What a wonderful night for Leicester city I think the premier league road is clear for them, because they are topping the championship table with 4 points away from Leeds united so I didn't think they are going to give any chance for any clubs again to defeat them as long as championship is consign.

The match was very bad for Southampton. There was no one attempted shot or goal by Southampton. This has not spoken good for Southampton for receiving 5 goals at a time. I was really expecting them to do well in the 2nd half of the match since they received one goal in the first half and it was like they played the worst game in the second half. And if you look the analysis of the game, Southampton controlled the Ball more than their opponent and I don't know why they received goals of 5.

There are things that could make them to receive such number of goals. And the none is the defend. If the defend is weak then you received enough goals and the keep. If the keep is not good then you suffer set back. And Also Chelsea faced these the same two things in their match.

This is embarrassing defeat for the Southampton because no one were expecting performance like this from them at this stage of the season while they were looking good and having solid chance of going back into Premier League but now with this lost things are surely going to be against them because they are now badly down in confidence, and they have to regroup themselves for the play-offs which are also coming and having good chance to bring themselves into better position.

Leicester City done impressive job in second half as they have good conversion rate in second half four goals from the four shots mean things are well under their control, and now they need only one point for automatic promotion and most chances they will grab this into their next game which is going to play against Preston on 29th April and last game is also another struggling side Blackburn which is going to give another 3 points.

Hull won like I predicted and it was a real goal fest with total of five goals.
Now Hull is only 3 points below Norwich and play-off zone, and situation in Championship is getting very hot.

We are kicking off EFL Championship Round 45 with one important Friday match QPR vs Leeds.
Leeds is a big favorite in this match and they need to win if they want to keep Premier League dreams alive.
QPR is on the opposite part of the table and they need points to survive in the league, now they are only 4 points above relegation zone.

Drama continues in Championship after most of the matches in Round 45 are finished.
Leeds lost with catastrophic 4:0 against QPR, Saints lost from Stoke, and Ipswich played only 3:3 in very interesting match against Hull City.
Ipswich was leading until 87 minute when Ohio scored a goal for Hull.
They missed a big chance but they still have two matches left and same 90 points like Leeds.
There is still hope for Hull to enter last place in play-off zone.

Leicester now officially qualified for Premier League, but they have two more matches and they need to secure the title.
In Monday they are playing against Preston away from home and they have a chance to finish everything there, or in next match against Blackburn at home.

Before the matches started the standings were like this. Leicester as the champions, Ipswich being so close to the Premier League and Hull City having one last chance for the play-offs...

According to the live results, we can congratulate Ipswich already.    However it looks like Hull City won't be able to use their last chance. Plymouth are also trying not to relegate of course but I was still expecting a better performance by Hull City. There are still around 30 minutes left in the matches though.

It is really exciting to follow the important rivalries right now.

We are now officially finished with regular part of EFL Championship season 2023/2024, and we know two teams that are going in Premier league next season.
Leicester is the first one, they won a title last round so they helped Blackburn to stay in the league by losing from them today.
My favorite team in this season Ipswich has made historic win against Huddersfield and they are back in Premier League after 22 years!
Birmingham, Huddersfield and Rotherham are relegated and they are going down to League One.

Now we are moving to play-off matches with one more team that will join Leicester and Ipswich.
Southampton was better than Leeds today, but this two teams are going to continue battle for Premier League soon.

First leg of play-offs is scheduled for May 12 and second leg for 16 and 17 May.
Final match is on May 26.

^ Ipswich back, yeah! Leeds needed them to lose, but also needed to win, Ipswich will be glad Saints didn't lie down and make it easy even away.

And indeed, as you say, it's the playodds, the most valuable competition in football. It is going to be a big shame though that Leeds or Saints was one I really wanted back too, and both might not make it.
