With Altmarket coming soon, I don't feel like Uno really needs more markets, unless they can bring something really unique and special to the communit (China would be very special).
Uno still has a lot of unrealized potential at Bleutrade, with their USD and alternate trade pairs.
Quality over quantity. Anyone buy sell or trade $UNO on ebay or craigslist? If so, what was the experience like? Also, is there some sort of best practices for these kind of transactions? I remember trying to buy bitcoin around $5 and $45 - but was befuddled by the too few avenues of getting them back then. It's much easier today. I want folks to be able to get $UNO for under $5 if they desire to. Ebay is an excellent idea - just trade smaller amounts there. I don't know if there were any takers. On Ebay, you have to have the PayPal payment sent as a gift to a friend, not money sent for goods. That way, there is no charge back. We need to decouple from BTC. One of the main reasons we have had this recent fluctuation is people trying to arb BTC. We need to be more fiat-purchase driven IMO. I like bleutrade and have used it, just not much action there usually. |

Z, did PayPal ever hit you up for being a financial intermediary or money changer? I heard they hit some people with that for seller crypto awhile back... They didn't, but I was only there for two months and I made only a handful of small sells. I think the most I ever sold at one time was in the neighborhood of $10 to $20. I was really only beginning to get into the swing of selling on eBay when the charge backs happened. Maybe it was better that it happened sooner than later - when I might have become more confident and began selling higher amounts. At the time, I was just having fun trying to make words or things like, 0.069 BTC or 0.0666 BTC, etc. Bitcoin was all new for me at that time. I was buying and selling on eBay and then, Coinbase came along. Z |

I have been using my UNO wallet for few weeks, but something happened two days ago. I would not able to sync my wallet, there no block source available. I have try to set a Unobtanium.conf file with all the addnote and turn off the firewall, but it is still not working. Need to use those coin I have right now, dose anyone know how to fix the wallet problem?  can someone advise? |

Manually adding a firewall exception is not necessary but it can't hurt. Having firewall off is a good way to make 100% sure this isn't the problem, at any rate! 2. I recommend backing up your wallet file before you make any further changes. It's located here on Windows systems: C:\Users\DDinC\AppData\Roaming\Unobtanium\wallet.dat 3. Try exiting the wallet completely (unobtanium-qt.exe should not show in your Processes window in the Windows Task Manager) and then renaming your Unobtanium.conf file to Unobtanium.conf.backup - this will make it invisible to the wallet next time you open it but it'll still be there in case you need it back again). 4. Open the wallet and wait 5 minutes. See if it connects to the network. 5. If it still doesn't work, make doubly sure you have a good backup of your wallet.dat file (check byte sizes in Properties window) and then uninstall the Unobtanium client. Delete these two folders entirely: a. C:\Program Files (x86)\Unobtanium b. C:\Users\DDinC\AppData\Roaming\Unobtanium 6. Reinstall the Unobtanium client (latest download is here). This post is made on the assumption you're using Windows Vista, 7, 8 or 10 beta. Please advise if on different system (Win XP, Mac OS, Linux, etc.). Good luck! Let us know how you get on with it. |

Would that be something wrong with my Unobtanium.conf setting? By default in a new installation, there isn't a *.conf file at all! You can create a conf file with a list of nodes or other settings, but out of the box, there isn't one. Two things: 1. after reinstalling (step 6 in my last post), try leaving it for an hour or more. It may find connections and be on its merry way. 2. if you've waited a while and there's still no action, exit the wallet and then create a conf file as outlined at the bottom of the first post of this thread:  If you want to try solo mining Unobtanium, or if you are having any problems connecting to the network, enter the below text into your Unobtanium.conf file. To find Unobtanium.conf in Windows, start Internet Explorer, then paste this into your browser: %AppData%\Unobtanium Edit the file Unobtanium.conf and paste in the text below, making the appropriate edits where noted. If you do not find Unobtanium.conf, you'll need to create one by right clicking in the folder > new > text document. rpcuser=user (change to something else)
