Why is the person in first place rewarded with a Ledger? Does Ledger sponsor this? No, as far as I can tell. It's just Betnomi (and will be sponsored by CryptioS later on?). Ledger is closed-source and not recommended.

Potentially, unfair too if the other sponsors are doing it for publicity, and then Ledger is getting it for free. However, I absolutely agree, it should be a standard, even if Ledger were willing to sponsor the event, I'd rather not advocate for services or products which aren't open source.

Unfortunately, a lot of these physical prizes often get rejected too, since users aren't willing to give up their personal information to receive them.

Is it that a member is accidentally getting banned because s/he appears to be some banned member or is it that such member is getting around their having had been banned because they are using a VPN or some other method of connecting to the forum?

If there is an accusation of wrong behavior or just information that such member is being "innocently" caught up in some wrong accusations, and surely PowerGlove is still active..

For sure, I am not very familiar with how to use some of the scam, spam or other ways that members might have accounts that are potentially of previously banned members.. or if they might be using services that cause them to be confused with previously banned members.. even though sometimes personality and/or writing pattern (substance) might "give some clues" in terms of if members might have been previously banned or just mistakenly associated with previously banned members.

What is a proxy ban?

This:

When you register, the IP that you used when you submitted the registration form is used to calculate your evilness. The more frequently this IP or its neighbors were banned, the more evil is associated with your account. The amount of evil associated with an IP decays slowly over time, but the amount of evil associated with an account does not. You must pay or be manually whitelisted to enable posting on one of these "banned" accounts.

Proxybans are meant for banned users who create new accounts, but it also hits users who use VPN or Tor.

They're guilty of wanting privacy
I've always felt like the proxyban makes innocent victims, and at least I can do something about it now. Voting them as Discovery of the Year is just the cherry on the cake

Maybe this cherry is golden, if the forum, above all, chooses this member. The case of a probable first ban and the appearance of a second account that has proven its usefulness looks like a clear mistake or accident. PowerGlove didn't look like a rookie from the start, he was very good at knowing who was who. Nevertheless, in spite of everything, more such users are needed.

If you take a look at OP and then click on "Custom" (here):

As far as I see, there are 12 categories and all will have a first, a second and a third place. This means 12 Betnomi Ledgers, 12*12 mBTC + 12*6 mBTC + 12*3mBTC, so a total of 252 mBTC. A pretty big amount, isn't it? Excepting that, don't forget also about the Betnomi recent raffles ([1], [2]) where even more Ledgers were awarded and where those which voted already (inside Bitcointalk Community Awards, of course) could pick two slots.

However I kindly ask you, for being 100% sure, to ask icopress fore specific details about the prizes. All I did above was pure math, like you did as well.

Obviously, while writing my previous post (similar to you too, lol), I did not take into account the fact that, if FTX Drama will win at Fail of the Year section, nobody will know at their door to handle them 12mBTC, right? Same happens for all cases where technically it is impossible to physically offer a prize. I'm talking about nominations like "Luna crash", "CSW", "Bitcoin Pizza Day", "Ethereum merge", "World Cup Qatar" etc.

For obvious reasons, the awards do not apply to such categories as "Fail of the Year" and "Event of the Year".
