Reason is I didn't have time to set all of them up before leaving the location where they are hosted for work and have a few spare.

They have been all tested and haven't been overclocked at all.

They are paired with a Coolermaster Nepton 280L cooler and 1000watt HP Server PSU. Comes with all cables and usb. You just need a controller.

Shipping will be with a reputable courier like Fedex or DHL as I don't want these damaged on the way to you Smiley. Shipping is within 24 hours of receiving payment providing it isn't a weekend then it will go out Monday.

Payment is in BTC and gateway or MrTeal can verify my purchase of 11 Habaneros.

PM me if you are interested.

Didn't get the type of CPU cooling unit he used.

Happy Mining All!

What are your settings and what are you running your mining software on? And how many GH/S are you getting?

On average I'm getting about 670GH/s but it peaks at about 800GH/s.  Running at 900MHz no voltage tuning yet.
Otherwise, I'm running what is recommended in this thread.  I don't remember the exact details.

Right on. 670 at 900 sounds in line with what Ive seen.  My board starts having voltage issues over 875... so I run there and its rock solid. 650 GH/S.

One thing worth noting is the temperature with the conductive thermal paste is around 74C depending on ambient in the room reaches 76C at times which is much better than the 96C I was getting before.

I know GenTarkin and I did the Liquid Metal on the dies and it helped a lot. I am currently running at .970 mV and 900 Mhz and getting 678 GH/S on both of my cards. Temps right now in the middle of the day when it is 93F outside are 97C on both cards. Not sure of the ambient in my home office, but it is at least 80F in there if not more.

Just got a used Habenero, my 4th, and am having trouble getting it going.  Anyone have any suggestions?
Win 7, Dell server psu 750w, Corsair 80i for cooling - but it never gets that far.
PC recognizes the card as M1 like my others, but it still Zombies.  It eventually gets to LIBUSB errors.

EDIT - Problem solved thanks to a smart forum member.

Yeah, liquid pro is amazing on these things guys! =) ... just wanted to reinforce others comments on it!
Ive seen a 15-20C drop from AS5 -> liquid pro alone!
I couldnt believe it at first, I thought all the reports of it were utter bullshit. Never thought a TIM could affect heat transfer that much ... lol

I'm sorry if this was mentioned earlier - I did a little looking and couldn't find it. What are the length and width dimensions of the Habanero boards?

Software Dev has slowed down, though we're still working on it. We have some changes in the dev branch that will get merged over to master and released here in the next week that improve compatibility with server PSUs, and allow cgminer to report the VRM temperature as well.

For new boards, that's pretty much it at this point. We were looking at doing another batch, but aren't able to secure the chips at a reasonable price point that makes it worthwhile pursuing.

Would you have any half working boards(one chip not working) for sale ?
