I can only advise you to go forward, if you are really interested in Altcoins with cheap prices stored in the long run, try to choose a few Altcoins that are already listed on several well-known exchanges, for example Binance etc.

The reasons for that are various, one of which is the glances from investors, that's the main point, you can see that in 2021, all Altcoins listed on well-known exchanges have increased in price, for example Doge, RVN, IOST, BTT etc, that's onlyexample.
Maybe you can consider it, if you still choose altcoin to be your dream.

I remember myself last 2018 too, which I am an extremely fan of shitcoins before, most of the altcoins I hold before were from 2017 Bullrun and I hold them for years, and most of them are being sold by the last quarter of 2018 - 2019.
There are some altcoins there that I could get more profits if I just hold them but most of them are shit and went to almost -90%.

Holding different coins is not that easy because you don't know what may happen in future if it will boost or not. But as long as you earn and see the name of the coins in such exchange there is always possibility that it will be on top. I'm confident enough that time will come, though it needs many years of waiting but surely it worth to wait. Better have with you your patience, positivity and trust.

My experience speaks that it's true, not every coin or token that we hold will pump in the future, some of them will fail and even more of them will fail, however, as an investor, we should be aware that we are risking here and we could fail or succeed and we should be ready to accept the outcome.

popular coins with good trading volume is good for long term, lower risk then lower reward, high risk (coins that are listed in small exchange) but higher reward as the moment they will pump, that's where it will bring you significant profit.

Even in the sure project coins you hold, there is still no certainty that they may not turn out the same with thones syou are allready holding, the difference is just in their progress report on their project. I am also a holder in the same shoes as you but I will keep at it cos i know the benefits.

So many people were suggesting the same thing. Yearly holding needs a legit coin to be a successful holding and the altcoins is only suitable to be used as a short - middle term of investment.
The amounts of devs didn't matters a lot but I should remind you that even with a single developer but when this developer is very skillful and it can make the coin to grow up.
The competence of developers is really needed in this case dude. I think you know what I meant

I think that is why many of the investors just simply give up after a few years into Crypto. All the altcoins they have managed to accumulate, sometimes even thousands upon thousands of coins does not have real value at all after a few years. Most simply invest at the top coins and wait for a long time. Long enough for them to be able to get to the next ATH and hopefully make good profit out of it. Just ask the experts and you hopefully you can get good information from them.

I've been in this crypto world since 2017 and I've been a holder for many coins and tokens just like you. Yes, many shit tokens and coins since then, but I've found gems too. It's all back to ourselves, our research, and our ability to read the situation. It's not always a holding game, we need to apply our knowledge about how to sell or hold regarding the situation. Sell when the news is still a rumor. Besides, the unsold ones one day can be a gem too. This is proved by CO2 (The Collective). I held it since 2018, no news or progress whatsoever until 2020, and then BOOM, they did a swap, partnership, etc, and now the price has risen up to ATH $9,4. Don't be too stress up, just let it go if it's failed. For the good time will come.

This is the reason why we need to do an extensive research before investing to any coin. Not all coins has potential to succeed in the future, thats why if you're not certain on where to invest your money then its better to choose a well-established coins since they're likely to turn as shitcoin.

I also buy different coins 3 years ago, the good thing is majority of them has value and I managed to sell them in good price. Researching did help me to find a hidden gem in the market. Thats why its a must to do some digging before you invest to avoid having regrets in the end.

How do you know if the coin will have a bright future in the next 3 ~ 5 years and what platform do you mean by that? because now many platforms have been born and some of them are also often used by project developers.

Yeah it's always shitcoin that has the most chance of going to zero, they exist only to grub money and then vanish into thin air and these shitcoin characteristic is that they come out of nowhere, usually then endorsed by some trading group just to create pump and dump, silly how people also still fall into that even until today, when it comes to shitcoin it's the game of who's gonna eat and who's gonna get eaten.

HODLing is meant for reputable coins, not for shitcoins. No matter how long you hold something if there is no development it is a total waste of time. There are a lot of projects there with good partnerships, active devs, a good marketing team, and a solid community. HODL is not always the best solution, of you can sell out for profit go, then if you think it is worth the wait but back at cheaper price but take your profit and move on.

Quite laughable but nobody here giving you that advice is to be blame, we have all seen how tokens rise form nothing to becoming top players in the industry, anybody would suggest that especially as we're currently in the altcoin bull cycle (and bull market in general). Investing works better with strategy you pick by yourself to adopt and not getting recommendation form others.

You can use their advice as a blueprint to come up with something of your own but don't totally depend on them since what might work for them might not be beneficial to you. You could try securing profit on each trade you enter since holding is working for you.

Do note though that it isn't that holding isn't profitable but the type of coins you're buying aren't holding material instead they're hyped projects that should only be traded for quick cash.

It's really very unfortunate friend, Without realizing it, you've wasted 3 years are holding a useless coin. That's why people always choose coins that are legitimate or coin that has the most influence in the market for long-term investments.
The main points to remember are You holding coins for long-time, and you are not day trading. What you do are a real investment, it's involving greater risk and low success, but choosing good coins can make you successful in the future.

I have also experienced that kind of unfortunate results mate, from holding with useless coins and tokens mostly from ICO's way back in 2018. But that was a wake-up call for me because everyone can learn from his mistakes thats why I act accordingly to make it right and my first move is to avoid those useless coins and tokens and I make sure that I was holding only the top-ranking cryptocurrencies. but still, I was willing to gamble and participate in some Launchpad activity, particularly in Binance.

There are just those coins that are worth hodling because not everybody dumps.
And there are just those coins that would be for quick profits that's why you should sell them immediately while the price is still on a... worth the sales.
Consider those bounty hunters that would seemingly dump all the coins just right after the coins got listed in the exchange.

In my opinion, there is no obvious hold and will certainly win for all types of altcoins. You have to be sure for the best, how to understand if it gets stuck in growth and is driven by a lever to trust. Even ETH, I sold my beef for $ 150 at the end of 2018 and look back at my mistake now. Therefore, I believe that HOLD is still the preferred form for maximum profit.

Be wise with your investment, and you will make a profit in the future. If you can not select the coin that has the potential to increase in the future, you will not make a profit, even for a small profit. I also held some coins from 2018, and the value now increases higher following with bitcoin price because that is what I will get if I sell it in bitcoin. Holding can be a waste if you always check on the price, but if the bull trend comes, you can check the price repeatedly to see if your coin can increase higher or it still stays at the current price.

no all types of altcoins. some are in fact dead.
do not hold the tokens you know aren't going to b valuable. you will know that from the beginning when you look at the purpose of the project. if it's just about a project that will work for a particular community where only a few will benefit then it's not going to have good value. why buy it in the first place. buy the ones that you think will have future potentials.

well, holding it doesn't mean not selling it. It's quite weird if you just hold the coins without targeting anything. however, if you use these altcoins for their function because you need them, that will be the better thing. however, I also still hold my coins today. however, if I needed money, and the price offered was high enough, I might sell some. however, we need a goal for that. just be a wise investor.
