I think it depends on the coin itself. If in the future prospects are very good and have potential, there is no harm in you holding coins in the long term. Especially if you buy it when the price of the coin is at the lowest price. We can learn the history of the coin, but holding long-term is very much in need of patience.

Those who want to hold it in the long term will definitely prepare patience for it because without patience no one will be able to do that and also must always search for it first without rushing to choose it and this is also represented by all the coins that are already popular, of course.

Patience does have a big role and is the key in holding back for the long term,

Not true. Not because you hold an altcoin does it mean that the coin will pump it depends on what coin you are holding try holding some meme coin (altcoin) for a long time and wait for it to pump. I doubt that all of them will pump only few and projects that has a utility and has a real project those kind of altcoins are worth holding for and more likely to pump.

Holding altcoins that already have strong fundamentals such as ETH and BNB, it is very possible for us to get bigger profits in the future and so far these two coins have certainly proven to be coins that are in great demand by investors because of the returns provided by these two coins bigger than other altcoins in the long run.

Agree if you know which coin to keep holding for that long period of time , because if not then you are gone long lol.

remember that there are only Few altcoin that legit and trustworthy than those shitcoins that will eventually die .

Invest what you can afford to lose is always the best strategy knowing how much you can keep holding for long term and the amount that you can partially forgot till the right time comes.

People bring in the traditional stock market mindset that if we hold enough eventually it must pay us returns ,but that could be farthest from the truth when it comes to crypto and especially altcoins.
More than 80% of existing altcoins are Scams and simple pump and dump schemes,peddled by paid influencers on Twitter and Instagram.
There are very less coins which have good fundamentals such as $SOL or $DOT maybe.
Most of the coins would be dead in the next bear market so beware what you hold.

This is often the problem with most of us who hold for a long time. The coins get into profit and we still expect it to increase more only to loose our profit because most of them get to loose value later. It is heartbreaking when such happens. Most times those who get lucky in holding a coin are those who do not intend to even hold it. Maybe they forget they have the coins until they begin to rise in price. I have coins like that am holding now and am not excited about them. You mentioned that the best time to buy is when the market is in bear season. The thing is that bear season also scare alot of people from buying as many will reason that the coin is being dumped and abandoned.

I share your point of vies that long-term investment is the most profitable and safe strategy, but so as to become a strong holder you need to choose a right project first. If you find a project with good fundamentals, innovative ideas and technologies and the team with impressive portfolio behind it, then you can be calm that this project will be successful so you can just hold not worrying about short fluctuations.

The thing called waiting is difficult and requires a lot of patience, especially when it comes to money and we also know that all businesses have their own risks but depending on what we choose, it is the same as the altcoins we hold if the coin always experiences price developments in the market every year  , so there is no harm in holding it for example BNB, LTC, ETH coins are old coins whose prices change every year, so we can study them and see the price movements of these coins.

That's why we exactly need to make ourselves busy for the whole year or depending on your own timetable and plans ofcourse, because if we are just hodling it while waiting at the same time without any main business or jobs then it's not very easy to hold as your patience is always testing you since you have nothing to do.
There are already lots of potential altcoins and there are also others that's already proven to give you profits as long as your dedicated and know to manage your funds.
