10-0 so far, no one voted for Whyte to win. lol

Well, it's going to be a big night for Whyte but for Fury it's just an ordinary night because he is used to this kind of situation and is currently the best heavyweight champion now, all the confidence in the world is on him. If Fury had some trouble with Wilder, I guess this would be an easier fight for him.

Because he just fought better opponents in his career. He won against Klitchko, who is basically a legend and broke Wilder's undefeated record twice.
Povetkin is probably the biggest name Whyte defeated, but it was a rematch for a lost fight earlier on. Also, Povetkin was over 40 at that time, 10 years older than Whyte and still managed to kick his ass.
Every time Whyte fought a famous name he lost (maybe besides Parker). You can see in his record a bunch of wins against less known fighters and then he gets a big name like Joshua and gets his ass handed to him.

Tyson Fury vs Anthony Joshua could be the fight fans would like to see. But unfortunately, it seems that isn't the match up boxing promoters will pursue. Anthony Joshua looked done in his last outing. He looked like a fighter who lost all motivation. Tyson fury also appeared to have lost his motivation, even in his last rematch with Deontay Wilder. I wouldn't expect Tyson Fury or Anthony Joshua to compete professionally in boxing for much longer. At least not at the highest levels of the sport.
Even if what you say were true, both Joshua, and Fury would have their motivation rekindled if the fight was to be scheduled. Fury against Wilder the first, and second time you could definitely see motivation. I get what you mean on the third fight, it seemed like Fury was getting lazy at times, but losing motivation after having a judge rule for the third fight, despite Fury arguably beating him twice before unofficially I guess that would demotivate you a little. Although, it was still a top notch fight.

Joshua has looked a little lost since his lost to Ruiz. He seems to have forgotten his power, and now seems to want to outbox his opponent. Forgetting his roots a little, since he's at his best when he starts trading. Although, since facing Ruiz who wasn't fussed at all fighting him in the pocket, and managed to clip Joshua just right, he seems reluctant to do that again. It'll be interesting to see how he comes out in the rematch with Uysk since he definitely can't go about it the way he did the first time. There's no way he'll end up outboxing him, he has to go back to his roots if he's to stand a chance.

Whyte appears to be a relative newcomer. I think the decision to face him, has a lot to do with Tyson Fury no longer having the motivation he once did to train hard in preparation for fights. Tyson Fury is looking for easy paydays now.
Whyte definitely isn't a newcomer. Definitely been around for a decade at the very least. Has fought other big fighters, however hes never really been good enough to be considered a top contender. I'd say a excellent gatekeeper along with Chisora.

The majority will have to go with Fury winning the fight. This will be another victory for Fury because Whyte is not technically gifted, it was his hard work and determination that made him get to WBC number one contender but he is not going to even get close to winning because Fury will probably win by clear knockout or TKO within 3 rounds.

this is my first time hearing about Whyte and I have no idea about his skills and techniques when fighting, but when what you say is true, this fight could be a great way to test his limits, improve himself, and come back stronger.

@OP you should also include their fighting style, reach, height, etc...(something like that). it would be good to see the difference between their physical stats.

It looks like it is going to be an easy money for Fury. On the boxrec, Whyte is top5 in the world and top3 in UK, meaning he is not the best of the best available.

Whyte is not a pure boxer. He did some MMA and kickboxing. These skills are useful, but completely useless against top1 boxer, against a guy who has been in boxing for whole life.

Despite Derek Chisora, I dont see any other strong boxer in Whytes record. Chisora is already a downed bomber and Whyte fought against he, when Chisora was already not in his prime.

I dont know why Fury fight Whyte, as for me it is mismatch. As if Fury just wanted to fight anybody, and Whyte needed a cheque.

This will be a wonderful match to watch. It will be another big win for Fury again, but it's not going to come easy for him though.
The amount involved is a whole lot of money that is above some state allocation in my country.
Since both of them knew each other and trained together from the early start in their boxing career. This will be a tough match cos both are in their prime

Many people might think of Fury vs Whyte as a mismatch but full credit to Whyte because he had to win his fights including coming back from defeats to Joshua and Povetkin. He managed to win his rematch against Povetkin in style so is in form. Let us not forget he has been a professional boxer for over 10 years and has a 30-2 record and 19 of those 28 wins were by knockout (9 were by the judges scorecards).

Whyte fully deserves his chance against Fury because the WBC made him number one contender. I see no scenario in which it is possible for Whyte to win the fight but regardless of the outcomes Whyte will have made USD$ millions from it.

But even if Fury goes toe to toe, I think Whyte can't hit him that cleanly because Fury is more of a technical boxer. He is so agile at his weight that he is really a freak of nature.

So yeah, I don't see Whyte getting a win in this fight. But it's a good test for Fury having to face another fighter that can punch and then clean up the division for good.

Of course he deserves it. Most of us just think he's going to lose, that's all.
Usually people with good records get contracted against each other because they both have a lot to lose. When 1/10 of your fights are loses everybody knows you're going to give it all you got and people want to watch skill and struggle not 1st round knockouts. Blood and tears is what sells and you can see that people like Fury and they want to see him win. Nothing against Whyte here, we just can't all be champs Wink

An exciting one though we already knew who’s the crowd favorite but of course Whyte is still a good boxer even if he came from a loss, Fury should not feel any complacency here. Such a big difference on reward which I understand since Fury is a star, whoever win or lose here still they have the money to bring, its just that bonus is there for the winner.

I think there will be more interest in pre and post fight interviews then on the ring. Fury would destroy his opponent mentally in his usually funny behavior. Then he will just strengthen that on the ring.

