I didnt expect honestly that Trabzonspor will continue the good run in this season aswell. In friendly matches they played really bad and now they won the super cup and the first round match in the league. If they continue to win like this they will surely fight for the title

New rumours say that Galatasaray are very close to finishing the signing of Mertens currently. He is a qualified player for certain but he is very old (35) at the same time. I know that there is an example like Gomis for Galatasaray. He still performed very nicely last season even though he was 36 years old. If Mertens adapts to the team well he can do the same as well. However I actually hoped for them to bring younger players from now on. Having an experienced striker is good but it isn't a long-term plan.

Galatasaray started the transfer season a bit slow, but now they have become the most ambitious team of the transfer season. Mertens will add a lot to our league with his experience. Last year he scored 11 goals in the Italian League. Turkish Super League is an easier league for him. Therefore, I expect him to score more goals under the Galatasaray shirt. Some players are valuable. Mertens is a valuable football player. He will give the return of his annual salary as performance in the field. I have great expectations from him.

I think Mertens may score about the same amount of goals again and not more. The reason is that Turkish league could be easier for him, but it is not easier to purely score, it is easier to be better in talent considering there is a big difference with lower level teams.

I think it is clear to me that he would be attacked and tackled very very hard, and because of that he will not have any chance to score as much, he will have a higher chance to get injured actually. Thankfully they have seferovic which means that if one of them goes down then the other one will pick up but it is going to be a hard discussion to have when that happens because tactic and formation would change.

I remember saying that the game will be a difficult game for Trabzonspor before the game started because they were not performing very well in their pre-season games so I felt for them to win against the newly promoted Istanbulspor will be very difficult but Trabzonspor had an easy win with a comfortable halftime lead and full-time lead indeed they may end up retaining the title should they continue with this form.Am happy to see them remain stronger.

It's too early to talk about that because Trabzonspor was heavy favorite in this match and we saw that İstanbulspor is nowhere near Super League level. They are one of the two worst teams in the league, maybe the worst one, the other one is Ümraniyespor. These newly promoted teams didn't create good squads to stay in the league. Any team who lose points in the league against these two will be very upset.
Talking about Trabzonspor's chances, well we've not seen their performance against big teams yet so we have to wait a little more. It's a fact that they have a great attacking quality but their defensive problems haven't seen yet. Cornelius is a great striker, that's for sure.

Trabzonspor showed a pretty good match even though in terms of strength and clear name they were superior and the result was predictable from the start.
But there are things that are quite interesting because even though they are superior in goals and chances, in possession of the ball they are a little less I think.
This should be fixed soon if they still want to defend the title for them.

Trabzonspor has always been a competitor to be reckoned with for each season, in fact they almost won the title in the 2019/20 season, unfortunately they are 4 points different from Basaksehir who won that season. Until finally last season they proved that they could be TSL champions.

They managed to win easily from Istanbulspor in the first match, but we can't use this victory as a reference if they will play great this season, I am more sure that Besiktas will win the TSL title this season.

Yes, the team chemistry is very important and they kept most of the players from last year, therefor, we can say they still have last year's team spirit and it is normal that they have good communication between the title winning players of the last season. But as someone pointed out in earlier posts, it is still early that we can say Trabzonspor is great as last year. Super Cup game was great for them but Istanbulspor game was fairly too easy. Istanbulspor is the most inexperienced team in the league maybe. The last time they were in the Super League was like 20 years ago and they will struggle a lot until they are getting used to the big league. For making a prediction about who would win the title this year, we should definitely wait and see the games between the big teams. It is too early to say anything.

I watched at least half of Trabzonspor match. There was huge quality difference between Trabzonspor and İstanbulspor. I literally tried to find player who is at least above average watching İstanbulspor but there was none. They need transfers, if they don't they will be one of bigger candidates to relegation. Trabzonspor performed in very standard level. I think it was mainly because weather was very hot and they were relaxed after scoring a goal, if match was gonna played 90 mins more İstanbulspor wouldn't be able to score.

Well i honestly dont understand why that goals was dissallowed. Maybe the foot was infront  of the last guy but still a wierd decision. Also both teams had so many chances but Besiktas is a club with experience and handled this match in the very end to take the win

Games against Kayserispor are always though when you can't find a goal and this is what happened today. Beşiktaş couldn't unlock Kayserispor defense for a long time and just when they found a goal it was disallowed. It affected morale but in extra time Ghezzal made a scene and scored a great winning goal. Weghorst's assist was important, he played like a target man in that position. Beşiktaş got well deserved three points, any other score could be unjust.
I think Gedson - Salih - Kartal midfield is weak in the long run but they manage it until Josef de Souza come back. Atiba was also unavailable today so Kartal got a chance in starting eleven for the first time in the league. He didn't play bad but he's not the ideal player for that position. This team need some more additions and adjustments if they really want to get the trophy.

Besiktas' victory against Kayserispor was a really hard-fought one. There were two red cards and Besiktas' winning goal came in the last moments of the stoppage time. It was one of the classic Super League games in short. It must be feeling nice for Besiktas to start with a win however they will still need to do better than this in the next games. Because this was barely enough for a 1-0 win. Otherwise this season wouldn't be much different than the previous one.

As you said starting the season with a win is the most important thing the major flaw in besiktas victory today is the amount of missed chances if they want to compete for the title they need to be more surgical so they do not lose easy points.

Beşiktaş won hard but got a nice victory. The new signings gave confidence to the fans with their good games. Romain Sais was alone in defense but he made a good appearance. Wout Weghorst was very enthusiastic. He can contribute a lot to team play this season. Gedson Fernandes was very dynamic. He can give a better performance when he plays with Joseph De Souza. Masuaku quickly got used to the team... In short, the team harmony of the new transfers was ensured. We can have a better year this year if we deal with the central defender problem that has been going on since last year.

After watching Trabzonspor's match, it was really stressful to watch the Besiktas - Kayserispor one.    Because it wasn't a very clean match I mean. In a match that we have seen two red cards, Besiktas hardly managed to win indeed. They were the better playing side also but the result wasn't just showing that. Today Galatasaray also are starting the new season with an Antalyaspor match. Antalyaspor are favoured by the bookies by a little gap now. But I feel like Galatasaray will win this somehow.

All of these referees were sacked last year, but a power that be emerged and reinstated them all. The result is obvious, we are experiencing the same as last year. These powers that be make whoever they want a champion. Keep watching the theatre. Doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results is pointless.
What can we talk about football here? We see the same referee mistakes all the time, we know that there is no mistake, it was done on purpose. Penalties not awarded again, cards that were wrong again, goals that were canceled again. We are so tired of this now. Isn't there a brave prosecutor in the country? The operation needs to be done like in Italy. Otherwise nothing will change.

Galatasaray will play with Antalyaspor tonight and say hello to the new season. Galatasaray's new transfers played very well in the friendly matches. Seferovic has already become a favorite of the fans with his goals. I have great expectations from Galatasaray this year. Because I believe we will become a better team with Dries Mertens and Lucas Torreira. They came to Istanbul today. I think they will benefit us a lot when they adapt to the team. Antalyaspor had an excellent series after Nuri Şahin became the coach. But I don't give them a chance against Galatasaray.
