If France can find good balance between attack and defense, have a strong midfield that can support attacking players and cover defenders, they will win this World Cup title. They have many strong attacking players who can help them scoring goals but a champion in World Cup and Euro need to have very strong defense system. Defenders of France national team look not too speedy and it can be their weakness to be exploited by opponents in this World Cup.

A lot of people is going to go for Germany and Spain this time, betting on your nation just because you want to be patriotic when you know they aren’t one of the very best for the title would be one way to throw away good money. It doesn’t really rest in having to play a key role in their team, I think it’s more about the team willing to still see Ronaldo for the leader his always being and try to revolve most of their play about him. Mexico national team is far from having a good and competitive team like years ago with Rafa Marquez, Cuauhtémoc Blanco, Carlos Vela. In this World Cup, they are one of the host nations but I really don't believe that they will be able to go too far. They are in Group A with South Korea, South Africa, and Czech, together with their team quality, it's even hard for Mexico to go to a next phase. They can fight and hope for a second or third position at the ending of Group A matches.

I consider South Korea as a strongest team in this group and they have high chance of finish with a first position, while Mexico will have to directly compete with South Africa and Czech for a second position or at least a third position.
