I think most of us understands that betting with Bitcoin, there's a huge gap of it between the rest of the altcoins. It seems that the majority bet with USD, stable coins and some other altcoins but we'll not use Bitcoin for betting especially the ones that are from our long term holding. The higher the price of Bitcoin, the wanting we want to hold of it longer. But the time will come that it will be easier for us to gamble with Bitcoin when the price becomes higher and we can play with some satoshis on it as long as the amount is tolerable and won't jeopardize the risk of losing our BTC holdings.

My feelings towards gambling with bitcoin are not much different. Considering it a long-term holding makes it very difficult to risk such a valuable asset. Most people seem to prefer stablecoins for gambling and I think that’s the case because Bitcoin feels too precious to be aday-to-day currency much less a casual spender’s currency. With every increase in its price, the urge to hold onto it and treat it as a store of value only gets stronger.

I personally consider gambling with Bitcoin something that is done for fun and not profit. There should be definite boundaries such as using only amounts that will not affect long-term investment goals if lost. Personally, I still recommend holding Bitcoin instead of risking it.
Yeah, we treat Bitcoin as precious and that's why we don't want to spend that much if we've got some alternative coins to be spent. But if we have no option, we won't be gambling all that we've got but we'll still make sure that we have remaining in our stash that's good for long term holding. And those that have a lot to spare with, they have no issues spending their Bitcoins with bets that they prefer and as long as they are going to enjoy it, it won't be a big problem to them because they know what exactly they're doing with it.

Imagine winning $50 and then coming back to see $39 because of a value drop in crypto used; you may think the casino has deducted or tampered with the amount you won.
or when you lose $50 and then coming back after a few months to see you lost $90, lol.
and since the prices keep fluctuating, you can't accurately track how much you are actually gambling with, and that could easily make you gamble with more than you can afford.

😎 If you could rename Bitcoin, what would you call it?
I will call it Kingcoin.
try again, there is already a dead shitcoin with that name Tongue

There are several types of gamblers where some gamble with money according to their ability to lose, some are ready to gamble with everything they have, some gamble with loans, and some gamblers who can even kill someone to manage money for gambling. So whether you can keep your Bitcoins safe despite your gambling habit will depend on which category of gambler you are. But I will say one thing that if someone sells his valuable asset Bitcoin and gambles, it will be the biggest mistake for him. Because if he spends those Bitcoins for some important reason, then even if he spends those Bitcoins, his important work will be successful. But if he sells Bitcoins for gambling, then he will completely lose those Bitcoins without fulfilling any of his needs.

I think most of us did that in the past and still some doing it now, sell some of their bitcoins to gamble. As long as it's just a tolerable amount and they are fine doing that, it won't be a big problem to them and we shouldn't be worrying about them when they've done it. Most casinos now are accepting bitcoin and gambling is one of its usage as a currency so there is no way to stop them. For some, it might be a mistake but those that have done it, we can't remove the happiness in them if they did it on a purpose.

As far as I remember, in the distant past, there were several topics with the title "Another name for Bitcoin", or something similar. Maybe I could look up my comments in those threads and see how I thought back then. But that would be too long a process, and it seems to me that I had the same opinion then as I do now. I doubt I had any suggestions... as Zwei says, it's hard to think of a better name! It's pointless to even think about it...

People knows that Bitcoin is good for investment and not for gambling that's maybe the reason why people always prefer other altcoins or just used USDT because they know that this is more convenient crypto to use for this matter.

The BTC network now has such a low transaction fee that it would be more profitable to use BTC for deposits or withdrawals on gambling platforms than USDT. I think one of the reasons why gamblers still prefer alts more often is that gambling platforms and exchanges often set unreasonably high fees just for BTC transactions.

As far as I know, BetFury's withdrawal fees for Bitcoin are not too high and solely cover the expenses of running the business.

Frankly speaking, I don't care what coin I use to play casino games, because I can win Bitcoin as well as I can lose it. Moreover, I guess that according to user wagering statistics, betting in BTC looks more commendable than betting in altcoins. Cool

😎 If you could rename Bitcoin, what would you call it?

In my opinion, Bitcoin is the euphonious name for any cryptocurrency. In 2009, Satoshi Nakamoto invented the blockchain technology and gave the best name to the first decentralized transaction network, so I consider him a genius. Kiss

If I have to choose something else, I would pick something related to freedom without using freecoin because it isn't free after all, maybe liberty or decentralised coin or universal coin.
I put the initials of these words and I find it already taken by a coin..

Before Bitcoin, there are some other coins and you can discover more about them in Bitcoin prehistory.
From technical developments to projects like Digicash (1989), Cybercash (1994), E-gold (1996), HashCash (1997), Bit-Gold (1998), B-Money (1998), and BitTorrent (2001).
Those prehistoric coins laid foundations for more developments and a first successful digital currency, Bitcoin, with its genesis block mined in 3 January 2009.

