After leaving another good race behind, we are going to watch a new race in Mexico in only one week. And including this race, we are going to watch three races in three weeks consecutively too. And this is just awesome for people like us.    The last laps of the US GP were very exciting and I was like "That's it. Hamilton's just flying and he will get past Verstappen in one of the last laps and win the race.". However, it turned out that Verstappen increased his pace and didn't let such thing happen. We can watch another close competition in this Mexico GP also. Hamilton has to win to prevent the point gap with Verstappen from getting bigger.

By the way, amazing things have been happening lately with cars like Red Bull and Mercedes, when it seems that one team is seriously inferior to the other team in pace before the race, but then miraculously transforms and shows a much better result than it was supposed to I don't want to say anything bad about Mercedes' analytical talents, but this is the first time in a season that Verstappen and Red Bull beat Mercedes thanks to a well-made pit stop or a timely selected tire type. In any case, this once again reminds us that Formula 1 is a technical sport and the technical part of the team is no less important than the drivers of the cars themselves.

I somehow did not pay attention to a Haas F1 team.

Yes, you are right in your every word my friend. Mercedes recently I think made some (I won't say bad decisions ) but less wise decisions regarding pitting compared to Red Bull. Red Bull's pit calls and strategic calls were on point in almost every race recently. In addition to that, Max has got the best support driver with him - Perez, who is also on very good form recently compared to Bottas. This is a big reason Hamilton has been finding it hard to compete with Max. But there are only 4 races left in the year if I'm not wrong, and the question is can Hamilton still win the championship or will Max steal it from him?

I think a lot of the results depend on how Bottas does in the race. Because Max and Hamilton are the two best drivers no cap. And Perez has recently been the best 2nd man on the whole track to Max which is helping him win the races. So if Bottas can perform well, Hamilton will have a good chance to win but if he doesn't, Max wins again in my opinion.

Exactly this weekend it's that time again and the Grand Prix of Mexico finally takes place again after a year's break. Even though Mercedes won last time, I think RedBull has a slight advantage on this track and Verstappen is my favorite to win. The straights are not so long and Mercedes can not use the advantage of lowering the rear axles as usual.

Fancy a Sergio Perez win? At 12.00x odds it is very tempting.

Actually, I'm thinking of placing a bet on Sergio Perez to win but I've not made up my mind yet. But the odd is really attractive for me so maybe I can put some money on it even if it is not a big amount. I've seen an interview with Perez which they asked Perez whether he would make way for Verstappen. He didn't say a clear thing actually but he said that he would obey the decisions of the team. But it wouldn't be bad to see him winning his home GP.

Why do many think Perez will win his home Grand Prix? If Verstappen is behind him he will let him pass, Perez's task in Mexico is to be in front of Hamilton, I think a win for Perez is only possible if Verstappen makes a mistake or falls out.

Some qualifying race today.
The main takeaway for me was when Max called the two guys(I think one of them was his partner Perez) who were tangled up with each other in a corner and he was just passing them calling one of them an idiot. Because it made him lag behind by a tenth of a second or something like this. So he starts in P3 for tomorrows main race.

Absolutely right. There is no way that Perez would finish first when Verstappen is right behind him. They will definitely have a team order for that situation. Hamilton and Verstappen are so close that this is the only realistic scenario. Whether we like it or not, I don't know. But to a certain degree even Formula 1 or racing in general is a team sport.

Max did it again after the start of the race and it didn't stop until the end so great win for him and this could be the crucial win that will decide the title. Hamilton had a great start but even him told on the radio that RedBull cars are simply way too quicker for him and Mercedes so better come with a solid plan B in order to save him from Perez and still hang on that 2nd place which he did with a great defensive style as we all know that Hamilton is probably one the hardest drivers to overtake.

Driver of the day for me is Gasly , who simply drove amazing from start to finish , never giving up a chance for anyone to come close to him.

Luckily the broadcasters were smart enough to focus on the better parts like Perez vs Hamilton or Bottas vs Ricciardo, else it would have been a boring race to see, like the ones from the days of Michael Schumacher.
Yes, Verstappen did a great race. And Perez too. And Gasly too. And Vettel and Kimi too. And most were almost "invisible".

Mercedes didn't find the best settings this time and the starting strategy has failed them too. The only reason they're still the first at constructors is because Bottas got the fastest lap at the end. RedBull could have had the same strategy with Perez (he had plenty of time to change tyres in the last 5-ish laps at least), but I think that they preferred to let him try his luck on Hamilton (for the show and maybe for long term benefits like Checo's self-confidence?)

Too right @boltz and @NeuroticFish. Spot on analyst of how the race unfolded for those drivers.
I just knew Perez wouldn't let the home fans down and he did take the lead from Max on lap 34 so it was well worth it hearing on Verstappen of conceding the lead to his partner. As he proclaimed.
Excellent race and had my prediction guessed correctly on the Sportsbet.io Ann thread of how it would finish.

I think that Sergio Perez was absolutely the driver of the day. Maybe its being his home Grand Prix was also very effective in this but he still had a great race. I would like to see him making big difficulties for Lewis Hamilton who was at the 2nd place being right in front of him. Perez actually got very close to Hamilton earlier than Mercedes expected. But after overtaking Norris, Hamilton managed to open the gap a little. In the last two laps, Perez dropped the gap down to a level below 1 second again but it was not enough for him to attack. But still it was a good job for him and the team.

On the last lap, it was really intense especially when the team radio of Red bull told Perez that it is "now or never." But the years of experience of Lewis Hamilton on his driving skills became a barrier to Checo's move against him. Though Checo attempted to overtake, Lewis still managed to kept his 2nd position during the race. Again, this is a win for Max Verstappen but I am just really glad to see Perez on a podium finish on his home country race track.

Or maybe... you know points? I mean there was a serious chance that Perez could have become second, which would have mean a lot better result for Max who would be even further ahead, and would be great for Perez who would gain some points and would be awesome for Red Bull since they would get closer as well.

By the looks of it, if things go this way there is a serious chance that Red Bull may lose the constructor whereas Max may win the drivers and that would be a little weird, it is always better to win them both for team chemistry. In this case it would have helped them immensely with the constructors so it was smart to risk it and hope that he would pass Hamilton.

Of course since Mercedes is faster on straights and have been for nearly a decade now, it is always more reasonable to expect them to keep that distance in the straights and it is really hard to pass them when it is 1-2 second difference unless there is a serious pace difference and here they had some but not enough.
