The Stake team has notified me that this actually was a database error and has been fixed after my message, I have also provided them with proof that I recieved those emails on the account that was closed for gambling problems. They should however compensate the account I created after I recieved those promotional emails, I am not talking about the account that is already closed for problem gambling.
are you planning on gambling on the new account you created? if I were the recovering addict I would have asked for compensation outside their gambling site. asking for compensation(i am sure you are asking about money right?) on your new account could trigger or further trigger your addiction. a relapse could mean wasting all the time and effort you gave on your recovery.

They already admitted their mistake what more do you want out of the issue? Every other casino i've tried makes mistakes from time to time as well.

Their self exclusion might not be perfect but as what the others mentioned there's usually an unsubscribe button for this type of stuff, you could've easily fixed the issue on your own.

because you just don't unsubscribe so you don't receive their emails and you can also block their emails and that's a problem solved, it sounds to me like you're trying to take this error to the extreme when it doesn't need to. Are you sure you are cured of the addiction?
I agree, it felt like OP wanted to get more out of that small mistake.

If this was an email isn't it possible for you to unsubscribe from their promotional emails on your side? Pretty sure Gmail and a lot of similar others have the option. That, or you can go straight to your stake account and disable it from there.
Yup, there's an unsubscribe button, this part is usually found at the bottom of their emails

Actually casino's have a responsibility to take, and casino's have will get fined for sending promotional emails to excluded account. I didnt make this mistake.

Exactly this. I have told them they are not aware of the pain and suffering of problem gambles and their loved ones. Seeing my mother cry over this breaks my heart and really makes me want to stop gambling. Lets just hope someone from Stake will take responsibility. Thank you for your warm words.

If this is causing you such a pain maybe you have to leave the addiction style, I think it will normalize your pain and agony because after a while pains and sadness have a way they can naturally be cured after a while that we distant ourselves from whatever that is causing us the pain.

But if you are not still satisfied ?

Or you want to ask for a kind of financial damage?.
Yes, I believe they should compensate me for the account I created after recieving those emails. Im not talking about the main account which was locked and where they have sent the emails to. They have continued to sent me those emails for a reason, and were aware of my problems since I had contacted live chat about it a year ago.

Small mistake? They might be taking advantage of alot more problem gamblers this way. I dont think their regulator will see this as a small mistake.

Addicted gambling is personal and depend on our behaviour while gambling whether can control yourself or not so it's not gambling sites fault because I had seen many people can able to gambling regularly without being an addicted and regarding your issue i think you can unsubscribe it or if you still received the emails from them you can ignore it and do not opened it however as far i know stake.com didn't everydays send emailnya to their costumers and it only for the particular events or promotions

@Gekkevis7, ralle14 already showed you the solution, just hit the unsubscribed link and your problem will be over.

Complaining about receiving some email from stake is quite new here, some gamblers would just disregard it, but like I said, the solution is present already, you just did not figure it out before.

Email subscription is one part of your agreement when registering on the website. Whatever the website. Isn't this kind of thing a very natural thing? There is already a method to unsubscribe described by @MAAManda and @ralle14, this spam email problem should be solved. If this unsubscribe doesn't work (because of malfunction program), you can do a filter to automatically delete emails from the stake.com domain. here the example from gmail

With doing this, you will never get email from sender, if you wants another "unwanted" email getting deleted automatically, just repeat this way with your targeted email.

Thats not what the case is about, ofcourse everyone can tell me to just delete those emails, sadly I didnt do this and I am easily triggered by such marketing, you cant judge every individual by how they react to something. The problem is that Stake was not allowed to sent promo emails to excluded problem gamblers in the first place.

I understand your sentiments, and I can also agree that stake.com has caused to be emotionally injured, as the triggers were mentioned. However, just like what the representative that you talked to in the live chat support said, and many others here in the forum, you really did  have the power to unsubscribe or disregard any of those promotional emails. Again, we are aware that gambling addiction is not a simple case, thus even the slightest of things can trigger and make it worse. But honestly, I don’t think that stake.com will accept paying that fine you were talking about, based on my observation on their response.

Well, if any gambling authority fines Stake.com and they will not follow the procedures this will have consequences.

Let me explain the situation im in with Stake.com,
I am a recovering gambling addict with an account at Stake due to problem gambling.

This account has been closed for a long time and they still kept spamming me with promotional and bonus emails, even though they were fully aware of my problems.

