What a race we got, man! It was incredible from the start to the end. The huge accident among many drivers in the first lap already was really shocking to see. Bottas, Leclerc, Stroll, Perez and Norris were out because of the incident. And Verstappen got a hit also unfortunately. He had a big damage on his car and it was not a reparable one in pit. So, he had to race like that if he didn't want to retire the car. And he did his best with this broken car but he was able to finish only as the 10th. At least, he got 1 point which could be really important in terms of the title race. Hamilton made a huge comeback and managed to be on the podium finishing as the 3rd. But Alonso was definitely the driver of the day. He defended Hamilton for many laps incredibly well. Thanks to him, Ocon and Vettel were able to keep their places and Ocon made it! His best placement was being the 2nd before this one and now he won a race! But to be honest, I would like to see Vettel winning this race.

I cant believe people here still defending he, is a mediocre driver and now its goind down mental.
I want Vettel to win but that pitstop cost him the victory.

Totally missed that one but just reading the tweets and live reports was one confusing heck of a game!

Bottas was my outright so killed right off the get go, but I managed to take the 3.8 F1 Special on under 16.5 cars finishing. Hungary proves to be as treacherous as ever but man Ocon taking the course and all podium finishers 12 seconds ahead of the pack? I think Ocon was 80/1 IIRC on one bookie.

^Hamilton winning qualifiers is not really that shocking, dude is 7 time world champion so it is normal that he ends up in pole time to time, we are so used to Max being at pole at this point that we are shocked whenever he is not. He wasn't even second this week, he will start at second line which is why I honestly think that it is not going to be easy for him at all, he may end up passing Bottas as we can all imagine, but Hamilton getting that huge advantage may end up with going on a big lead right after second or third lap, I can see Bottas holding up Max long enough to get Hamilton put like some 5+ second difference, even maybe 10 if he is lucky after third lap, then even if Max passes Bottas, it is not going to be possible to reach to Hamilton after that, which is why I think this race depends on Bottas a lot, and of course if any risky things happen or not.

Amazing race! This one just made the History F1 books because we had so many elements and key factors that made this race unique and most likely it will pass some time until we can see another race like this one.

What should I begin with ? The fact that Bottas was sleeping after start ? The unlucky cars of RedBull who were just in front of Bottas and Norris ? or the other crazy calls like Russel making everyone going to pit-stops and changes tyres , Ocon driving without a single mistake , Lewis comeback race until p3, Vettel who fought all the race in dirty air behind Ocon and the masterpiece of Alonso vs Hamilton who was amazing to watch!

All this factors made the race unique and lovely to watch! Massive congrats to Ocon

Now there is safty car already after the first lap. The cards are reshuffled, but the race already starts badly for Max, no luck for Verstappen and RedBull. So already red flag... And restart later.

Man, that was a heartbreaking race for both the RedBulls and Norris. Man, seeing Seb finishing 2nd and going to the podium makes me really emotional as it kinda reminds me of his glory days in RedBull.

Nevertheless, congratulations to Esteban for winning this Hungarian Grand Prix! He was really consistent on this race and it showed his skill throughout the race. Lastly, the battle between Hamilton and Alonzo was a sight to behold- Alonzo still has it.

I've missed the first 10 laps, when I've turned TV on it looked like a bad dream. I have to see a rerun of the start. It looks like it was... very bad.
Congrats to Ocon, congrats to Seb (although I've read that sadly he got disqualified) and congrats to Alonso too for the very good race.

That was an unexpected race from beginning to end. Well done to those who managed to take Ocon @501x odds and Alpine @251x.
Cause the only way for them to get this kind of result would be from a crash out.

In some rather shocking turn of events it looks like Vettel was disqualified from this race due to not providing a fuel sample at the end.
So Hamilton moved up to second place and 3rd place went to Sainz for Ferrari.

yeah I think Bottas was not totally at fault for the accident as he could be not expected Norris to brake so early infront of him and since he was so close of him he didn't have enough time to react and wanted to take back some of the spots he lost for the bad start he was focused on gaining back his position,
For me Stroll accident with Leclerc should have gone punished since he took him out while he was out of the track and Leclerc was next to him trying to avoid the chaos infront and Stroll just came from the inside and out of the track smash him he could avoided that by Turing that turn while he was outside I don't think he would be blamed for violating track limit since he didn't have anywhere else to go.

I am not a supporter of Max, but we must understand that in the previous race Hamilton risked being left without continuing the race himself and everything would have remained at the same level about the gap in the championship. The same situation is about Bottas ' accident, you need to have a very good prediction of the situation to think that entering one rider can lead to such wonderful consequences for the team. The most disappointing thing is that we were not able to see the Red Bull cars in normal combat conditions, although I, as a relatively outside observer, am pleased to see that there is an intrigue in the championship again, rather than at the beginning of the championship, when it seemed that Mercedes would not be able to present Red Bull at the end of the season.

I can also say that Sainz worked a lot in that race and did everything to keep Hamilton on p3 and keep that podium for himself but if I were to chose a pilot who deserved the podium more than Sainz would be Alonso who drove on his birthday like he was 20 again.

Rules are rules, and it is quite obvious that the rules about fuel were also invented for good reason, because the less fuel in the car, the lighter it is, respectively, and the correspondingly higher speed it can develop on a circle. I am sorry that this happened with Vettel, but the requirements are more or less clear here and it is impossible to refer to the non-obvious wording. It is not entirely clear why Aston Martin was sure that after extracting 300 milliliters of fuel, there should have been another 1.44 liters left in the tank and how they are going to prove this. It's nice that Alonso at this age continues to show a high level of driving a car and it's not for nothing that Fernando was recognized as the driver of the day.

While this might be true, Hamilton' crash with Verstappen should have also been handled differently. If an event has tremendous impact on the race and it is a behavior that needs to be punished, the punishment should be in relation to what the misbehavior by the driver caused to happen. Vettel might have been lighter, therefore faster. But he got fully disqualified. Hamilton kicks out Verstappen, wins the race and probably the championship. 10 seconds penalty. Huh...

I think it would have won without Alonso too but I doubt Vettel would have been on 2nd position as Lewis was coming like a rocket. However, the ego of Alonso made him driving like he was back in 2004 in his Renault and he kept duel Hamilton for his position for more than 6 laps if I remember correctly.

Hm, I don't see that appeal to be ending in a success if there just wasn't enough fuel in the tank. I would be quite surprised because that's just an objective measurement which has to be in conformity with the rules right? If they appeal now, are they seriously appealing that the amount of fuel was measured wrongly? Or are they arguing on moral grounds?
