You’re not alone mate, I have been holding a lot of souvenirs useless coins too from 2017 to 2019 but I have already moved on a waste of money and time indeed. Well, learn from the past for sure most of us are wiser these days and will not gamble anymore in half baked projects.
I think we all have experience of holding a coins who didnt recover or turn out to be a shitcoins. This is the risk of holding/buying a not established coins, they're likely to lose their value or be delisted in exchanges.

But from that experience we learn to know better on what coins are good to invest in even for long period hodling. It doesnt necessarily mean only buy popular coins because there are also hidden gem in new projects. However it requires an extensive research to know the worthy coins, so dig deeper and exert an effort.

It depends on our ability to do research and analyze the movement of the coins we want to buy. If we choose the right coins and also buy
at the right time, it looks like holding is not a waste to do. Most of them hold for a relatively long time, and in the end, the price of the coins
does not go up. That is not because holding is a bad thing, but rather the wrong choice of coins that are not potential. It must be remembered
that not all coins are eligible for holding, even though it is currently in a bullish trend, it does not mean that all coins are pumped. Be careful
in choosing coins for HODL, do research and analysis properly.
That's also true. Why even buy a coin or participate in a bounty campaign of a coin that you don't know whether the coin is going to rise. It takes a bit of research. I learned this because back in the days I have joined a campaign where a token or the team just scammers. They didn't even say goodbye to their telegram but just completely disappear. If you have a coin right now that you think may really not go up then just sell it and just keep trading to earn.

As you said, sometimes it is frustrating to know that many projects are cheating on their participants. I participated in the bounty campaign several
times in 2019, and there are several tokens that cannot be sold until now because the volume is too small. So there is no demand for these coins,
even I have several tokens that I bought in 2018 when the price was dumped. But in 2021 the price will not go up, it looks like the project has
been abandoned by the owner and the developer team. This is the importance of doing proper research and analysis as I have said before.

Just like many of us here, those times I patiently waited until holding such promising tokens failed so bad due to emotions. Then suddenly all token values rapidly increased, and all of a sudden regrets is really happening to me lately. All gains happening is a loss of opportunity for me, I just wished it would go down for a time to buy back.
"to good too be true" and lesson learned, never make a sudden decision at any circumstance, especially in a middle of your investment , worrying isn't necessary if you really see how good the project is in the future ., as the growth seems not good for you after putting money, just put trust and be patient.. Because at the end of the day you will end up nothing if you always trying to pull out your money because there's a massive dump..

People be like
Don't always sell all the coins and tokens you own because they can rise in future but I've hold so many coins since 2018 and only very few gives me 50$ to 70$  Grin today, isn't this laughable??

I be like
It's always wise to hold only very popular coins for future sake like the period we are in presently, not all altcoins will pump and give you a thousand dollar gain or more, if I've spent my time to gather top altcoins I would be in happy mood right now

There are still other altcoins that will pump in the future for sure. Just be more patience, this was I learned from if you become impatience
I am pretty sure that in the end  you regret it. Just like before I have 600k coins I won't mention the name I sold this coin at the price of 20 satoshi, and now the price resistance in the exchange was in between 40 to 80 satoshi.. Due to I became impatience.

You are right about that even though most of the dumps in my wallet are mostly from bounties and airdrops then as a newbie, I hunted for those quite a bit  Grin and yeah, they are just sitting there without a market and nothing to do with them so now like you said, we are wiser and even if I have to engage in bounties, I make a wiser choice now.

Mate, I am a fan of the good old hodl, but I hodl with smartness. I hold no fort for shitcoins. Unless the ones so worthless, they can't pay for the gas transactions
For the problem of gas costs, almost everyone complains about it, including project developers, because the cost calculation in one transaction is very expensive, especially in thousands of transactions, your problem is an old woman fan, it's just an appetite that maybe everyone will have a difference.

Who told you that you can be holding crap coins for a long term and expect them to pump? Nah, that’s totally wrong, if I were I am just going to be investing only in bitcoin rather than just buying some altcoins that are worth nothing. If you want to buy altcoins why not buy the ones that are going to see growth? We have Ethereum, and we have other coins like litecoin, Monero, ripple, all these top coins they are the ones that you should be considering if you have plans to be investing your money in any of these coins and holding it for years as you did with these ones.

Anyway, it has happened and you have learnt a bit lesson. I do see people who will be buying up lots of new altcoins that are not even up to a year lol, because they think that these altcoins are going to become the next bitcoin.

Agree we need is to be patient but only for good project only because if we wait for a project that  no development activities and totally dead project it means we are waiting for nothing.

Obviously, we will not even work on that project from which we do not expect anything. Whenever we wait, we have a reason. Some factors tell us that our waiting is not meaningless. Therefore, what you wrote is very banal and obvious things. It is important to understand in time whether it makes sense to wait for something from the project or not, this is the first thing that every investor should be puzzled with.

It should be build inside you once you entrust your investment to a certain project, be ready in any action that you take as part of this business is to wait even it took for much longer time frame.

As long as you understand what you are doing and you do believe from the project that you put your money in.

When you do deal up with this market then you should really prepare yourself because this one is really a very stressful one and if you cant able to handle up your emotion then that will significantly affecting
your overall investment decisions which it shouldnt really be tolerated.

Making yourself aware and make out those acceptance in losses and make out some learning would really mold you into a better investor.

This do really depend on someone's decision making if ever of those project that he had been holding are worth or not.

That's why people will always try to throw the crap coin and replace it with the legit coin. there's no reason to hold the crap coin at this moment dude. Even since a long time ago and so many crypto experts were only giving suggestions to hold the legit coins. The crap coin can be only used as a short term speculation while it's too risky to be used as long term investment.
You have proven it even a few years already passed and garbage coins give nothing right now.  Grin

holdinG in BNB. My friend do a day trading in crap coins and tell me look i gain that 10$. nut now when BNB go up and he is still at 10 -15$ profit im at 100$+ profit. its good to hold or day trade in legit one's.

It depends, what coins are you holding anyway? Because if that’s a shitcoin then definitely it will not pump hard unlike top coins. The coins future also rely on the team on how they run the business, even the project is legit there’s no assurance that they might succeed in the long run.Honestly I also had bunch of shitcoins in my wallet, its a sore in eye and I wish I can get rid of them or burn them.
what about holding in BNB

That's why there's no point holding shitcoin for long, if no one takes care of it and it's been left by the devs only magic can pump those altcoins.
it is better to pay more for quality than to pay for something without a price.

The ridiculous thing you're saying is on buying 50 years ago, Grin is the crypto space 50 years old now? or has DOGE existed in the previous 50 years? it really looks ridiculous when you say so.  Cheesy

It's ridiculous to comment on someone's reply without first reading it properly. How did you come to the conclusion that JooBra bought the DOGE 50 years ago? He most likely meant to say that he bought 50 euros worth of DOGE a few years ago.

what about holding in BNB

That would be a very good option. I believe BNB is like the coin to hodl this days as more and more development are happening in the Network and more projects listing in Binance Chain, I believe this will continue to rise the price of the coin. Buying and Hodl or even trading BNB daily is profitable if you look at the trading chat.

Atleast you've learned something, there is good coins and there is bad coins if you are planning to hold for long term always make sure you hold coins that have the slimmest chance of going wrong, I recommend top altcoins though, they hardly go wrong in the long term

Oh yeah, now that I'm starting to understand what JooBra said, it turns out that he bought DOGE at 50 last year before the pump happened to Dogecoin, which is amazing and I'm sorry I misunderstood this.
