gambling isnt about memorizing to be profitable but being responsible in gambling is a sure thing that can be done by any gambler . i was once an adict but i said to my self that im stronger than my mind . our minds cant control us or dictate our life but we can get out on an unhealthy habit .

If you're betting based on luck then bet only with little/small amount once or occasionally. You should have the skills and be consistently profitable before you can start betting consistently and with higher amounts.
Bet but don't gamble

betting higher amount wont hurt if you dont do it often . we dont really need a precise skills before we can play gambling and we can still experience to win consistently but its better if we dont try to over gamble just to prove that we can .

The question is can a gambler be responsible?

Well, it's not hard to be responsible as I believe majority of the gamblers are responsible, that's why they are still gambling despite the fact they are losing. Being responsible does not mean you'll win all the time, even if you are a loser as long as you are responsible you'll definitely have no problem in the long run as you are just gambling within your limit.

How do you know that people are losing more in sports betting ? or it is only you who is having bad luck in sports betting. I think in sports betting it is more safe than other gambling games because if you know about the sports there are more chances that you can correctly predict the winner team and win the bet.
The rule of thumb is that only bet on those sports in which you have interest so you know all about the players and current team performances.
Also avoid parlay and other strategies.

Good thing you are able to see your mistakes. In sportsbetting, odds will be the main basis especially if you are not that familiar with the teams or players in a game. But in the aspect of losing more, it has nothing to do with sportsbetting specifically, but to yourself as a gambler. Know and set limits because no matter how huge the odds are, things could go the other way around as expected. There will be times of losses but the amount will still be dependent on your betting habits.

I have a different approach to this. If you do not bet what you cannot afford to lose, you will lose less. Less loss means loss minimized. And wagered bet amount is just the collective total from the first till the last bet we make. If you said it for just one bet, then I think it is the same and if you can afford it to lose, means there is no need of thinking about loss.

Then you will have 99% still available to recover it. Least loss means less risk of losing more and higher chances of gaining it back. Do you bet 100% of your bankroll in 1 bet? Can you afford to lose it?

I did not point out anybody picking random bets, I said that when a gambler bets, he should be in complete senses of what he is betting at. This increases the winning chance more. Some gamblers are addicted to gambling and they bet on anything without any knowledge by making some wild guesses based on luck only.

Satisfaction is very important, then do the right discipline while doing it.

When setting up a decent bankroll, you'll be serious with sports betting.
Let's say a $10 bankroll for 1% per stake, I can't be serious with that as I could lose that $10 in one bet without hurting my emotion.
However, we can try $10,000 which for me a huge amount already for most of us and even if we end up with 50% when we stop, then I guess a profit of $5000 for a period of time is also something that could satisfy us.

What I'm saying is that build a good bankroll first, then apply the simple bankroll management.

This is a good suggestion IMO but this poll will only serve this forum which we can certainly get less than 500 poll voters while in overall we have millions of gamblers, so it could still be irrelevant if we are talking about the overall number, but anyway it could help so see a small picture within the forum only.

I agree with you but Japinat is asking the question to us, users of the section. And as we know most of people are ashamed to admit they are losing. With a poll people remain anonymous so they're less ashamed to admit it.

Mu story is fun enough: My friend told me to start to bet because he had some mysterious guy which gave to him only 100% chance winning games  And you can't believe, but first 8 games it really works ( till know i can't understand why) but later, after such great success the losses were going one each another. And many of my firends lost all their previous profit and some even more (except me, i'm invested in bitcoin  )

So the reason why many people lose their money it's because they listen idiots which pretend to be a good sport analitics.

Yes, I am gambling for fun, although I have my favorite team. But sometimes, when my favorite team plays, I don't place a bet on them. I only enjoy their play. I place the bet whenever I want to place, and that does not depend on the favorite team, but that is because I can get the input for each team or not.

Betting on favorite team is something dangerous imo, it can be something that makes you over confident to bet more because you believe that the favorite will win easily. We have just seen some matches on CL such as Manchester United vs Basaksehir, if someone is a big fan of MU and he placed too much money on MU because it is his favorite team without doing more researches before placing bet then I can call it as a suicide. Dont bet more just because your favorite team is going to play against weak/non favorite team. This kind of action that makes gambler lose more in sports betting.

When you want to bet on the favorite team, you must have input about each team to know how big the percentage for each team and which team that can win. If your favorite team doesn't have a high percentage, you don't have to select them, but you can select the opponent. That is what I did before, and as long as I can get the input and get something from what I research before, I will place the bet for the team, which has a high percentage to win. No you're wrong. If you are a kind of better that usually risk in order to get a desired winnings then probably you will lose more than winning. But if you are making bets of which high chances of winning then you could not lose. If you will just be patient and know when to bet and whe not to bet. However, I believe that mostly profits are on the platforms organizing the bets. They had always profit as fee to create such betting platform but they are not gambling for they only are doing their business.

Bet is only a way to get more fun and excitement and if you will going to count all your losses you will get paranoid to it especially in recovering the loss to which it could result to betting huge and then selling of asset to bet. One of the biggest reason is bankroll management the others mentioned it already and I don't mind saying it again since it's the truth. Sometimes we go for different strategies by increase our bet size and check for live bets. Another reason is the multi bets or parlays there's a lot of people that get a good amount of wins with their parlays but couldn't earn anything from it since they're always a win or two short from the payout.

I'm not one of those mate,because I only Bet when my favorite teams of fighters will Play and at least i have big percentage to win.

Like when i Bet in NFL or Basketball,since i studied about the other teams so i will Bet amount depend on their opponent.
If i found that that other team is Stronger than Mine then i will Bet small amount and doing reverse when my team is advantageous .

Also in Boxing and  MMA as i also studied each fighter then i will only choose in which i think i can win,But of course there is no assurance to win at all but at least we are in advantage.

Analysis is important when it comes to betting, you should not just bet because the standing of the team are more good than the other one. The analysis that you should do is depends on what kind of sports it is. When it comes to basketball and other team sports; individual and team analysis are both important. We should consider the health of every members especially when it comes to basketball, there are times that there are players who are in bad state that resulted to their performance to get bad also. I do not have 100% win rate in sports betting but I have high win rate and it is above 65% so most of my bets are always winning but still losing is inevitable because I considered the risks which is there is no perfect strategy here in sports betting. I also do not go all in; in just one game because it is so risky, imagine you do all in; in your first bet then suddenly the team that you picked lose and of course all of the money that you putted in that team will be gone.

Risk management is part of success in sports betting, allocation is should be our main focus when we are betting. I do not also suggests other people to listen to the opinions and predictions of other in different social media platforms because they are just their tips after all and they are not liable if you lose money in sports betting. I tried martingale strategy in sports betting so that I could recover my losses but even I am good in predicting few of sports, I am not finding myself profitable after 10 to 15 attempts. Unfortunately I have forgot to make up my strategy to compete against odds. Yes, finally I have concluded that martingale strategy is not good for sports betting because odds are playing a big role in the final outcome where losses are happening at all our base-bet if my prediction goes wrong.

For example, if my base bet is 0.001BTC and if I lose then my lose will be 0.001BTC and for the next game I need to go for 0.002BTC and if my prediction goes right then I will get 0.0024 BTC for the odds of 1.2 but my total spending so far was 0.003BTC which means martingale is not working exactly in sportsbetting as odds are there as another factor.
