how about Total Corners instead of yellow cards for one of the next challenges? let's change it up a bit  

Sure, but do a proper job and give me some margins which will work for all the games. 3 choices as usual, ie under 8, 8-11, 12 and more. Not playing corners often so I don't have a feel for it and I am too lazy do do research

If Buwaytress was the only user with double digits points, then I guess it shows how terribly the results have been for those backing the favorites teams.

I was pretty sure I backed most of the favourites too actually, at least, calling the tight games on the home team, or the away team that should have been the favourite. Sociedad away win was pretty obvious too (even though I totally backed Celta to win on the previous match, Aspas and Mina have been pretty slow to get off the mark).

Getting two big results from 2 draws also hurts me internally as I HATE predicting draws but yeah, have been more disciplined with it this season across all leagues... see, even a draw would have put anyone ahead as none of us thought Atletico would get any result other than a win.

I only predict draws if I have a parallel multi bet that I don’t want to hedge but would upset me to lose. Although partly this is also hedging, but in this case I get nothing but points. As you can see in the La Liga pool, this does not work very well for me, since in just a few rounds I dropped almost 10 positions (but got some bitcoins). Although in the Serie A pool, this tactic works a little better, but still here I lost about 10 easy points when everyone got them.

Another disappointing result for Barcelona, but our game wasn't that bad as we had recently. It's diffciult to expect big changes in squad from interim coach, especially considering that we have so many injured players. Now it's most importang thing to survive somehow until international break, especially in Champions league next week and maybe after break we will have new coach already.
Our youngsters didn't played bad, but lac of experience in some moments was obvious. And I think it was one of rare games where L. De jong would be useful. And finally, Dest as winger is awful.

Gavi and Nico were really impressive and I wonder how they'd fare if being able to play under a more versatile manager ?

Aguero getting injured again is another bad news, meaning Barcelona most likely wouldn't be able to depend on his fitness, the injury list for Barcelona is getting bigger, Fati who's barely got back and Dembele who has never got back 🤔

Yeah I'm using these prediction pools to "hedge" my actual betting so if I lose money I'm not too disappointed. But still, actually predicting draws goes against my instinct. And yet again, Barca proved that the draws would have been a good strategy in these tight games (imagine saying Barca-Alaves would be tight just a season ago!).

Yeah Dembele is the saddest of all those names for me, other than Fati who lost almost one whole season in this most important stage of his development.

Aguero's injury seems to be compounded too by some heart issue, so we really shouldn't play him again and just assume he's not going to be available.

Good thing our youngsters are playing without fear.

Watched the livescore text updates for Getafe-Espanyol. Only 3 goals but 11 yellow cards in the whole game and get this: 17 corners in the game.

Don't know how often this happens in La Liga but I can't even remember the last time I saw 10 cards without a red... This would have been a massive 31-point Soccer Blackjack heh.

Granda destroyed Levante in the end, really did not see that one coming, was expecting a scoring draw like 1:1. Even had a late ticket with both to score where all other games passed in the end but Levante ruined my combo. Did not watch the match but I am blaming Soldado, he should still be good enough to put one goal past Granada.

We continue with CL matches tomorrow, moment of truth for Barca. They need a win against Kyiv for a fighting chance of progressing trough.

I like to watch city derby, no matter which city is in, and Betis and Sevilla derby is a good one, although Sevilla has much more success in it (won almost half matches throughout history)

and one more city derby this week, probably most interesting, in EPL, United and City are playing Saturday

A LOT of hassle to travel to UK now, and I actually am the easiest. I saw how impossibly annoying it is for people from other lists and/or having different vaccination issues. It really is like they don't want anyone to come visit.

Barca survive with Fati (again). But just caught sight of news of Dembele injured (again). I didn't even realise he was ever back, thought he's permanently injured. Feel really sad for these guys.

Heh heh yeah I love crying on first world problems!

To be 100% honest also, I do wish this comes in different circumstances -- and as I said, it was a bit difficult with all the PITA things to do, some of them new to me also, but I'm aware it's much more difficult for a lot of others. I'm "lucky" to be in a country with all the things recognised abroad but my family back home all can't travel if they wanted to, it's really bad over there.

And yeah, for me I work remote so worse case scenario I am inconvenienced but for my partner if we somehow end up with quarantine it would be quite difficult to work it out for her boss.

Anyway, promise to share pictures, and will be "sad" I can't watch other games. I'll cry into the beers at Emirates...

Barca are pretty bad right now, but Celta Vigo are 10x worse despite the favorable H2H at home that you mentioned, so i wouldn't blame anyone going for Barca to win in their bet slips, that's gonna be my pick in our pool