Not a single person in poll believes in Whyte. Similar situation was in a fight against Usyk and Joshua, but in this fight, miracle wont happen. When Fury wins, do you think he will win Usyk and finish his career, or he will continue ?

29M for a single fight is more than a life time MMA career.  What change does Whyte against Fury? But maybe he is faster. He wouldnt be a boxer if he is whimp.

Such big money for a fight. Its no wonder Ngannou really wants to be in boxing than where he is good at which is MMA. Afaik they were tweet exchange with Fury between the two but have not madea huge buzz to make promoters interested.

Now you can see why superstars like Ngannou are desperate to box. You really can't blame them. 500k-1 mill for a tougher MMA fight or multiple millions to box. I think the UFC should really consider having a boxing promo arm or something or just do cross sport promo events with their biggest fighters. They're going to lose their superstars once they run down their contracts. It seems like it's in everyone's interest to keep both parties happy.

Francis Ngannou will be rehabbing his injured knee for the next year or so. That removes him from the list of prospects Tyson Fury can face.

Regardless of the injury he likely wouldn't have been able to fight Fury until next year anyway as after the Dillian fight he'll almost certainly be fighting the winner of AJ/Usyk. If Francis does have surgery it looks like he'll be running his UFC contract down so could be free and able to fight Fury next year.

Yeah, he might not be a household name but he's a fairly decent fighter and only lost 2 out of his 30 fights and one of them was against AJ when he was unbeatable. He lost to Povetkin back in 2020 but won the rematch in 2021. He's past his prime now though so that's why I think it will be an easy win for Tyson and Fury is still in his prime in my opinion but once he hits 35 it could likely start to decline.

He's a pro boxer with a pretty good record. He did MMA once back in 2008 so that doesn't mean much.

Not a single person in poll believes in Whyte. Similar situation was in a fight against Usyk and Joshua, but in this fight, miracle wont happen. When Fury wins, do you think he will win Usyk and finish his career, or he will continue ?

He could retire, but I think he might go for one or two more superstar fights like with Ngannou or something. Personally after the Whyte fight I'd like to see him fight both Usyk and AJ (regardless of who wins) and then finish it off with Ngannou or something.

No wonder why Fury is the favorite here because we're already familiar with how he handles his matches. It will surely be a tough fight for Whyte but we shouldn't underestimate him as an opponent as well because he also has an aggressiveness on the ring. Fury has a funny personality that catches his supporter's attention all the time but he's also promising and too focused when he fights. It will be an exciting and thrilling match.

It's finally confirmed, I thought that Fury - Usyk fight is the one that will materialize but it's good that we have this fight on two fighters throwing insults to each other, Fury will be the heavy favorite here but I never rule out an upset Whyte is a very stubborn fighter with power that can rock any boxer, I'm thinking what if Whyte upset Fury, this will create a disruption in the heavyweight division with Fury, Wilder, and Joshua having losses,  things will be interesting if there's an upset and it will create build-up for fights against former champions.
I think that is the fight that we wanted to see as there is nothing more exciting than an unification fight in which everything is on the line in a single fight and the one that wins becomes the undisputed champion of the division, however it was impossible for Joshua to just accept the money to step out, if he did then he will never get the chance to recover his belts, and even if the chances are low against Usyk at least they are not zero. And about this fight Fury is the overwhelming favorite everywhere, including this forum, however I think we will see a good fight and at the end that is all what matters.

Fury had planned his fight but forced the british boxing board of control to change its decision to stop boxing in january. Where wbc world heavyweight champion fury anger has always wanted to fight in las vegas and this should lead to a very exciting and focused performance in its early days fury said I love my job more than ever before. I thought boxing was a job I had a job going on I trained hard to fight and then I put on a lot of weight.

I do not foresee an upset with the Fury-Whyte fight. It is going to be a straight win for Fury. Was Dillian Whyte not the same boxer AJ made a mess of? AJ who could not even have straight wins in his last two matches. Whyte will be an easy meat for Fury. Fury will even beat any of the boxers from the other bout - Usyk and AJ, if they are to face him today. But I have to say that I do not like how the winnings are shared with Fury taking a greater percentage of the money whether he wins or loses. I believe that is why the bonus cash is set aside to compensate who will emerge the winner incase Whyte wins. But I do not see him winning. The bonus will still end up with Fury.

I just it boils down as to who is the A-side in this fight. And obviously it is Fury, so he will get the lion share of the purse. But I have to agree that the chances of a upset is very slim, and I'm thinking that Fury might toy with Whyte in this fight and going to dictate where the fight will go. He will fight it in the middle or in the corner doing some tight rope, with his tongue out and frustrate Whyte.

The thread poll so far shows Fury 100% to win this fight with 16 votes.

Whyte has not even signed the contract yet as he is said to be still seeking a larger share of the fight purse. Fun and games  Grin

I agree. Whyte is not in the right position to demand. As a matter of fact, he should be treating this as an opportunity. He does not even deserve this match so to speak. Fury has everything to lose and nothing to gain in fighting Whyte. On the other hand, Whyte has everything to gain and nothing to lose.

In terms of upset, Wilder has so much chance than Whyte. Whyte should take note that knocking down Fury does not automatically mean he already has the upper hand. Fury has proven time and again that he may lose balance and fall when a heavy punch perfectly lands in the most perfect spot on his face but he does not lose consciousness. He could get up and get back at him. Fury is definitely a hard puzzle to solve. I’m afraid Whyte has luck as his only chance.
