I don't think boxers will be contented with their performance or legacy. We have seen Manny for instance, time and time again comeback to box even after he losses to Marquez and Floyd and still chooses risk risk fighters.

Maybe they are different. Manny started off his career without a fear of losing and was able to make history in boxing, becoming an 8th division world champion. That happened because he didn't want to stop pushing himself to the limit, even trying to beat bigger guys. However, later on, he realized his weight limit after a victory against Margarito.

If Canelo doesn't want to take risk anymore at this point in his career, then his legacy will not be cemented if he duck Benavidez or didn't give Bivol a rematch and avenge his lost to him. But that's what his call, and I'm sure that the people around him are advising him to do that, chooses less risk but in the end, he will be judge when he retires.

He could have taken an easier route, such as a rematch with Bivol, but it seems he is not interested in giving it another try against the boxer that defeated him. I believe Benavidez is quite more dangerous than Bivol, so he will also say no to that obviously. Or perhaps, he is just waiting for the right timing, which I'm not certain about because he is not getting any younger so he should be taking fights to add to his legacy before retirement.

WBC will actually bring together David Benavidez vs Oleksandr Gvozdyk for the clash for interim light heavyweight title and in this fight we will clearly see who can win in less time or TKO.
David Benavidez 28-0, 24 KO will meet former light heavyweight champion Oleksandr Gvozdyk 20-1, 16 KO, the difference in their fighting styles can be seen more clearly and Benavidez is of course really fighting to win this fight to be able to move up division .
Many boxing fans really want to see Benavidez fight Canelo but there are several reasons why this fight didn't happen and Canelo himself has fight scheduled for May 4 but it is not clear who his opponent will be because there is no official confirmation yet.
David Benavidez vs Oleksandr Gvozdyk will take place next June and we will see how Benavidez can get the interim WBC light heavyweight title in their fight, he will really be the favorite because Gvozdyk himself has also stopped fighting for quite long time due to injury.

After Canelo can not fight Benavidez because he has a fight this year maybe in May there is a huge chance that he can now fight Charlo for the best thing he can be, but this is what Canelo wanted but, I wanted a much better challenge for Canelo Alvarez, well let's just wait after this fight maybe the Benavidez VS Alvarez could still continue.

What is clear is that Benavidez will fight Gvozdyk and of course Canelo will not fight Benavidez this year even though many people really want their fight.
Previously, it was reported that Canelo had fight on May 4 and the most likely opponent was Jermall Charlo, so there was decision for the fight between Benavidez and Gvozdyk because the Canelo vs Benavidez fight would not happen.
But yesterday I received some news that was being discussed by many boxing fans in the area where I live, they were talking about Canelo choosing Jaime Munguia as his opponent on May 4.
Moreover, last year Canelo also managed to beat Charlo with unanimous decision from the referee, there is no definite clarity regarding this, but what is clear is that Canelo is trying to maintain what he has so that it is not taken by another fighter who could beat him.
I myself was quite surprised by the news of discussions about Canelo choice of opponent because Jaime Munguia has an undefeated title with 43 wins, 0 losses and 34 by knockout.
Jaime Munguia is great boxer and his amazing fight was when he defeated Sergiy Derevyanchenko and John Ryder at super middleweight.

This is really confusing. Everywhere I am watching the news of Canelo vs Munguia and everywhere I am watching that this fight is going to happen.

For now, nobody is saying that this fight is not going to happen.

However, right now it seems like everyone is trying to get views and making the most out of this. I am still not sure 100% about if this fight is actually going to happen or not. But if this happens, Canelo is going to be in danger. I think he is genuinely still trying to avoid Munguia because he knows he has an easier fight and it will be better for him to go there and get the win.

I'm also confused as we thought that he bolted out of PBC and go to Eddie Hearn again for a Berlanga fight? But it seems that Munguia a Mexican is his next opponent? What happen to the excuse that he doesn't want to fight another Mexican? And then PBC negotiating with Oscar's Golden Boy? I know that could have collaborated fight before, but this is Canelo a former GB fighter. Oh well, it's all business and this people are here to make money and take their personal issues at the side.

Not sure if this is true or not, but it's business for PBC, as much as we hear that he no longer works with them. But who knows, they are willing to take him back as there are a lot of upside of Canelo being at the side of PBC although Canelo and his team can't discount the fact that David Benavidez name will come into discussion for PBC for his next fight.

But it seems that it will be Munguia next for Canelo as they have settled the networks that will cover for this fight as GBP has it's own network affiliations. It's true about WBC, then go to social media saying that they are like mandating Canelo to fight David Benavidez. But now we see that it's not true as Canelo chooses Munguia.

Yes probably the biggest age gap that we will see in boxing, assuming we will count exhibition matches a professional fight. But still though even at 58 years of age, Mike Tyson still have that power because it's raw and God given. So regardless of your age, or any other athletes who have been given such, they can still perform and can still harnessed that power if needed in a situation. So there is still possibility that Mike Tyson if he trains seriously can put a serious hurt on Jake Paul if they fought. We just hope that this will not be stage or what like wrestling and they will really go at it to score a knockout. If that is the case then I will go with Mike Tyson to beat Jake Paul. Not only the age but I think Tyson will be the heaviest here. As far as I know Jake can be as high as Cruiserweight, Mike throughout his career is a Heavyweight although weighs just around 200 lbs during his prime.

And this could be one of his biggest pay check as he will be taking on the Legendary Iron Mike Tyson. But at the end of the day still boils down on the money here as they have a huge backer in Netflix.

But as for the winner, Jake Paul is the initial favorite as listed and so with that, I think the fight will go on the distance. I think Tyson will not go full force in this fight and try to score a knockout, besides he is almost 60 years of age.

I also had this feeling that they might put a script in this fight. I mean Mike Tyson is old already and yet he is cool with it. For sure there is the incentive of money, but still though, he doesn't want to lose to someone specially to Jake Paul.

So they will have to put a great script, maybe we will see a draw like what we see before when Mike fought Jones like years ago.

Well, we all know they made some behind-the-curtain contract agreements as well that's why we see that they are making progress with it and such things are popular in the entertainment industry where everything is just pretentious. I'm not a big fan of such fights either, and would never bought a ticket or pay-per-view for it, but at the same time, I'm not going to lie - I am curious how will that unfold.
Mike might be old, but he still has a lot of power and explosiveness and surely won't be stepping into a ring to get a beating from some showbiz kid.
Paul's weight in recent fights was only around ~84 kg, while Tyson was at 100kg during the fight against Roy Jones Jr. in Nov 2020. I'd imagine Paul will probably want to bulk up a bit.
The current odds on Mike are x3.2, which I think could be a good bet to take.

I don't know why everyone everywhere is saying that this is absolutely official! But I am honestly still a little doubtful about this one.
Because everything we can see so far is only the image and the X post.

Actually, if this was fake, they should have been already deleted by now. And I am also pretty sure that it is not a fake ID or something.

Thanks, I think majority here is not a big fan of exhibition fight that involves Jake Paul. But yeah same year, if we play our imagine, Tyson is one of the best heavyweight and there could be fans here that witnesses his greatness to downfall.

Paul will have to get to as high as CW in this weight, not just like 160 lbs - 170 lbs. At least close to 180 or even higher so that he can match Tyson.

I'm not also gonna bet but probably just wait how it unfolds.
