Even though they still send me promotional emails lol. That is really sad because I wore their signature I think for 2 years or more, and got such a surprise from them. I remember some users were banner for mysterious reasons as well, and all the time I though it was dur bug (or something of that kind) in duelbits system. Now I dont think like that Cheesy

After years with them, its difficult to just leave and forget them, so I kept monitoring duelbits from time to time. Ive noticed great decrease in number of tournaments lately.
Welcome to the Duelbits banned users club! I was also banned when I tried to withdraw $12.50 and was required to complete KYC if I wanted to receive this huge sum of money from them. I already wrote about this once in the Russian section of the forum, but not here yet.
Naturally, being banned from the site doesn't affect their ability to send us spam or participate in the forum signature campaign.  Smiley

I can guess that the reason of you being banned was wins that you withdrew Cheesy What kind of business is that when if you are losing money Cheesy Their ability to send emails or notifications indeed works strange. Whenever I try to login, I got "request time out message, pls contact support" error message, email notification "You’ve started a new session" even though I am banned.

I am the founder of Duelbits, I don't quite get the situation, can you give me more context so I can look into it. - Joe

Wait, how did you make a deposit without verification? When I try to deposit, I get a message saying that verification is required.

Or had you already completed verification, and now they are asking you to go through it again before withdrawing funds?

What kind of verification is asked when you want to make a deposit? If your account is new (just created), I guess this is email verification instead of KYC verification.
I'm sure most old duelbits users in this forum were able to deposit without KYC verification unless they have just made it mandatory recently.

I believe they just want you to perform a level one verification. That's your name, date of birth, Residential address etc. I remember I did that sometime back and I was able to make deposit afterward. Of course make sure your email address is verified as well.

I'm sure most old duelbits users in this forum were able to deposit without KYC verification unless they have just made it mandatory recently.

I had an old Duelbits account before, but I lost access to it since I didn’t use an email tied to my real identity (which i forgot the email itself)...
Based on my experience though, they never required KYC. I was playing there for almost a year without any issues.

Honestly, I feel like only Stake is really strict when it comes to KYC. Most other casinos are pretty chill about it, unless there’s something that really triggers them to suddenly require verification.

Yes, my account is new. I registered it a few days ago. And I don't know what level of verification is required from me. To find this out, I would need to contact customer support, and I don't have enough motivation to do that yet.

That's true, I've had a Duelbits account for over a year, and the only thing I had to validate was my email. This is a security measure and is present in practically every self-respecting online service (except those that truly don't need the user's email, like privacy-focused swap exchanges).

Most casinos can request KYC at any time, whether due to suspected fraud or simply internal compliance. I'm not a hardcore gambler who deposits large amounts in casinos, so it's up to each individual. But unfortunately, due to legal and regulatory pressures, sooner or later most casinos will increasingly request KYC, I've even seen some casinos asking for information like address before making deposits.

But before that time arrives, we should just enjoy what’s available now. Gone are the days when no-KYC casinos were common. Most platforms already have KYC, some are just less strict or less enforced by regulators, so we still have a bit of room to enjoy. Once KYC becomes universal with a standard policy, I’m afraid the time will come when you’ll need to pass verification first before you can even gamble at all.

It is always good to be aware of risky KYC and importance of privacy that is opposite with KYC but we also have to know that there is less free space without KYC. With time especially with very quick technological developments, governments want to take advantage of modern and efficient technologies in order to control their citizens better.

KYC is one of government's favorite tools and from centralized exchanges to online gambling companies, KYC has become more popularly enforced mandatorily on all users. We will have less and less choices to refuse doing KYC in the future on any online platforms.

There are still casinos that do not enforce KYC yet gamblers can comfortably use their platform without any issues. But the challenge is that you will never know when they will request KYC and what for, which is why it's better to either perform the KYC or be ready to perform it any time it's requested. We are ready heading to the era of regulation so we have to prepare for it.

Yes, this discussion about KYC is something that weighs heavily on us Bitcoiners. Companies have no choice but to impose it on users, some may request a light KYC check even before the user makes their first deposit, and then ask for some documents or proof of income.

However, it's up to each individual to judge who is to blame for this system: are they the companies or the government, with the excuse that it's to combat terrorism and AML? However, this is proving ineffective and is not protecting users who depend on the trustworthiness of services to avoid data leaks.

Most casinos can request KYC at any time, whether due to suspected fraud or simply internal compliance. I'm not a hardcore gambler who deposits large amounts in casinos, so it's up to each individual. But unfortunately, due to legal and regulatory pressures, sooner or later most casinos will increasingly request KYC, I've even seen some casinos asking for information like address before making deposits.
one more thing i noticed is that the bigger the casino is, the stricter they are with KYC/AML (tho there are exceptions). i guess it's because with regulatory pressure, it's easier to go hunt a big fish than waste time/resources on small ones.

right now we have black, gray, and white crypto casinos.
and if i were to make a prediction for the future, the ones in the gray would either be pushed to operate 100% following regulations/laws, or to operate outside of them.

Yes, my account is new. I registered it a few days ago. And I don't know what level of verification is required from me. To find this out, I would need to contact customer support, and I don't have enough motivation to do that yet.

It could just be an email verification. As far as I remember, depositing doesn’t usually require verification. It’s normally on the withdrawal side where they ask for it, whether it’s email or something else. Your account is still new, so I’d suggest contacting support to clear this up. It would also help if this gets clarified properly, so other newbies can understand what’s going on with the current rules.

Well they could be held liable for any amount of unKYCed money transfer so it makes sense that they would want to not risk it... Especially the bigger they are.
The only part about KYC is that it seems easier to do it beforehand and not have the trouble later when you are trying to withdraw.

Who knows, you could need the money much sooner than you think, and being stuck in the KYC process is not going to help.

Personally, I wish there was a better alternative. While I am relatively comfortable with trusting bigger companies than smaller, unknown ones, I would still prefer not to have to give anyone my government-issued documents at all.

I cant really remember what kind of verification is needed before I was able to make my first deposit in my duelbits account years ago but I believe it is not something complicated. It can be email verification or simple level 1 KYC (basic personal information). However, since his account is new and we do not know if duelbits implement something new recently, we can speculate only and it will be good information is he can get the answer from the support about the verification of his account. It reminds me of Stake when there was a time when new accounts should complete level 2 KYC in order to play with deposit while old accounts were still free of KYC.

I am the founder of Duelbits, I don't quite get the situation, can you give me more context so I can look into it. - Joe
Here is my user ID: 08d49258-22b3-5891-ba1c-34af3fc951ed
Context? I think I tried to withdraw referral rewards, but I don't remember exactly.

Or had you already completed verification, and now they are asking you to go through it again before withdrawing funds?
Once upon a time, in the days before endless wars and before presidents started launching tokens to suck liquidity out of the crypto markets, there came a service called Duelbits that required no verification and simply let ordinary mortals enjoy life  Smiley

Yeah, this is also true about crypto exchanges.

Exchanges  usually have no problem to operate without any KYC when they have low trading volume. We have many examples in the forum, such as splash and cce.cash. When they become bigger, like eXch, they get more attention and if they do not change the way they operate they will be shut down.

the same goes to casinos. There are some kyc-free casinos around, but they are all small ones.

No KYC, your funds are locked or blocked. That is the trending policy for casinos in the modern world of gaming. There are some casinos that came up with No KYC policy and those gamblers who like privacy would dived into but at the end, KYC was asked when they win big amount and withdrawing them. It is only a casino that operates in a decentralized way would not ask KYC. All the centralized casinos ask KYC. At the beginning of the registration or with you are withdrawing.
