I am sure that you were less productive at home, compared to working from the office. No one works from home 9 to 17 with a 1 hour lunch break. There are so many things at home that distract from work.

I have worked from home almost a year. I have allowed myself to switch on PC at 9:00, and return to sleep for more 30-60min. Parallel working I watched TV, ate, done other stuff. Such routine lead to me finding it more hard to focus on things and I have gained weight. When I got vaccine and CEO asked people to slowly to return to the office, I was happy and was among first to return. Working from home I totally spoiled my discipline and started to become dumber, as my brain relaxed more than was working, calculating, thinking.

Btw, my expenses were higher when working from home, compared to office. I've upgraded my laptop, spent more on food, bought a game console which I barely used (thanks God I've bought it used), almost bought a bike, spent money on sports accessories (because I though I would work out at home or at the stadium), bought a lot of useless stuff or simply spent more (while shops were closed, and ebay and amazon are so easy to type in browser bar).

but this virus continues to mutate and create new, more infectious variants such as the delta variant. many countries have re-implemented a lockdown because many people have been infected with the delta variant. What I fear is that in the future there will be mutations that will make new types of viruses and current vaccines incapable of dealing with them.

In my country, 2-3 months ago we used to get 10-20 new cases per day. But now, as a result of this delta variant the number has increased to four digits. But the worst part is that many of the companies are asking their employees to come to the office. The justification being given is that almost everyone here is vaccinated and even if someone gets infected, then he will recover quickly. I don't agree with this. I personally know a few guys who were hospitalized despite being fully vaccinated. These organizations are making a big mistake.

The world has been hit hard by the Corona epidemic for the last two years. Although some countries in the world have relaxed the lockdown, our country Bangladesh has not completely relaxed the lockdown yet. I don't see a full economic recovery anytime soon. Lockdown measures have been mostly removed, because the vaccination rate has improved. But at the same time, at least a section of the population is going to stay away from outdoor activity for considerable period of time. Those who lost their jobs need to adjust to the changing realities and look for new opportunities. Some of the businesses have been rapid growth during the pandemic period, such as eCommerce and online education. New job opportunities are available with these sectors.

I think coming and working in the office is not the worst part because all employees must have received vaccinations and still apply health protocols when they work. like it or not, we have to slowly return to normal life because this virus will not disappear from the face of the earth.

Speak for yourself and not for others. A few days back, in my office we had a meeting in our office to review the performance of the employees for the last 12 months. My manager noticed an overall increase in the quantity of output, and the quality remained at the same level. If you are unable to focus on your work, or unable to deliver the same volumes, then there may be something wrong at your end. If that is the case, you need to attend the office, as soon as it opens. Good for you but not for us. Pandemic virus of covid 19 made it miserable for us though it's accepted it's virus. But what makes it worst is our government. Corruption is the biggest deal in here. Buying of overpriced medical equipments, wasting of money plus nearly expired vaccines were bought by the government. I don't know what they're thinking  if they have conscience left.They're nearly killing people little by little. Personally, me I didn't loose my job but my parents, brother and husband did. Our business shutdown which makes it hard for us to get along. But what makes it hardest is what the government is doing. Now I am looking at them as the most hardest variant of Covid to defeat. The Covid pandemic seems way much closer to an end (maybe a couple of months max) in countries like Israel or the US than people might suspect. What is more worrying IMO is Europe (including Uk). Let's see how things unfold during autumn/winter in the Northern hemisphere.

I see, even there has been good progress, but although there have been many vaccines conducted by various countries, but have not been able to fight Covid-19 100%.
Moreover, there are still many new covid waves that mutate and rule out various new variants with stronger viruses in several countries. This sometimes becomes very worrying.

In my own country now the implementation of Health Protocol and also vigilance to Covid is still very high. Even in some great holiday annual events have always enforced some kind of activity restrictions and also traveling. This is very easy, especially after almost 2 years have been going on.

Despite that, they are now reporting >2,000 new deaths from COVID every day. The same goes for many other countries which have attained higher rates of vaccination.