I am really sorry to hear that. Gambling addiction is a serious issue in today's world. It's very good that you are in recovery, I hope you get all the necessary help you need. A friend of mine had a similar problem, he wanted to stop gambling and kept getting emails from the casinos even after deleting his account. In the end he had to threaten them with a lawyer if they wouldn't stop.
I would also recommend you to complete close your account. It is not okay that you keep getting promotional messages on your current situation. If the customer support team is not solving the issue for you I would also write a letter to them. This is very serious and should be resolved immediately by a serious casino.

If this case will be officially acknowledged by the authorities as a violation of stake.com, then no doubt that they would have to face the consequences and compensate you for all the damages that they have inflicted. But, until that happens, we could only wait then.

Thank you, I appreciate your comment. Alot of people are not understanding the seriousness of sending promo offers to excluded players. However this is very serious and I am sure there are many others with me that share the opinion that it is disgusting to sent promotional emails to excluded accounts.

Well if they acknowledge their mistake there might be a violation, but this kind of violation does not result in them getting penalized by the authorities. The way I see it, it's just a simple mistake, OP has also not figured out how to stop from receiving an email that is very visible in the first place.

Well, if any gambling authority fines Stake.com and they will not follow the procedures this will have consequences.

If this case will be officially acknowledged by the authorities as a violation of stake.com, then no doubt that they would have to face the consequences and compensate you for all the damages that they have inflicted. But, until that happens, we could only wait then.

Well if they acknowledge their mistake there might be a violation, but this kind of violation does not result in them getting penalized by the authorities. The way I see it, it's just a simple mistake, OP has also not figured out how to stop from receiving an email that is very visible in the first place.
They have already acknowledged their mistake and blamed their database and said it had errors. While you might see this as a small mistake, we all are not aware to how many problem gambler Stake is doing this. Problem gamblers are probably their main source of income and they should not target excluded account for their promo mails. There is no casino that is allowed to do this.

Please let me clarify my issue more. I have created a new account after recieving those mails, since the first account was already excluded. I have let them know about the issue and asked them for a refund. As they were fully aware I am a problem gambler they immediately locked the new account to, however I managed to lose some money on that account.

I want to blame you for doing that. Try to have a control over yourself. Stake has done the mistake by sending you promotional messages after your self-ban request. But they aren't responsible for the losses in your new account. You had the option to unsubscribe their promotional message (some forum members has mentioned it above), but you haven't done it.

What a casino can do if you create a new account after requesting self-ban from your old account? They have nothing to do until they recognise you by the IP address. And it takes time to complete the process. You should block gambling sites URL from your device.

I can understand your point of view, however thats not how every person works. A casino has failed in their responsibility to protect a problem gambler. Also who knows to how many people they are doing this. If casino makes a mistake they should rectify that mistake. Last month there was a case with a casino I won't name here that has done the same thing, however they only accidently send emails to excluded members for sending out just one email, they are facing some serious legal action. So why do you think Stake should get away with this?

In this case you have to blame yourself because you cant control yourself. Once you decided to have self-exclusion from any site, you should ignore any other upcoming news, email, or even better if you block anything related to gambling.

Instead of doing so, you created a new account and made a deposit but unfortunately you lost it all then asking for refund? How if you win big with the new account? Will you still complain? I doubt it if you ask me.

Dear fellow users,

Let me explain the situation im in with Stake.com,
I am a recovering gambling addict with an account at Stake due to problem gambling.

This account has been closed for a long time and they still kept spamming me with promotional and bonus emails, even though they were fully aware of my problems.

I have contacted live support and the legal department, and they have admitted their was a error in their database allowing to send promotional emails to problem gamblers, they have let me know they have fixed it after my messages.

Unfortunately Stake is not taking any responsibility regarding my issue and will blame me for their mistakes.

I hope there is someone noticing the pain Stake is causing to some of the problem gamblers out there, and I still hope Stake will solve this issue with me.

I bet you can unsubscribe for such promotional and bonus that they send you to your email inbox. Just scroll down to the end of the message on the message they've sent and try to figure it out where the unsubscribe button at. The click the unsubscribe button and boom, you wont be bothering again with such those things. Good luck tho!

If they cant resolved it then they had made out some instructions on blocking them which i dont see the point on where you do need to make things complicated.I do understand your situation and yes
it is really part of their responsibility on blocking you out in overall aspect including those promotional emails because it was been stated on that terms but if they failed to do
so then if you are really serious on quitting or stopping gambling then you could just simply do on what they had said and there's no need for
making things even more bigger as an issue.

That’s a system generated email for sure and you can just blocked the email address so you wont get any emails from them again. I’m sorry for your losses and its good that you acknowledge your addiction and starts to recover from that, I wish you the best and hope that you already learned the lesson of gambling, you can succeed on that mate! Keep going.
