There was nothing exceptional about what Van Nistelrooy did; the matches he won were games Tang could have won if he had remained in charge, so there was nothing special about him.  They needed someone with first-team managerial experience, and at the time, Amorim was one of Europe's hottest managers.

van Nistelrooy happened to be there when Ten Hag was sacked. Regardless of the results I think he should have been given until the end of the season. With hindsight, it seems to be the case. Of course nobody knew what a disaster Amorim would be but that is part of the learning process.

Can't blame whoever hired Amorim no one saw this coming, I personal thought he was the best choice after seeing what he did at SL. Give him till the end of the season maybe.

When Chelsea hired Maresca, I thought it was a mistake. Apart from getting Chelsea off to a brilliant start this season, he has been a good manager. They stuck with him when they had a difficult start and end to the first season as manager. They had a fantastic pre-season tour too.

Too many upsets this week from Chelsea beating Liverpool to Everton breaking Crystal Palace 18 games unbeaten run.

I was surprised when Everton beat Crystal Palace. As for Chelsea, I thought Liverpool would struggle at Stamford Bridge. Arsenal and Chelsea are now my clear favourites to win the Premier League because Liverpool are no longer playing with the intensity they had last season. I think Manchester City are no longer the same force either, Chelsea and Arsenal are now in the ascendancy.

If we look at this season alone and the league table, Man United isn't doing so badly. They're 6 points behind the leader, which isn't much. The problem is that we look at Man United with the history of the last two seasons, especially the last one, which were a real failure.

Not bad result at all after playing Arsenal, Manchester city and Chelsea and are still 6 pints behind the league leader. Started with tough fixtures.

Guardiola does seem to have his team functioning better since their early form this season, I am not sure he will be able to maintain it. The team already look better with Donnarumma in goal.

Moyes is a decent manager, but I wouldn't say he's 'excellent'.  He's a couple of tiers or more down below the likes of Mourinho during his prime and way below the likes of Klopp.  Moyes simply doesn't have the makings to be great but he could outfox any great manager given the right timing.

That's at any given weekend when the time is right, like when the players are coming home exhausted from international duty...  Could be the right timing to pull the trigger on Moyes.

With hindsight it is clear one of two things should have happened. Either Moyes should have stayed at Everton and rejected Manchester United or he should have been given time to manage Manchester United and not be sacked after 10 months as manager.

Had he stayed at Everton he could have built a team that would have elevated the club. He would have cemented his name in their history books too. I think Everton were on the verge of something big when Moyes was managing them. They had a small budget yet Everton were regularly challenging to end the season inside the top four.

Sacking Moyes after 10 months was a mistake, he should have been given a full season without the players that were leaving in the summer. Had Moyes been allowed to bring his players in, he might have done better in his second season. Since then, Manchester United have been going from manager to manager trying to find success.

It is true that Ferguson was the one that selected Moyes to take over and the board backed that decision but Ferguson was not involved in training sessions or any decision making process that Moyes as manager would make.

They really should have given Moyes more time. He should have been given an opportunity to manage them at least for two seasons. Anyway, that is the past. Moyes is happy at Everton and the Evertonians love having him as their manager.

I think Mourinho was upset that he could not get the players he wanted and when he did get the players, if they did not perform he wanted the club to spend again on replacements. Mourinho wanted to sign Maguire but the club did not sanction it. When Mourinho was sacked, he was replaced by Solskjaer. Later, Manchester United did buy Maguire. Had Mourinho stayed, maybe the club would not have faced problems.

As for Liverpool, they have now lost four consecutive games across all competitions for the first time since 2014. They have to work out a way to stop the decline. I think Arsenal, Manchester City and Chelsea (along with Manchester United) enjoyed watching Liverpool fall.

And wow, just like that and Man City is at the second spot in the league and with just three points behind Arsenal.    I guess Guardiola isn't yet washed then.  Would be funny if he wins the league and wins the UCL.  He prolly should leave it at that and leave the club on a high note.

And def agree with the Mourinho argument.  The club should've helped him get Rui Faria back.  Everything changed when Faria left.

Arsenal are leading the way in the Premier League. Manchester City are in 2nd place after finding form. Liverpool are still in 4th place after suffering defeats therefore they are still in a good position even though they should have more points.

Yes for the past seasons, arsenal always struggle towards the end of the season. Arsenal often have injury crisis during December and January without good replacement but this season they brought in some good players covering the whole wings. Bournemouth takes the second spot and Sunderland of all clubs takes fourth.  Lolol. 

Nobody would've guessed that Bournemouth could improve after Eddie Howe left.  I guess their current manager could go places.  Just don't go to either Man United or Chelsea.  Lmao.

It can be weirder if you follow the Bundesliga too much. That's why PL is the most demanding league, because the 10th team can make you suffer a lot, even though you're a title contender.
Liverpool destroyed a UCL team, only to be completely outplayed by an "average" PL team a few days later. Plus, the "smaller" clubs have an additional motivation to play their best against the big names. It's not like BL, where they go all out against Bayern, intending to concede as few goals as possible.

Playing at 1:0 was very popular in Italy for a while, but it turned out to be a serious problem if teams had a problem scoring goals. Sometimes it just stops, the other teams will adapt to it and end with 0:0, which is not enough.

Liverpool lost another game, it is a difficult time for Slot. Manchester City lost a game they should have maybe drawn. Arsenal won again and are looking comfortable at the moment.
