Thank you for this news update because it very much appears that Beterbiev is telling everyone that Bivol is avoiding the trilogy and he is implying that Bivol is very much afraid for another fight. It is headshaking for me because this clearly is only a declaration to promote his next fight against an opponent who is not famous hehehehe. If Beterbiev was very brave he should challenge David Benavidez. He will also got a bigger purse for this, I reckon.

I reckon this might be because Bivol's team considers Beterbiev as a very big risk for their fighter Bivol. They also might have a plan to observe first then accept the challenge later hehehe. In any case, it appears that Beterbiev wants to become champion again quickly because there is a rumor that after his next fight, he will challenge David Benavidez. This will certainly bring the attention and the advantage on the negotiating table back to Beterbiev and he will be positioning himself to become unavoidable for Bivol.

I read a news report yesterday stating that Dmitry Bivol underwent back surgery and will be resting for 6–8 weeks to recover. He’s expected to be out for the remainder of the year and plans to return to action in 2026. This could be the reason why the trilogy fight with Artur Beterbiev has been postponed. While the situation seems like a legitimate reason for the delay, it feels unfair to Beterbiev, who is aging and may not perform at the same level as he did in their first two encounters.

If I'm not mistaken, Bivol has been complaining about this back for years now. So it make sense that after his win against Beterbiev and avenging his defeat, he will have to take care of that back and underwent surgery to repair it so that he can continue with his boxing career. It might be a dangerous Bivol after he recovers 100% and be back fighting anyone at 175 lbs.

Even Canelo says that he is willing to fight Bivol to obviously avenge as well his defeat. As for Beterbiev, he already move on and as far as I know he will have a fight already in the schedule. I just forget the name of his opponent.

Did Bivol not already replied to him that he will only fight on a rematch against Canelo if this will be on super middleweight where Canelo will be risking his championships? There was no reply from Canelo and he has gotten quiet hehehehe. He has also been avoiding David Benavidez.

In any case, Canelo should not underestimate his enemy on September. I reckon Bud Crawford can certainly be a more difficult opponent than if Canelo fought David Benavidez in the ring.

It's hard to disagree with him.
I'm not sure to what extent we can blame Dana White/the UFC for that. They do have a reputation of being cheap when it comes to paying fighters, but they couldn't offer anywhere near as much as the top boxing events pay, even if they wanted to.
But it would be fair if they allowed Tom to have one boxing fight if the opportunity arises. I'm sure he could find someone to organise an event (Saudis?). The problem is that there are not that many interesting names he could fight. He would never fight Tyson Fury as they are friends, but I can imagine Anthony Joshua or even Francis Ngannou would go for it if the money is right.

He was found at his home in Hyde, northwest England. Greater Manchester Police confirmed the death is not being treated as suspicious.

Greater Manchester Police confirmed to the media that officers were called to Bowlacre Road, Hyde, Tameside, at around 6.45am after a member of the public reported concerns.

“A 46-year-old man was sadly found deceased at the scene. At this stage, there are no suspicious circumstances,” a police spokesperson said.

I saw an article moments after his death, and one part of that article says that he's been dealing with mental health issues such as depression and drug addiction. Something that's very hard to recover with. I don't want to think about it, but I'm think that he committed... IYKYK.

It's just unfortunate knowing that he will return in the ring on December of this year, and this happened. Sad to think, but for sure, he will be remembered for his accolades in his whole boxing career. Even Manny Pacquiao already gave his condolences to him, and praised him as well. So this news was really surprising to hear. He admitted that he has mental issues and deal with drugs because of his lost to Manny. But that was years ago and was able to face it already. I remember his fight with Floyd and Manny, wherein there was thousands of fans reportedly flying from Manchester to the US and you can see during the weigh-in as they all sang.

I didn't know he have upcoming exhibition match. The last time I saw him he is not in a good shape to have one.
Well, if that exhibition fight takes place, that could definitely trigger something about what ever is the cause of his death. His loss to Pacquiao was devastating, but he shouldn't have ruined himself by abusing drugs. I'm not sure if he's aware, but a boxer:s body can decline faster than a normal person. I mean their body have taken a lot of beating. Their heads received a lot of hard blows.

We don't want to speculate as what could be the cause of his death. But if he has a upcoming fight, then we can assumed that he didn't feel anything wrong with his body as he is willing to go on another fight and train.

There is no sign of head concussion though as he retire very early and if my memory serves me right, his fight is not as brutal as most boxers. Yes, he is a pressure fighter but he hasn't fought any power puncher except Manny who really put him in the canvass and that starts his depression.

And there are news that Manchester will like to have a statue in honor of Hatton and so I will say that is good as he brought a lot of pride on that city during his prime year as 140 lbs.

I've just learnt that Gervonta Davis is scheduled to fight Jake Paul in November.
The fight was originally meant to happen in Georgia, but, apparently, Georgia's officials stepped in and gave it a red light, stating weight discrepancy as a reason. So they moved it to Florida, while keeping the oiginal date (14th Nov).
Davis, in his last fight (March 2025) weighed 133.75 pounds, while Paul stepped on a scale with 199.5 pounds (in his fight against Julio César Chávez Jr. on 28th June this year).

The fight is to be live-streamed on Netflix.

Moreover, Eddie Hearn, the manager of Anthony Joshua, does not exclude AJ could fight Paul if Paul doesn't lose to Davis, but, as I said before, I don't think Paul would really want this fight. There is an after effect of all of the blows that they've received and probably have shaken their brains and it will impact their neurons that runs there.

So far, Ricky Hatton’s family remains privy to the exact cause of his death. That said, you’re right, mate—repeated blows to the head can have long-term effects on a boxer’s health.
