Hi guys. Antminer S9SE firmware MSKMiner.
The screenshot shows that antminer found 2 blocks, do I understand correctly? These blocks were found in the last approximately 8 hours of antminer work. As I understand it, these found blocks went in favor of the MSKMiner firmware developer, since there is no data on these blocks on solo.ckpool.org. If antminer really found these blocks and it was not a bug.

Hey

Your best share is around 1G. No way it hit a BTC block (difficulty around 30T actually).

I think your firmware is shitty and mining DGB. it could even be a lower difficulty coin than DGB, LCC or Devault maybe.

Flash a new firmware, will be my best advice !

EDIT : your line #3 in the POOL section of your screenshot is really really suspicious

There's no "memory" in probabilities.

The chance of finding a block is the same every time (given same difficulty).

The fact that a block was found right now doesn't mean the next one can't be found right after (or even at the same time).

It's like saying the probability of getting a 6 in a dice roll changes if you just got a 6. It doesn't. It's still 1/6 for the next roll as well.

well thanks for the lesson in how PoW mining works lol but while you are correct that the chance of finding a block is the same every time (given same diff), this is precisely the reason you are also wrong. That is not how probability theory works. Your analogy is flawed.

Probability = Number of desired outcomes / Number of possible outcomes.....so in this case, rolling a die and getting a 6 is indeed 1/6

But since the second event is independent of the first (i.e. the outcome of one event has no effect on the probability of the second event), then the formula becomes...

Probability of both = Probability of outcome 1 x Probability of outcome 2.....so actually the chances of a 6 being rolled consecutively are (1/6)(1/6)=1/36

Sorry, class is dismissed now  Grin

No but really, no hard feelings. I love math so believe me, I've thought about stuff like this many times in my life.  Anyhow, with the chance of finding a block in btc mining being so low (without a substantial amount of the network hashrate), the chance of finding two in any short time frame is very very low....but it isn't impossible which is why it does happen from time to time.  Take care my fellow miner!  Cool

Actually you are mistaken, the second formula you have given is the probability of rolling two sixes simultaneously with TWO dice, not rolling a 6 consecutively.

Actually you are mistaken, the second formula you have given is the probability of rolling two sixes simultaneously with TWO dice, not rolling a 6 consecutively.

It's tricky to use probabilities in normal language because there are many possible ways to interpret what a person means.

Let's make it crystal clear continuing the dice analogy:

The probability of rolling a 6 with a dice is 1/6.

The probability of rolling two 6 in a row with one dice, which is the same as rolling two 6 with two dices, is 1/6 * 1/6 (independent events), which is 1/36.

Now, the probability of rolling a second 6 given that the previous roll was a 6, is still 1/6. In the end you still see two 6 rolled in a row, but the probability will be only 1/6 because the other event already happened or has a known outcome. This is different to the scenario where you still don't know the outcome of the two rolls, in which case the probability of it happening is 1/36.

This concept has even been used as a joke:

A famous statistician would never travel by airplane, because he had studied air travel and estimated the probability of there being a bomb on any given flight was 1 in a million, and he was not prepared to accept these odds.
One day a colleague met him at a conference far from home. "How did you get here, by train?"
"No, I flew"
"What about your the possibiltiy of a bomb?"
Well, I began thinking that if the odds of one bomb are 1:million, then the odds of TWO bombs are (1/1,000,000) x (1/1,000,000). This is a very, very small probability, which I can accept. So, now I bring my own bomb along!"

Yay, someone posting about statistics who seems to know what they are talking about.
Strange how rare that is around here.

It's true you can also use that formula for rolling two dice simultaneously. The important thing to understand is that each roll of a die is an independent event. One outcome has no effect on the outcome of the other die. That's true if you roll them simultaneously (not counting if the dice bounce off each other) or consecutively.

Another way to look at it is say you roll the dice simultaneously and one stops rolling just a fraction of a second after the other. I suppose one could see this as two consecutive rolls.

Regardless if that last part makes sense lol the fact remains that rolling two 6's back to back has a 1/36 chance of happening.

Lol now that is funny hahaha i love it! Never heard that one before.
Anyhow, thanks for breaking it down like that....I think that will explain it to people a little better than what I put. But at least we can agree on the end results. I do hope you know I was being silly with the rest of it. Take care sha256'er  Wink

Ah yes indeed...you can just tell by the way he wrote that he does know what he's talking about lol and even though I didn't have a clue what I was saying...the fact that he is right means by default, I was right too! and since that means he knows what he's talking about then by association, that means I knew what I was talking about too! wow what a paradox  Grin Grin so now I guess I should thank you for the compliments too, so thank you ser lol jk and I loved the joke too btw

Hey friends! Anyone having issues with CKPool? on my way home from work this evening I went to check the status of my solo miners via the ckpool url / user / my wallet address (as per usual...) and I am unable to get any sort of response from solo.ckpool.org

*UPDATE* It's fixed. Not sure what happened - for roughly 45 minutes I wasn't able to get on - looking at CGMiner everything looks normal, just couldn't actually get to solo.ckpool.org on my phone nor any of my computers. Weird!

Planing next round of Blockparty Run number 23

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Hello all,

let's go to the next group buy from Hashingpower.

As already requested by some forum users I put a new group buy for solo mining. Start at the earliest after the next diff reduction.

~15-18 users for each 0.01 BTC can participate. A higher number is not useful, otherwise a possible profit will be much too small.
If smaller amounts than the minimum amount are allowed in a single case, then the calculation of the rewards will be based on the amount of BTC deposited.
Hashingpower is rented on Nicehash and shot on the solo pool.
The status of the group run can be observed during the runtime via the Live View link.
Here you can see what our hashingpower is and what our highest share / bestshare is.

If a block is found, the reward will be paid out to the participants.

Lets go and let us find a block

In the past we had found 9 blocks --> 188 BTC!
Block list: 385022, 394940, 394946, 395087, 396941, 399709, 401934, 706369, 712217

Those who want to participate send their BTC to the following address 3KWE8HcunSfvfNBy3CdXZdQ2HyvierBxeT and post their participation with the following template:

Please send your coins only if there is still a place available.

Again two people have sent coins although they had no space. The effort to manage this increases and increases.
FROM NOW I CONSIDER EVERY TX SENT WITHOUT HAVING A PLACE AS MY PERSONAL DONATION.
If you are unsure, ask first!

To make it a little easier in the new year, I've decided to do the reservations differently.
In the new year there are reservations possible for people who pay for 2, 5, 10, ... block party runs in front.
If the quota is exhausted, the place will be automatically free and someone else can use the place.

Specifically, we start with the Blockparty Run 2022-1 and if someone sends 20x 0.01 BTC at the first time, he is practically permanent until the Blockparty Run 20.
If someone joins the Blockparty Run 2022-7 and sends 10x 0.01 BTC, he will be a member until Blockparty Run 17.
This simplifies the organization and places are not permanently taken by the same people, unless someone sends 50x 0.01 BTC for the 50 planned Runs.

If we should not create at the end 2022 the Runs, for which someone already paid, the last Run in 2022 all payments are used around longer to run.

Please send reservation amounts only when you read an OK from me!

Oh wow, to put that into context, a single USB Miner, a Compac F, runs at 300GH/s. This shows the difference visually:

Code:
73,580 h/s
vs
300,000,000,000 h/s

And the USB miner is considered to have an extremely low chance to hit a block!
