Hey CK!

It's not a huge deal, but any chance we could get a favicon for the https://solo.ckpool.org/ site? With 10,000 tabs open it's tough to pick it from a group, being generic.

I suppose so, now to figure out what.

Competition time, get people to submit their favicons for CKpool here and we can all vote on the best one.  Grin

Just a bitcoin like bct would be fine, but a CK bitcoin might be cool.

Done. The ck is tiny, but there.

I think you need to add this to the /users/ etc pages for it to show up on the stats listings. If it's there, I might be cached and can't see it yet.

Those are simple file logs so have no html. Only the top page and the GUI stats have the favicon.

I think even a request for a text or logfile will also result in a request for /favicon.ico if it exists.
Though that might get cached if it was 404 in the past and a SHIFT+Reload could help.

At least that's what Firefox browser console tells me.

Hi -CK

Is TLS supported on eusolo.ckpool.org?

I've tried to connect using it but had no luck, so wanted to check if I was wasting my time trying to diagnose it.

Thanks

G.

For mining? No, not on any of the pools. Only the web interfaces.

Yes on mining.

Thanks, that explains why I couldn't get it to work. At least I can stop chasing my own tail now.

Thanks for your help.

Am I misremembering or did we go over 400% pool luck in 2025 or '24?

Soon to be 339% luck for the US pool alone, it's over 450% if you add up the total luck between the three different pools (EU is also over 100%).

109 days and counting since anyone here got a block..

I know random is random, but I'm tired boss. Pls send a small miner the gift of a lifetime today or tomorrow!

It really does make you wonder sometimes doesn't it.

Is random really that random or is it biased toward large miners? I've often asked myself that question but proving it is something else all together.

It matters not which pool you're connected to either and I know I'm reading more into it than there really is but the average value of returned shares has diminished quite a lot in the past 2 years.

My very first miner a measly little CompacF 300GH/s miner used to regularly return values in the 10's of millions and on occasion in the low Billions region as regular as clockwork. These days it struggles to break 10K as a returned value. Something changed somewhere, of that I'm certain and I'm not sure its just the massively inflated diff which is now more than 3x what it was when I first started mining.

I know, clutching at straws, watching static on a TV screen, just another tin-foil hat conspiracy right!? Is it though?!

The odds are increasingly stacked against the home miner, the days of flicking on a stick miner for a month and snatching a block or two are long gone.

Entry level now is in the low 10's TH to even be in with a chance. With energy costs what they are its almost out of reach for most.

Come to think of it, yes. I've noticed that as soon as I start up my ASICs, they only produce excellent diffs and solutions at the very beginning. After that, forget it. I restart them, and the whole thing repeats itself. And the difficulty level at the start is high. I think you're right.

Anyway Smiley Miners are bailing out right now because production costs have already surpassed the BTC price. Smiley I remember this happening in 2018, when BTC crashed from $18,000 to $3,000. But I was mining on an M3 Smiley and then it all paid off right away Smiley

I'm sick of this run of bad luck too. It hurts more because we got used to pretty good luck for a decent run there.
