I first heard about Bitcoin in 2017 but I didn't invest in BTC directly. At that time, I came across the altcoin bull and the first cryptocurrencies I bought were XLM, XRP, DGB and thanks to these, I earned 10-11 BTC. Then I sold it and bought a car. If I had known it would see these prices 7-8 years later, I would have kept at least 2-3 BTC. This is my only regret and this regret will only pass if the altcoin bull happens again, otherwise it will never pass.

Since 2018, I started to collect every single satoshi and I've been buying and selling Bitcoin a few times throughout the last few years. I made another mistake in 2021 when I moved from Bitcoin to altcoins and started trading on the futures market. Since 2021, I have completely focused on holding and occasional trading and I'm glad I do it very well.

Your story is easily similar to mine, I wasn't lucky enough to convince my parents to buy bitcoin when it was costing around $500 - $700 in 2016, we could easily have had dozens of bitcoins, but today thanks to my efforts, I am more resilient than ever, buying bitcoin whenever the budget allows, persevering in DCA and HODL.

It's because you want to beat the market and do timing in the market for best time and best entry that you will never find. A better strategy that is more helpful but less stressful is Dollar Cost Averaging that can be applied for everyone with traditional DCA. For senior and experienced investors, they can consider Smart DCA strategy but if you don't do it well, you will have headache again.

If you are not experienced enough, don't master psychology of market cycles, and don't want to have headache, just use (traditional) DCA.

It's exactly the same situation, bro. I also discovered Bitcoin at that time in this range but I was a student, I couldn't buy it due to lack of money.
I got some Bitcoin from the faucet, but the price was very low. I would take that money and go to doublers, scam sites, Ponzis. It felt like I was investing.

Today I understand, they were a complete scam. I don't regret not buying Bitcoin at a lower price, I regret that I wasted the little I got  even that on scams.
But I learned from my mistakes. Now I won't make the same mistakes as before.

Close enough experience from each other mate. I used faucet a lot at the time when I was very novice in the forum and Bitcoin in general. I don't regret wasting my time on it back then. For ponzi, I remember avoiding them, I was very careful in any project to invest on it and always checked Bitcointalk before I join. Nevertheless I wasted few funds on some projects that turned scam. Otherwise, I didn't use doubler or unrealistic services because it looked very suspicious.

it was the same for me, when i first heard about bitcoin back in 2016, it was worth $600, i bought 2 bitoins at the time, but ended up loosing it all gambling before the 2017 pump.

regrets are pointless as you said, but you can't help it sometimes.
if i had more money back then and knew even half of what i know now, i could have made a small fortune by now instead of 10~20 years in the future.

This is true for me as well. When I think about it I regret selling the coins much more than I regret for the ones I gambled away. But it's not like a big deal I guess... life goes on, the world is still spinning, and as long as we are alive & well we will find a way to make some "monies".

I am not regret because not buying Bitcoin cheaper because I already bought below $100k. Now, I just waiting how high the price will be so I can decide what to do.
