It looks like Monaco's glory days might be coming to an end. They started the season very well, even managing to beat strong opponents like PSG and Lens; it seemed like they would be title contenders and easily defeat their rivals, but today's result was disastrous for Monaco. Toulouse isn't having the best start to the season, but since they aren't fighting for the title and currently sit in 13th place, it’s not a major issue. They came into this match with only one win in their last four games though, to be fair, they had only lost once in that span. Given that Monaco had won only one of the last two meetings between the sides, a draw was a distinct possibility, so that part didn't surprise me much. What did surprise me was this: Monaco had scored two goals by the 38th minute. That’s a very comfortable cushion, especially considering they hadn't conceded any goals; it practically guaranteed a Monaco victory. But Monaco went on to concede two goals, and from the 60th minute onwards, they couldn't find a winner. In other words, they didn't score a single goal in the entire second half. Their record over the last five games stands at two draws and three wins. With this kind of performance, they won't be fighting for the title especially since PSG won their match and is now just three points behind them. Dropping points at home is a bad sign, and Monaco's next match is an away game against an opponent that is performing better than Toulouse.

Who told you that Paris Saint Germaine doesn't mind losing the French Ligue 1? Remember they struggled in their opening league games of last season but still ended up winning it. They know they have all it takes to return to top spot, I think they'll return to top spot.
Even without Ousmane Dembele, I think they'll still win their game tomorrow against Le Mans. Some of their star players will not be starting tomorrow after their involvement in the just concluded international break.
Undoubtedly for Paris Saint-Germain the championship is something taken for granted. Consequently it is a team that aims for something more, such as the possibility of winning a third consecutive Champions League rather than a championship in which other teams of lower value compete with which to reach the top with less difficulty.

One thing I know for sure is that this is French league one, and no matter how things look bad for PSG now, they will still have a way of turning things around and securing victory in their games, and might still end up winning the league like they always do. This is why the Premier league is different from the other leagues, because in the EPL, it demands that you kick-off the season with points and winning all your games, if you fall behind, you will definitely not be able to lift the trophy because other teams will overtake you.
I believe that Paris Saint-Germain have understood that the situation in the league is not the best, but that they still have time to change their strategy to be able to regain their place at the top of the table and that they will use this strategy shortly, we will see in the next few days.

The renowned writer, trader, and philosopher Nassim Taleb believed that finding "black swans" is the most promising strategy in gambling. I don't believe Le Mans can beat Paris Saint-Germain, but a draw is much more likely...
I think Paris Saint-Germain will conserve their energy before the decisive match against Manchester City. Le Mans' coach, for his part, will do everything possible to organize a strong defense and deny Paris Saint-Germain a single chance to score. The likelihood of a draw, in my opinion, is high enough to warrant a risky bet.⚽
I don't see it as a very exaggerated bet, in the sense that there is still some possibility of success, because if Mans faces Paris Saint-Germain with the confidence that they are facing a team in crisis, then something positive could also come out of it. It would be very funny if he even managed to find victory.

The point gap in the French league is narrowing. While Paris Saint-Germain won, Monaco drew. We all expect Paris Saint-Germain to win the league in the long run anyway. Monaco has started dropping points if they lose a few more, Paris Saint-Germain could reclaim the top spot. Once PSG takes the lead, they rarely relinquish it and would likely hold onto it until the end of the season. The players have started the season strongly following the international break. Now, the Champions League matches are next target.

Luis Enrique is out again for his usual business again, I knew he was going to stick to this especially when he went on to purchase some new players to be added to his already deadly squad. His going to use some specific players for the league and other ones for the champions league, I looked at his lineup in the match they played yesterday, you would notice some names missing, check his champions league lineup on Tuesday, you will notice that they would be available. PSG has a second team that most top teams don't even have, I love his tactical approach, same thing his been doing for the past 2 years and no team has been able to stop him in the champions League, let's see how it will end this season again.

Most of those important players just got back from the international duties and would need to rested ahead of the important champions league games, it's not like their league game isn't important but can't risk the fitness of their best players to win a league game they should easily win without featuring them.
So i think giving them few days to rest after running from the international break is a good option, moreover it's an opportunity for other substitute players to be used since the team they're playing against is not a tough. Why are people undermining PSG, is it because of the few games they lost earlier?
The national team matches ended a few days ago and the players have had at least a couple of days, if not more, to rest ahead of the first match played after the national competition. So i don't understand this tiredness that is blamed on the players when they have had all the time to rest.

Look at it from a different point of view, Toulouse want to show that they can give value in the league? Monaco started well and this match means nothing, every match starts and ends in those 90 minutes, it could affect the score at the end of the championship, but at this moment I wouldn't be alarmed about Monaco's performances. Should we perhaps say the same thing about PSG who didn't start the championship well at all, but are feared in the champions? A performance drop in a match is normal, obviously if this happens for a good part of the season then it changes the viewing perspective. The French Championship has attracted me a lot in recent years and this season in particular, where in addition to PSG the other teams are busy, I am more passionate about it.

Well, this is actually the truth. With or without Dembele and Mendes, PSG will win their league. These players have to be fully fit for the Champions League because Manchester City is a tough fixture.
It has nothing to do with the international duties. They were not the only players who went for international duties. The others are back and ready to play for their club. Apparently, Dembele didn't get enough minutes in the international break. he is always substituted in the second half or brought in to have a small minute in the second half if he didn't start for Zidane.
Surely taking away Dembélé, who is a Ballon d'Or winner, and Mendes, who is another excellent element for the team, will significantly weaken the level of the squad. But surely if there is one thing that Paris Saint-Germain doesn't need it is to have other important substitutes, because they have a very long squad of excellent quality.

