In today's match between Chennai and Gujarat, I chose the Gujarat team to place the bet. Although Dhoni is now the captain of Chennai, there is no continuity in the performance of the players. Gujarat could have won very easily.

Gujarat won easily against CSK who performed marginally better than MI which was the worst team in this season so far.

The match would have been competitive if the two Lucknow openers had batted responsibly. But the match was completely one-sided.

Boult destroyed their momentum initially which screwed Lucknow for the rest of their game. With this win, RR qualified which implies that there is a single spot remaining. DC, RCB, KKR and Punjab are fighting for it.

Whosoever wins between DC and PBKS tomorrow will be eyeing for 16 points as well and RCB is already there eyeing 16 points. So I doubt team with 14 will go through. But if this happens RCb currently has the worst NRR among the rest of the teams so it has lowest chances amongst all to qualify.

Yes, 16 points will be the decider for the playoff. The match between Delhi Capitals and Punjab Kings have a big part, because winner will have the chance of keeping the hope of taking 16 points. Royal Challengers Bangalore have got the match against Gujarat Titans which seems to be hard for RCB. Anyhow the net run rate is the deciding factor in the fourth team towards playoff.

Today I chose the Delhi Capital team. But after giving a target of only 160 runs, I thought I would lose today's bet. But the performance of Delhi bowlers is very good today. No Punjab batsman has been at the crease for long. Punjab lost 7 wickets for 82 runs. Punjab's collection in 16 overs is 109/7. They need 51 runs from 24 balls to win. The match is now completely under Delhi's control.

Punjab looks almost out but if DC, KKR, RCB somehow messed up their last remaining match (in that case KKR out) and also Punjab manage to win their last match then things could get complicated between DC, RCB and Punjab. Run rate will decide their fate.

If by any chance KKR-Punjab wins their last match and DC-RCB lose their last match then 4 teams will fight for the 4th spot lol

Mumbai Indians VS Sunrisers Hyderabad

I chose the Hyderabad team for place my bet today. And Hyderabad was able to give a target of 194 runs in 20 overs. The performance of Mumbai's batsmen is very irregular. And so I think 193 runs is enough to win. Mumbai scored 20 runs without losing any wicket in 3 overs. They have to collect 174 runs from 102 balls to win. If the power play can't take any wicket, it will be difficult to win the match of Hyderabad.

I thought that SRH got eliminated after their defeat in their last match. Their NRR is in the negative zone too which implies that today's narrow win against MI doesn't really matter much.

Williamson hit the brakes just like many major players this season. Seems like they got hit by IPL fatigue. Malik keeps improving with every match even though speed isn't everything.

Yup low NRR is not helping their cause, they needed a thrashing win but they failed but battle is not lost completely yet. With 1 match left now, it's extremely tough but anything is possible in the T-20.

Having said that they only have themselves to blame for this debacle. they were in very strong position in starting phase of tournament but they managed to messed thing up royally.

SRH's captaincy role becoming curse for every quality player. It happened with Warner in last season and same thing is happening with the Williamson, i hope SRH management back their skipper this time.

What a roller coaster. After Nitish Rana, Iyer and Billings i thought it's a dead match but boy o boy!! Rinku Singh and Narine made ending very thrilling, although they lost the match but this match was amazing to watch just for fine power hitting from both sides.

Margin points keep running away from me again and again recently. I thought RCB won easily against GT, but it turns out that they won comfortably thanks to Superbru's rules.

RCB are still in the hunt for the playoffs thanks to their easy win against GT and their NRR got a great boost, but DC still has the upper hand currently. It looks like one of these teams is going to occupy the final spot in the playoffs.

Since yesterday I've changed more than 5 times. At first, I gave narrow, then easy. and after the toss, I changed it to comfortable, lol


So,  finally, Virat Kohli played really well and played an innings that had some importance in winning his team the match.

RCB knew that they had to get their run rate better. They really tried to do that so. But I have to say they did not get that net run rate a lot better, to be honest.

Now we have to wait and watch what happens in the next match of  Delhi Capital versus Mumbai Indians. If Delhi Capital wins they will overtake RCB because of a better net run rate.
I really wish RCB can get promoted to the next stage because I really want to see if Virat Kohli can play well just like he did in this match.

Delhi's chances of winning against Mumbai seem high. Mumbai's performance is very erratic. However, Mumbai's chances of victory are not low. Because at the moment the performance is almost unpredictable. Even if Delhi does not qualify for the next round, if Hyderabad or Punjab may win their next match, then Bangalore's chances of qualifying for the playoffs are slim.

This particular season is way too long thanks to the introduction of 2 new teams. Personally, I am slowly losing interest in this season just like many others. They should go back to 8 teams or fewer matches with 10 teams from next season onwards.

This could help increase viewership ratings once again. Let's see if the BCCI learn from the mistakes that they made during this season.
