That's right. Thanks for sharing your personal experience. I also had a great time with Zynga before, playing poker. I even thought I was a good poker player. I was able to raise my money so high. Certainly true and it really takes a courage to overcome it as it will also take a long process just to develop a new habit without getting ourselves tempted to engage in gambling activities. I understand the point of both and in fact as mentioned above one could play cheap tournaments between $0.1 and $1 to get the thrill of playing for real money, but in the case of poker you have to ask yourself, do you really get the thrill with this type of buyin? it's all up to oneself if you want to divert your mind from gambling there are many aspects that can help someone stay away from gambling such as busying daily activities with family or with our wives. but as the op said on the front page is a quite appropriate solution if someone really wants to stop playing real money gambling then he can try playing gambling with fake money. some ideas or suggestions may have been conveyed in this thread and it is very good for someone to apply this to their lifestyle so that they can get out of gambling and return to life with a better structure than before. In theory this is something that it could work, the issue is that the reality many times differ with what we can expect out of our theories, gambling with play money may seem like a good alternative as you are not spending money when you gamble and it may seem that over the long term you will reduce the amount of money you use to gamble, however most of the time things happen tin the opposite order, people begin to gamble with play money and then after some time they decide to use real money for their bets, so while using play money instead of regular money may seem like a good idea it is nowhere near as practical as it may seem.
