UNO is a survivor. Coinex. Mintpal. Allcrypt. Cryptsy. We will absorb and survive this, too.

Anyone still think there has been no real movement on Bittrex since 04/10/2016 07:25:15 PM? *halted* I'm assuming that Bittrex froze the account until more information becomes available. It would probably be illegal for them not to, it would be knowingly violating basically every rule that KYC & AML laws are there to enforce. Even besides that, it would be the morally wrong thing to do & bad for their reputation. Those funds aren't going anywhere until Bittrex is told where to send them (maybe in-person) by a verified government official. Or maybe we're all wrong & the courts thought Bittrex would be the safest place to store the funds You can never be too sure in this wild world of crypto.

The dumping probably wasn't even due directly to the Cryptsy coins. It's at 15,077 now, & the Cryptsy wallet was 15,072, so they haven't sold any & I guess the thief already had a Bittrex account with 5 UNO in it. Maybe somebody else dumped since all other alts were dropping today &/or they saw the Cryptsy funds moved to Bittrex.
Congrats to the lucky individuals who got UNO at 0.0043-0.006. I guess I'll move some more bitcoin there until this is resolved, this thief is clearly reckless, if he sells it down to 1 satoshi & I had no buy orders up I'd be upset.
I think it was 15200 deposited and 133 sold already. Most of the dump probably is from people anticipating the 15k coming to town. I also think most sellorders on 0.0062 are from that account. Just my 2 cents wild guess. Can't wait for this cancer of a wallet to be distributed! The sooner, the better.

Ahh, you're right Balu2, they have 123 less in that account than they moved over today.
Funds moved at 9:36:47, dumping started at 9:53:37, just enough time for the necessary confirmations. ~102 coins sold within 1 second, they just did a single market order dump.
It's not clear if they already had funds in their account before depositing today or when the other ~21 coins were sold, but the more extensive dumping occurred between 6 & 8 hours later, so you're probably right, people sold as they noticed the situation.
I would imagine that Bittrex would have removed any orders placed by that account when freezing it (though I haven't gotten official word that they have frozen it, them telling F.K. & I that they were aware of the situation implies that they did). So I don't think the 0.0062 asks are from our culprit.

If you look on chain the bittrex account trying to sell that had 25 uno deposited on 7th of march. That's before Sallah took posession. So it's almost impossible for this account to belong to Sallah. https://chainz.cryptoid.info/uno/address.dws?205679.htmVern vanished in China, eh?

But Vern made a mistake. The Uran-wallet was created after the "hack", so the alledged "hacker" wouldn't have the privkeys unless he was hacked afterwards again but that's not what his story was.
To me it's very clear this should be with high probability Vern. He's got the privkeys. Why wouldn't he try to sell the coins and claim "the hacker" did it?
Well, if our gaylord Vern reads this: Vern, you fucked it up! You were too greedy again! Sucks being you! They're gonna get you! You can't travel now.

Wow, Balu2 that makes so much sense! Let's use this to get some attention, it's tantalizing. Tag cypto-news accounts & stuff, there's lots of bitcoin retweet news bots with 3,000 followers. Idk if cointelegraph or any other actual websites want to pick it up. https://twitter.com/natmcmolecule/status/719369466237194240https://twitter.com/natmcmolecule/status/719367033893232640Unless you guys think that more attention will scare the thief straight, maybe we want him to continue to act incompetent; but the cat is out of the bag & the UNO is secure Edit: Twitter poll is up, please vote https://twitter.com/natmcmolecule/status/719376897717592064

Is there confirmation from support@bittrex that the wallet has been frozen yet? Or can we expect more of this?

So, I would assume Vern did this also based off the:
A) Length of time that wallet was dormant and exchange was offline B) Fact it never added up with the URAN wallet and his hack explanation C) Wallet never moved to a new address from the time the hack explanation released to this move to Bittrex
It doesn't make sense to move it all in one chunk and do so with malicious intent, though. We'll see how it plays out, but I hope he is caught. Whoever it ends up being.

Whether it was Vern, another Cryptsy employee, a hacker, or the government; that is one of the worst decisions to make. You would have to be truly oblivious about this community & how the medium-sized altcoin markets function. If Vern was just the boating shoes & the signature on some Costa Rican banking documents then it's possible he was that oblivious. but I have the feeling if I combed through his Twitter I would see that he had some knowledge & awareness.
The government is incompetent in either scenario:
(1) They thought by simply having the computer that they had the altcoins secured, allowing Vern or a Cryptsy employee to steal the funds.
(2) They moved the funds to Bittrex for storage & dispersal.
I suppose (2) wouldn't be that unreal if they made a deal with Bittrex to disperse the funds. You'd think that they wouldn't want to trust another exchange, & for $400/hr you'd be able to hire a small programming team to handle it. Really though, there is no way an attorney is going to be able to process hundreds of altcoins, secure them, & redistribute them. Was he appointed a government software engineer for the case? Is there an anti-fraud investigation team combing through the data? Who the hell was entrusted with securing the funds?
Probably the greatest fail would be if it was the original hacker. That would mean that Vern failed to re-secure all funds after the initial hack, the government failed to secure the funds from Vern & the hacker, & the hacker failed to understand that Bittrex would freeze their funds within hours & that buy depth wasn't large enough to handle 15,000 UNO at a reasonable price.
Regardless, we got off really well. This is not just potential crisis averted, but a display of strength, & a confirmation that those damn coins are finally secured.
Honestly at this point I feel better that those coins are with Bittrex than anyone else.
