Liverpool will play very well this season but they can only qualify for the top 4. I don't see them winning the league. Liverpool inability to sign a player this summer will affect them, if their ambition is to win the premier league this season. I wouldn't judge Liverpool as title contender yet because their performance against newly promoted Ipswich yesterday wasn't really convincing. We will know Liverpool full strength this season when they face a proper team or a title contending team like Manchester City or Arsenal, Aston Villa included. As for Arsenal if they can avoid those last minute collapsed that has been characterizing their performance for the past two seasons, they have a chance of lifting the league this season, if only Manchester City has a bad season on their own.

I personally don't want to expect too much about Chelsea even though Chelsea is playing at home because basically Chelsea is still in the process of forming with its new coach. Looking at the start X1 of Chelsea line up in today's game there is no debut player in the starting squad, all are on the bench and that's a  wise decision by Enzo Maresca using the old players in the club who have a better understanding about their opponent more than the new players will do. They met twice last season and it was all draws for the two home and away games for both teams so am hopefully looking to see another draw in today's match.

These two teams met in a friendly a few weeks ago. Manchester City won that game 4-2. It was a very good match. I enjoyed watching that game and I hope we will see a similar game again. I hope both teams will play with the same tactics as in the friendly. Chelsea started the season with friendly matches. But they didn't get good results in the friendlies. On the other hand, Manchester City had good results in the friendlies. and won the Community Shield Cup in the pre-season. They start the season with a win. With the quality of the squad, Manchester City is the favorite on paper. I think Manchester City will win this match. Haaland is in great condition. He can make his mark in this match.

Brentford 2-1 Crystal Palace

What an entertaining clash! It was interesting to watch the two sides go head to head against each other. Crystal Palace missed their chances, the own goal from E. Pinnock gave Crystal Palace a lifeline in the game but they relinquished that to Brentford. Brentford did enough to get the most important thing which is 3points against Crystal Palace.

I also expected Oliver Glasner's boys to take three points again from the Bees seeing as from 2022/23 season the both sides have met four times with Crystal palace boasting three wins while Brentford has nothing and just a draw but it looks like they have learnt from their mistakes and buckled up. You could even see how well they were able to perform without Ivan Toney being in action and I must say I commend their doggedness. Despite conceding an own goal, they still strove to win, if it is some other teams , their morale will drop especially as Crystal palace kept on pressing for goals.
 For Crystal, I'd say today's just not their day and more so not Eberechi Eze's own as we saw his beautiful free kick that resulted in a goal get chopped off because of a foul conceded by his teammate. Twice, he came close to getting the lead but the masterful hands of Flekken stopped that from happening.
In all, it was a very interesting game. No dull moments and no one sided performance because the both sides gave as good as they got.

My thoughts on this  match, Chelsea vs Manchester is that fitness-wise Manchester city is not a better of the two teams despite the quality of their squad, City are probably going to struggle today in the midfield mainly with the absence of Rodri who has been of a big impact in city's midfield dominance in their games. A problem with Chelsea which has interplayed in previous games is the ability to take their chances. If only Chelsea can take their chances today against Manchester city it's going to be a game ending in their favour.

I don’t want us to praise the Arsenal team this season so that at the end of the season we won’t panic when the team did not provide even one trophy at the end of the season

Arsenal is a club that I am not always confident about, and I don’t always expect anything from Arsenal every season, even if they are leading on the table. This is another season, and I will say Arsenal fans shouldn’t just raise their hopes this season because the season is just starting. Arsenal played well last season, and I supported people who were saying Arsenal would win the league last season to some extent, but at the end, Manchester City took over the first position from them.
 
Arsenal really has a perfect squad. I just hope this season will be different from previous seasons and they will be able to win at least one trophy this season, and I know the trophy Arsenal will want to win is the Premier League.

Arsenal started the season on a high note winning their first game with a 2nil victory over Wolverhampton. I wouldn’t expect anything less from a team that almost won the league last season. Liverpool and Arsenal are the only clubs in the EPL that can be said to be competing fiercely with Manchester City for the league title. The other big names Chelsea and Manchester United are on a building project for the future. I cannot bet on Arsenal to win the league because even if they are topping the league on the last match day, they might still not win the trophy. It will be nice for Arsenal to have something to show for their efforts this season, the fans deserve it.

I was not surprised by Arsenal's victory last night, because I am sure that seeing the opponents they will face and their previous preparation, the gunners will definitely be able to achieve satisfactory results, it's just that there are some shortcomings that need to be fixed, and I have said many times, there are no goal-hungry stickers at Arsenal at this time, more than that they are ready to be candidates for the title this season.

Ipswich Town 0 - 2 Liverpool FC

It was a very tiring game to watch in the first half in my opinion, Ipswich Town fans celebrated when the first half ended in a draw, they probably thought that with the draw in the first half they were able to deal with Liverpool and were hoping to win or draw. But unfortunately for them in the second half Liverpool improved their performance a lot and caused great danger to the Ipswich Town defense in the 54th minute and 4 minutes later Liverpool could have scored a goal, but Diogo Jota was unlucky, funny thing is that 1 minute later Salah made a good assist for Diogo Jota who scored a goal and 5 minutes later Salah scored the second goal. I laughed a lot at this sequence of events.

Yes. Ipswich Town could not defend in this match and Liverpool football team played excellent in this  match and they won the match one sided. We saw good effort by Liverpool team and that's why they have good position in premier league and have 3rd position in this league while Ipswich Town team  has 18th position in this league.  Liverpool  team players are looking in good form and that's why they have good respect in this league and that is not small thing and they should continue this struggle and they will win this tournament.Liverpool players shots were excellent and their shots were on target and their possession were also more and that's why that won the match easily by 2-0.