I myself feel that Bitcoin is the most appropriate name for Bitcoin, perhaps because it is difficult to find a more appropriate name.

Liberty is not the right name in my opinion because it is the same as one of the online payments that has been closed by the authorities, namely Liberty Reserve.

I myself feel that Bitcoin is the most appropriate name for Bitcoin, perhaps because it is difficult to find a more appropriate name.

Liberty is not the right name in my opinion because it is the same as one of the online payments that has been closed by the authorities, namely Liberty Reserve.

Bestcoin works.  Maybe it is best.

😎 If you could rename Bitcoin, what would you call it?
I actually think the name is very fitting and makes sense. Bits of data are being transferred here and there or if you want, bits of a bigger coin. Although, in the beginning, no one moved bits of a coin. The value was so low that you moved hundreds and thousands of bitcoin per transaction. I doubt I would have done a better job if I needed to name the currency. Maybe something like FreedomCoin, but it doesn't sound right when you say it.

As far as I know, BetFury's withdrawal fees for Bitcoin are not too high and solely cover the expenses of running the business.

I disagree with that. Betfury offers two options to withdraw BTC (fast and slow), and in both options, the withdrawal fee is too high. So for fast withdrawal, they ask for 25k sats(~$23), and for slow withdrawal, they ask for 7,5k(~$7). For comparison, the current BTC network fee is only 2 sats per byte.
The good thing is that Betfury has Cryptoswap, and many other alts are available there with more favorable withdrawal fees.

Bitcoin withdrawal fee are always higher on the centralized platfrom regardless of the fact that mempool isn't congested and you get 1 or 2 sat/vbyte fee there. Also some exchanges and platforms may consolidate withdrawals to save on btc fees, but they don’t always pass the savings to users.

Anyways, i would say that BetFury isn’t the only platform with high BTC withdrawal fees, the gap between their charges and actual network costs is hard to justify.

This could be only hurt if you do tend to make out some small amount withdrawal but if you are trying out to withdraw big ones then you wont care at all but still the fees are indeed high.
Based up on experience about withdrawal fees then the highest fees is on Stake. Based up into the sats/byte on which Betfury have then this is indeed high.
If they do have that internet exchange or swap then conversion to TRX will be the cheapest i suppose.

The bitcoin fee is too high indeed but I wouldn't swap to Tron. I used to do at all the time but since TRX went up so high in price, the fees are also quite high. Last time I converted all my coins I had on Betfury to USDT to withdraw as that had the lowest withdrawal fee. Need to recheck to make sure that is still the case.

nope, TRX is still more expensive at 5 TRX fee compared to some other options on betfury.
i think the cheapest would be USDT on ETH or maybe LTC. the withdraw fee on both is less than $0.1 and you can easily swap them elsewhere for whatever coin you want.

You are right. Surprisingly, USDT erc20 is the cheapest, even better than USDT bep20 (BSc). But to counterbalance this, the minimum cashout on that chain (Ethereum) is $25 compared to $1$ for BEP20. If you compare this to stake.com, the minimum amount as well as the transaction fee is quite low for both erc20 and bep20 USDT. Litecoin (LTC) is also good, but recently, it has taken much more time to get the first confirmation. I usually choose USDT bep 20.

I love Bitcoin!

Well, you may actually be right, but for me personally, I do not prefer to use usdt for gambling because of the possible network fees casinos set for those who are withdrawing bitcoin, and to even say that bitcoin transaction fees have become do low that its better to use bitcoin over usdt, I would say that this completely depends on the exchange and network you are withdrawing usdt from or depositing usdt to..

For example, withdrawing usdt from Binance exchange to any wallet on Binance smart chain is absolutely free of charge, while also withdrawing usdt from Stake casino to any wallet on Binance smart chain network only cost $0.1 in withdrawal fees, this is way more cheaper than transacting in bitcoin, and you even get faster network confirmation too compared to bitcoin.
Bitcoin network fees have stayed low, around 1-5 sat/B, but exchanges, casinos and custody services still charge the same high fees like when the mempool's jammed. No clue why these services don't offer dynamic fees that actually follow mempool activity.

The only place you'll find cheap Bitcoin fees is with self-custody wallets like electrum, sparrow, bitcoin core...

😎 If you could rename Bitcoin, what would you call it?
I can't think of a better name for Bitcoin, that was one of Satoshis' geniuses. Beyond the technical skill and vision to create the world's first decentralized P2P currency without intermediaries, it was precisely in choosing his iconic name that we know to this day.

Honestly, can you even imagine a better logo or font for our beloved Bitcoin?

Ahhh... maybe a cool name could be... Orange Coin (because of that iconic orange logo).

Fun fact: The font in Bitcoin's logo below is Ubuntu Bold Italic.