Apart from Monaco, which drew, Lyon and Paris also lost their matches, only Lille won, and Rennes might win today, as they are facing a weak opponent. But yes, it’s amusing (and disheartening) to watch PSG easily rise back to the top from any depth, simply because the other clubs are completely incapable of maintaining a championship pace. I’m certainly not complaining, since I placed outright bets on PSG to win the title and added to my positions whenever they were struggling, but in terms of the league's suspense, the situation is disappointing.

We saw almost the same picture from PSG last season. They have some problems at the moment, they are trying hard but there are some problems, such as wasting attacking opportunities, new players in the team, injury problems. PSG is among these problems and if they can overcome these problems, then we can see something good from them. It takes some time, if we get some time, then we will definitely see PSG do something good. They have performed well in the last two matches and they have won.
Exactly. Then we talk about Paris Saint-Germain who failed to obtain the necessary points, but we must also consider how many opportunities the Parisian team literally threw away, which would have earned them fundamental points for the ranking. But he's still fine with the fact that the championship is still in its early stages.

This is PSG we are talking about and yes that is true about the bookie but I give you assurance that PSG will absolve the pressure and take it back to them in a different form and like we all know they already lost so many point before going for the break, not being on top of the table is something PSG are not use to so I see them take the rest of the season to another level, no much dropping of point to any weaker team especially and as well making the league much comfortable for themselves to have a free passage to win the title. It must surely happen for PSG to always do what they always do every season unless one team steps up and stop them but for now their next opponent Le Mans have to sit back and enjoy the trashing because there will be no mercy in this game. Enrique has already planned how it will be and the players are all coming with a different energy.
Certainly the fact of not being at the top of the rankings is something that Parisian society does not look favorably on. However, it will give them the necessary morale and the right motivation to play well and obtain the results befitting the team that has last won the Champions League twice.

But he's still fine with the fact that the championship is still in its early stages. Since the points they dropped occurred early in the season, Paris Saint-Germain tends to take the lead as the league nears its conclusion, a time when they demonstrate greater consistency. This is because many teams drop more points during the grueling league schedule as the season winds down, whereas Paris Saint-Germain continues to win consistently in the final weeks. Consequently, we may see PSG take over the top spot as the French league progresses. Monaco remains unbeaten but dropped points again this week.

The national team matches ended a few days ago and the players have had at least a couple of days, if not more, to rest ahead of the first match played after the national competition. So i don't understand this tiredness that is blamed on the players when they have had all the time to rest. Not all players where given that opportunity, it was the suggestion of the manager and team to give Dembélé and Nuno Mendez more resting time after the International break, which was why they weren't featured in yesterday's match. Maybe he's trying to keep them fit and ready more ready to face Manchester City in the champions league or working on their fitness. The coach is the manager of the team, we might not notice what him and his managerial team have noticed about those players that made them grant more resting time to those particular players.

I don't agree with this because playing better in this place earns you a qualification to play in the champions league. If they're taking the championship for granted then they are risking missing the champions league next season. I don't even believe they are deliberately prioritising the champions league over the local championship. PSG is just having a difficult time in the league this season. I like the fact that other teams are stepping up to challenge them this season because it makes the league more interesting to watch. I expected them to keep a cleanshit yesterday by the way but I was disappointed.

Marseille are currently playing away against Troyes. Honestly I thought Marseille would be more active in this match because, if I’m not mistaken, their losing streak has now reached five games in a row, which is far too much for a team like Marseille. Troyes seem like suitable opponents for them to finally end that run. On the other hand, ending the losing streak could also mean getting a draw, which seems quite possible given the way they’re playing. So the question now is whether Marseille can actually win this match or whether it will end in a draw.

PSG got the job done and kudos to them but I don't see any reason to assume that they will casually cruise to the trophy without facing real obstacles because in as much as Le mans lost the game, they actually confirmed what has been evident all along, that PSG has a very sloppy defensive setup in trasition and that was what resulted in them getting a goal out of the match. One thing is clear though, PSG has narrowed the point gap at the top.

Since the start of the season, I've been skeptical about how things will end in ligue 1, even though Monaco have had good results. You know how inconsistent the other teams in ligue 1 can be compared to PSG. I even said earlier that Monaco wouldn't be able to maintain their best form until the end of the season, and yes, PSG would eventually return to the top. So, rather than hoping another team like Monaco can win the ligue 1 title, it would be better to bet on Monaco finishing as runners up.

Paris Saint Germain are the best team, they've been incredible this season, we know the vulnerability of this elite side but with the way the Ligue One is going, Paris Saint Germain will always remain a top side. There's no competition for them in Ligue One because tell me how they're not able to accumulate points and they're losing games but will still manage to bounce back and win games effortlessly? Just explain to me will you? I'm not going to sit here and talk about PSG in Ligue One but you see PSG in the UEFEA Champions League? They're formidable and fierce. They faced elite sides and make sure they handled their opposition properly. This one they're not sleeping because they mean business.

PSG started the season bad but now they are picking up tempo really fast and all of the teams that are above them have to be worried, there is no room for mistakes. Monaco lost points at home against Toulouse and on small games you win the titles not on big ones. Monaco needs to keep their form up if they want to have a shot at the title.
