Ok guys, i've saved this coin one last time. I'm all for helping out charity, but if it doesn't stay above trading volume, it will be removed next time Thanks, Richie@bittrex Thank you Richie, very honorable of you & let's hope anyone following WATER understands if that time comes. I my self have somewhat been blinded by all the FUD around delisting coins in the past, but it's business & you can't risk business over lack of community (maybe when there was only 100 coins, but not 1000's & more everyday it seems). It's not easy to run some of these applications 24/7/365, let alone servers with many of them & as a builder of well over a decade, thank you again for a great exchange. As I have watched the hard work from day one of Bittrex, as well as many exchanges that have been abandon or hack & many take for granted the ones that work day / night to keep a great platform. Let's hope Do a Bit of Good is still supporting this, as I have donated everything I had & am moving on to ones that are still active in charity (unless by surprise a community or developer shows up, only a hardware guy & not able to do much alone). Anyway, enough with the sob story & 1000's of failed tests // Out of all this, if even one or two really make it to change the world of charity (as well as many other usages of the blockchain). Then it will be worth it, change isn't easy & sometimes looks hopeless THANK YOU for your most generous donations -- Do a Bit of Good has never "cashed in" any of it's donations on the open market. Our primary internal "score-keeping" coin is of course GIVE which we continue to actively develop. We're waiting for the final for our 501.3c approval -- we already have non-profit status in Minnesota through our "Strength in Numbers Foundation". We are still very committed to WATER -- and will continue to host it -- and may pick up development enhancements on it as we would like to merge GIVE and WATER wallet code bases. If there is an opportunity to create a GIVE:WATER exchange, we'll consider it depending on feedback. -dvd You're welcome, also good to hear & look forward to the Give Water merger (if that opportunity happens). Having watched Clean Water Coin from the start, really like the idea & good it could do. The GiveCoin didn't catch like WATER (there was even an H2O, but could only pick one & two launching @ the same time), thinking that's because it was guided toward endless options of giving (hence the name) & Clean Water Coin more of a certain cause?

From the GIVEcoin FB announcement: https://www.facebook.com/projectgivecoinAfter months of research, coding and testing, we have concluded that it's not feasible to "bolt-on" POS to the existing blockchain that drives GIVE. We have decided to enlist BITTREX to facilitate a COIN EXCHANGE on behalf of Strength in Numbers Foundation. The current plan is to create a genesis block with the original 500M coins designed into the original chain specification (see http://givecoin.io) and then on a pro-rata share basis exchange GIVE for 2GIVE. As of now we're approaching the 250M coins issued point, which means all holders of GIVE would receive a 2:1 split on their current holdings. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We're considering leveraging the last CleanWaterCoin wallet build as the new GIVE wallet since it has a charities tab built in -- we would pull a digitally signed list off of the https://doabitofgood.com site to populate that list. Then the plan is to enforce a minimum 1% donation with all send transactions from a pulldown from that list. Is there ANY appetite here to bring WATER along?

Any news? what exchange?
Strength in Numbers Foundation, a digital non-profit trust, and source of the Mac version of the CWC wallet has proposed merging WATER with the GIVEcoin chain. We have asked Bittrex to extend trading of GIVE until December 31st, 2015 after which they have been asked to facilitate an equitable conversion of GIVE 1.0 to GIVE 2.0 which is based on the CWC wallet and a rebooted chain to be completed in Q1 of 2016. You're encouraged to follow us on Twitter @Give_Coin or better yet on Facebook ( https://www.facebook.com/projectgivecoin/) to stay up to date on the progress if this is something you're interested in. There are a few of us hanging on on Skype in a CleanWaterCoin channel as well.

Yes, that is what I'm proposing! Basically we are rebooting GiveCoin because its X11 hashing is not beneficial and the KGW emit function is just broken. Plus we believe that the POS model is more appropriate to a charitable purpose than pure POW. Timeline is Q1/2016 -- first converting all V1 GiveCoin users to V2 -- and then making a proposal for exchanging existing CWC into GiveCoin V2. We are considering adding in a "cause" flag in the blockchain that could be a non-binding "purpose" so that WATER could be designated in the transfer. What we want is to build the community and I think that combining GIVE:WATER would be good for both little groups. Your thoughts?

Maybe you could look into having a “narration” field to hold information about the non-binding “purpose” for designating funds or other meta data in the block chain. There are a few wallets out there like Florin Coin, and Quotient that support this. Quotient XQN is PoS only with a nice wallet that includes private messaging; it might be worth looking at the code. If there are any nodes out there still working the CleanWaterCoin can someone post them? I'd like to get the wallet synced again, I've not been able to connect.

I've asked our devs to cross check/calibrate against Florin & Quotient -- thanks for the heads up there. I'd prefer to use an integer value and maintain a ledger for the coins for easy calculation -- think of it as expressing "sentiment" and we could instantly determine which kind of charity was receiving the most digital love at any given moment. Though I do like the "memo" line thing -- have also thought about adding in an "exchanged" decimal value so that underwriters could take credit for acquiring coins at a specific value. Our vision for empowering a "virtuous cycle in charitable giving" involves having non-profits post their coins like items in a silent auction -- winning bidder (an underwriter) gets the coins and the charity gets the cash -- the underwriter is then encouraged to re-donate their coins to any charity of their choice for someone else to bid/buy. That is what real karma would look like imho. -dvd

Strength in Numbers Foundation, home to https://doabitofgood.com and long-time supporter of WATER through our use and building of the Mac client... Announces that the initial design document and value proposition for it's migration of Givecoin v1 to 2GiveCoin has been published in a white paper found here: http://bit.ly/2GiveCoinComments are welcome! I would like to invite the WATER community to consider an offer to 'merge' chains through a coinswap, based on some equitable ratio TBD. The only other solution that we are willing to entertain is exploring the addition of an AUXPOW support in WATER that would allow the chain to be merge-mined along with 2GIVE, however from our perspective it's really not worth the time and energy to upgrade the WATER wallets to support it. We will be exploring the addition of side-chains in 2016. Thank you for your time and consideration! -dvd

From https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=741714.0The beta testing period is coming to an end. You can still download and look at the new wallets at: http://givecoin.io/downloadIf you fire it up and post your Give* address here, we'll send you 1,000 beta coins from the 100K test chain we created so that you can play around with the client. We are waiting on Bittrex now to get the swap scheduled -- the final chain is being rebooted this weekend and all beta testers will be rewarded for their help <3 I've chatted with Zach a bit and he's supportive of getting a WATER:2GIVE exchange path online. I'm talking with an Australian firm that could handle it for us. Will share details when they firm up. -dvd

Now that 2GIVE has been successfully launched we'd like to invite all WATER holders to consider swapping coins over!! Right now you can get a one (1) 2GIVE coin for every hundred (100) WATER you send to Strength in Numbers Foundation. All you have to do is download the 2GIVE wallet: http://2Give.Info/#downloadGenerate a custom Give* address and sync with the network. Then PM me with your Give* address and I'll generate a WATER address for you to send your coins to -- once your coins are confirmed I will send the corresponding 2GIVE to your address. It's just that simple! I look forward to having you joining us as a 2GIVE stakeholder! Sincerely, David V Duccini Executive Director Strength In Numbers Foundation A non-profit digital trust PS: you can "addnode=204.246.68.172" to get connected to the network
