Because the probability of them entering the top 4 started to increase day by day. I think they will not miss this opportunity.

The performance of Brentford is very low compare to what Liverpool has done in the last 5 matches if we include their friendly matches, they dont have a consistency, however, they have beat some hot teams like Manchester City even when they went to their home, the same Manchester City has beat Liverpool on the same month, I feel Liverpool wouldn't have it easy with this guys, it will likely end with draw because they are having the match in Middlesex, home of Brentford that they will likely protect it, even if they cannot win because of the humiliation they had with Liverpool in the Anfield.

Witnessing match results in EPL games this season is quite shocking. Tottenham Hotspur losing to Aston villa in their first new year game. Disappointing glare on Anthonio Conte face, while Unai Emery bouncing to the premier league with winning points. The spurs ranking 5th on the table, their position is slightly compromise by Liverpool and Manchester united, they need to strive harder in their next game if they want the priority to be in the Top four this season.

I can't really believe that Brentford is winning Liverpool. Because earlier before the match start. I had an argument with a brother that Liverpool will win Brentford and he said Brentford will win Liverpool and from what I am seeing now, I am speechless.

For the ball possession, Liverpool is more than Brentford but both on target and off target shorts, Brentford is leading. Liverpool goalkeeper is good if not they would received more than 3 goals by now. Though this is just the first half, let see what will happen in the second half of the game. the chances were quite striking for Brentford who even controlled 24 percent of possession.
This is really bad, even though Liverpool controlled the game but indeed their attacks were wasted a lot and most of them were in the midfield because it was difficult to penetrate the Brentford defense. But if this continues I think it will be difficult. Liverpool have to work even harder now.

Watching Liverpool lose in a very bad way gets me wondering if the Liverpool team is really prepared to play the EPL this season, very funny to see Wissa score multiple goals but VAR stood strong to cancel his goal finally he scored a fantastic header to give the home team two goals ahead of Liverpool.

Can Liverpool bounce back in this game against Brentford?

Brentford are leading the game 2 0 i wasn't expecting the game to go this way i did think that they will cause trouble to liverpool but they totaly dominated the first half i don't think liverpool can manage a comeback especially the way brentford are playing i think the draw is the best they can do.

Should have been four goals now had two goals not been ruled out for offside. The pressure that this Brentford side brings to games did not reduce even with Tooney not playing for them. Wissa who has been his replacement has been excellent. Liverpool have been outplayed and have not been to handle the set pieces from Brentford. This game will be difficult for Liverpool to recover from certainly because I believe that Brentford will try to get more goals in the second half to make this their win a very memorable one.

This week it wasn't just Chelsea because Tottenham, Manchester City and Newcastle also couldn't play well although Tottenham were the worst in this regard.
But it's quite interesting to see the competition now after these conditions.

I was suprised that Chelsea couldn't win Nottingham, Chelsea scored their first goal in the early minutes of the first half, I was expecting them to score more goals in the match because they dominated the match, but unfortunately Nottingham equalized in the second half of the match and ended the match as draw.
Must of the top club's suprised lot's of people this week, some of them draw their match, why some even lose, most people that gambled this week are going to be affected.

It's hard to see conditions like this but on the other hand this is not the first time this has happened because this is the EPL and even a team that is seen as weak can bite at any time.
Now there may also be another surprise. The first half between Brentford and Liverpool was completely unexpected, Liverpool controlled the game but the result is 2-0 in favor of Brentford now and I think it's quite a shame if Liverpool still lose in the second half later.

Klopp was increasingly panicked at the fact that his team was 2-0 behind Brentford, in the first half Brentford could outperform Liverpool in terms of attack. Klopp will make a change in strategy in the second half to catch up, Liverpool, who dominate possession, must create opportunities to find goals. After seeing what happened in the first half, it's really exciting to wait for the second half to start. Goals will be created again from both teams, especially Liverpool who are catching up.

This is really bad for Liverpool. If they don't try harder in the second half of course it will be a little difficult for them especially with the current 2 goals behind.

Interesting to see the statistics for both teams in this first round

Liverpool are indeed superior in terms of ball possession but seeing the opportunities and goals created by Brentford are of course very good with a defensive strategy and taking advantage of counterattacks.
Liverpool need to change the scheme now with their conditions like this. It has been seen that Liverpool are always late to return to their posts when Brentford counterattacks quickly and in the second half later this must be corrected by Klopp.

This match at first glance looks like it will be won by Liverpool from the inside of the squad owned by Jurgen Klopp. But I do not dare to say that Liverpool's victory is 100%.

What would happen to Liverpool having to lose in the first half with 2 goals like this, and now who doesn't know if they can really get back up after being left behind. The second half will start soon, and I think Liverpool still have a chance to score points in this match.

After lost in the first half 2-0 from Brentford, Liverpool's odds have increased where they are currently @7.50 or @8.0 for the favourites team. Well I'm not sure if this is good but for a draw I have the odds at @4.0.

As I said before, that Brentford has a pretty decent performance, while Liverpool was not at their best. So even though Liverpool dominated the game, they didn't really have a good chance that could become a goal. Brentford is not a big team, but they often play well against big teams. I think Liverpool will definitely play tooth and nail in the second half, but they also can't let their guard down because Brentford has quite a dangerous counterattack.

Brentford look like they are pretty good even without Toney. Liverpool defense is alarming, how did they leave Wissa alone in the box? They should've man marked from the start, every cross was a threat.
I don't think Liverpool can make a comeback here unless they find an early goal in second half. Brentford is controlling the game. Two changes from defense and Naby Keita to the midfield, I don't know how that would impact the game.

The game will be very interesting, we all saw how Brentford played in their last game. I am not sure Liverpool will see Brentford easy to win, I think this game can end up in draws because of how Brentford plays . Brentford is becoming tough now, if Liverpool plays well they can succeed in winning.

Brentford can be sturbbon but Liverpool are very tactical with their attacks. Liverpool has won their last 4 matches which is enough to keep them motivated to win their fifth game in a row. Klopp has done a nice job moving from the middle of the table and now they are finding their way to the top. Liverpool will get a comfortable 2-0 victory here.

Honestly seeing how Liverpool played against Leicester and got both goals from own goals by Leicester defender, I could easily say that their defense and their offense is still a trouble. Their midfield is not that bad, I enjoy the midfield and they are trying their best, and their wings still look to be decent enough as well so there is no problems there.

However, if we are talking about centre backs and their striker positions they are still lacking a lot. Not only they do not have Mane anymore but they do not have Diaz neither which causes a bit problems and Salah hasn't been his usual self this year too and VVD is not that great neither. All these combined, maybe Brentford could win?
