Hello
Thanks again everyone, and specially to philipma1957 and mikeywith for yours extensive answers, it´s gold to me, I really appreciate you taking the time to clarify my doubts.

Now, i appears in solo.ckpool.org!
https://solo.ckpool.org/users/bc1q3lvrz46pnl8l5snfcxrpu92vd3ncxjqq8vzha4

NEW MINING CONCEPT
I'll try a new concept to raise the hashrate by increasing the odds, so i can improve hashrate by 100.000
I need at least 10 Th/s to increase my solo mining to 10 Th/s x 100.000 = 1000 Exahash/s or 1 Petahash/s

Can someone give me this 10 Th/s this month by connecting as second (bc1q3lvrz46pnl8l5snfcxrpu92vd3ncxjqq8vzha4.2) or third miner (bc1q3lvrz46pnl8l5snfcxrpu92vd3ncxjqq8vzha4.3) to my account this month?

It's a project for school, going well I'd be getting a successful block that month!

Why not use Nicehash.com and rent a little bit of extra hashpower?  It's not too pricey.

Hello, Nicehash does not shows solo.ckpool.org like a SHA256 compatible pool

https://www.nicehash.com/compatible-pools

Thanks, I was able to configure ckpool on Nicehash on port _4334_ for an ASIC difficulty of 50000.
Nicehash Test Ckpool miner Ok!

Now, I need to pass KYC and BTC Positive Balance

Now, I need to pass KYC and BTC Positive Balance[/b]

You don't need to pass any sort of KYC on nicehash, you just need to fill your wallet with funds and then rent the hashrate you want, but keep in mind there are two types of contracts you can buy, fixed and standard, you need to learn the difference between them and then decide what works best for you.

I am happily solomining away on 4.11.1 with my windows PC but I am really struggling with getting it to work with my pi... I have bought powered USB 'hats' but it never seems to find my miners (4 x Newpacs) even with using the same powered hub that works fine with Windows.

Has anybody created a Pi image to install straight from Pi imager?

I have seen preconfigured sdcards on Ebay but for the price they are charging - I am a poor disabled student and don't think my kidneys are worth enough to cover the cost!

I have trawled this forum for suggestions but I think I just make it worse!

A share is a valid hash that your miner finds. Shares have a "difficulty" - if your share's difficulty is higher than the network difficulty, you win and find a block.  Think about difficulty as the number of shares your miner will have to generate before finding a block. Today's difficulty is 28,225,928,151,211 - statistically, if you generate that amount of shares, you'll be likely to find a block. (You can also find a block with only one share, but it's very unlikely.)

Install your Pi OS (assuming Raspbian) following the normal instructions. Then you can follow these steps: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5355470.msg58200639#msg58200639

Those will clone cgminer from github, compile it, and the version in the Ferrari thread will also find and support previous generation Gekko devices.

Many thanks, cgminer is now working.. it now won't see any of my miners. I have a high-power hub plugged into a usb3 port on the pi.

Do 1 new pac and see if it works the hub may not handle 5.

If that does not work go to the new pac thread and ask there.

You mention it works fine in windows with version 4.11.1.

4.9.2 is pretty old, maybe it doesn't support the hardware. Latest build from kano's cgminer, which supports the ferraris, is 4.12.0. It's available here: https://github.com/kanoi/cgminer

And does it go up or down depending on the difficulty of the red one?

oh was that you that found the block with the 9 compac F's? if so, how long were you mining solo before that amazing day? that is incredible!

Yes that was me. I had been mining for a few months with the Compac F's but I was also buying / renting hashpower from Nicehash on and off during that time.

When I ran out of Nicehash's power I just kept my little USB miners on and plugging away. A few days later one of my little usb soldiers hit the lottery.

I was asleep when it happened but I had about 8.45T of USB miners all from Sidehack / Gekkoscience pointed at the pool.

I am still mining here under another btc address and I will be forever grateful to all of those that helped me along this journey.

I am truly lucky.

Hi Sledge0001!

My name is Seb and I have a mining channel on YouTube called Sebs FinTech Channel:
https://www.youtube.com/c/SebsFinTechChannel
(73k subs and 5.7M views for reference)

I'm super interested in your story of hitting a block mining on the USB miners.

I'd love to ask you a few questions about your experience hitting a block and any advice you might have for people wanting to try something similar for a video.

Please let me know if you'd be open to this. We could do it either here through text, do a voice call or video call, whatever you feel most comfortable with and you can remain as anonymous as you like Smiley

Please send me a DM if you're interested.

Best regards,
Seb
