And they already embarrass other athletes! In addition to the difficulties that it has to overcome, many paralympic teams perform better than the olympic teams.

Now that's preposterous, I mean if you try and compete them equally, I am pretty sure that the athletes that don't have a disability is going to win. That's invalidating the efforts oof the other teams is what you're saying just to say that you support Paralympics.

If so, how is their performance usually?

Previously I haven't followed Paralympics very closely, just watched some goalball games and athletics events in Rio 2016. Now for the first time Paralympics will be shown on national TV in my country and I already watched openin ceremony. Though, it won't be easy to watch events because of big time difference from Europe.
There is 24 athletes from my country will participate - more than in 2012 and 2016. And I think we have good chances to take medals in goalball and athletics
But I think every athlete who perform in Paralympics is hero and deserves much respect.

If the Paralympics were aired in my country there is no doubt that I will watch them but as far as I know that has never been the case and I do not think this is going to change soon, now this would be more complicated due to the time differences as I think a great deal of the world had problems watching the Olympic games as most of the action happened at hours in which we could not have access to a TV, and this is probably going to push the viewership down for the Paralympics as well.

What I want to say is that there are groups of athletes who go to the Olympic games and despite being able to get better results, they can't.
In turn, athletes from the Paralympics, from the same countries, ended up showing better performance.

I don't say for both of them to compete with each other. What I say is that "normal" athletes should try harder in some cases.

What is your country? Do you usually take a good number of medals home?

Turkey. We won 9 medals in the 2016 Paralympic Games. We had 3 gold, 1 silver and 5 bronze medals. It's not a huge success, but we have very talented athletes in some branches
This year the olympics went well for our country and we came home with one of the highest number of medals we have ever received. I hope we experience something similar in this tournament

The same happens with my country, and this has been a positive trend for each event... the Paralympics are attracting more and more athletes, which is very good.

One of the sports I always watch and enjoy as much as the "normal" is football. It's amazing to see how players can find and kick a ball into the goal just using their ears.

Unfortunately for my country it has been different. Portugal has won fewer medals in the last 3 editions of the Paralympics, compared to other years.


But, we cannot always be winning.

Wow yes, you are right, I saw how some of the soccer players from Colombia have prepared and it is something exceptional, in fact Colombia is one of my favorite teams, also I saw another athlete who is running for 100m speed and is blind, That seems to me something to admire, I couldn't see the inauguration, but they told me it was phenomenal.

Cycling athletes also attract my attention, some platforms can already enable online betting, it is a great option.

Today there are a total of 24 gold medal events, with 16 in swimming, four in Wheelchair fencing and the rest in Track Cycling. The events will last for 12 days, slightly shorter than the main Olympics.

I was a bit surprised when you say that the Paralympics opening ceremony was mostly performed by handicapped individuals. I mean, who else? Anyways just kidding as I don't know if on the past ceremony, it wasn't mostly done by handicapped individuals.

I was able to watch the ceremony because it was spread to my news feed on Facebook and Twitter. The first time I watched the whole opening ceremony of the Paralympics event.

I watched the ceremony, it was awesome. I think these people are very valuable and talented I wish the games would take a little longer to complete, it will be over soon.
I'm watching the goalball games today, it's all very exciting. Germany men's goalball team looks very strong, they were also a bit lucky

In my opinion, the choreographer who composed the event was really great and made the Opening ceremony or the Paralympic opening ceremony take place at the Olympic Stadium, it was really very beautiful to watch even though it was only through video, it looks like this year Paralympics will be the same as the previous Olympic where the sporting event was not the audience will be present and interestingly I see if there is an afghanistan flag hoisting even though according to some information, afghanistan representatives athletes or team officials cannot attend the event because of the current conflict in their country.

Another sad consequence of the chaos that Afghanistan is suffering.
This is the first time that Afghanistan has not been present at the Paralympics since 2000.

But one of the good news that I read yesterday is that the flag bearer of the last Paralympics (held in Rio de Janeiro) managed to leave the country, which is a relief as she would certainly suffer consequences in the face of the Taliban's oppressive regime for women who somehow try to stand out in society.
