My predictions didn't work out in the first 2 matches. After Dortmund's heavy defeat against Bayern Munich at the weekend, I honestly didn't expect them to show much in this match. Newcastle United's form in the last few weeks was the biggest reason for me to make this prediction. I didn't expect Dortmund to play so well and win this match and it was a surprise for me. I must say that Dortmund got an important 6 points by beating the opponent in both matches.

@buwaytress, where are the odds from? I assume Rollbit? For some games they are quite different from SB.

Rollbit. You can see the date of odds taken too on each form right before you enter picks, with a link to the Rollbit UCL market. Some definitely changed a lot. I remember slaman complaining it was 9/1 for Galatasaray prematch but odds I entered were "only" 6.6.

@buwaytress, Some small error on the Borussia Dortmund vs Newcastle match on the UCL Predictor form. I think you forgot to delete Milan

Also, is it possible to add a setting on the form where the recorded responses can be sent to once email address? It can make it easier for one to know if they made a mistake or not after submission.

There is such a setting but it would force you to enter an email. Majority of users wouldn't want this. Besides, once submitted, no changes allowed (it's a reminder right on the form before you submit). Sorry =)

Seems like my predictions are going to be wrong of the first two matches. Gradually my position is going down on the Superbru pool. For the Pot B submission, I have staked all my points on PSG in this round. I had staked the points on different matches in the previous rounds, but I'm not happy with the results. Hopefully, PSG won't make me disappointed today.

Not just you! I was the same in the first two matches I was wrong in Superbru, I started to lose my position and waited for the results of the other matches.

If I'm not mistaken I bet some on AC Milan, unfortunately I can't open the sheet because of bad signals, you expect all the submissions in Pot B on PSG with all the points is good.

I wonder what it takes to pick out such matches knowing very well what firepower the other team brings to the table..otherwise Shakhtar was ready for this dance and lucky enough came out victors!!

I guess the formula is to go for teams that have pulled some upsets before to catch big winners as Shakhtar have done it before just like @logfiles said.

seeing first two matches, and yeah, there is not much to hope for in this round in PotB
in Superbru, I am already sliding, so nothing worse than usual

Damn, congrats on the Shakhtar bet Hhampuz. @mv1986, I know how you feel - but these bets are Hail Marys that rarely work - so long-term it is actually smart to avoid them.

It's really hard to compete in such pools against a lot of people, it happens soon enough that a lot of players have nothing to play for. Every round there are a few 7+ odds, when you have 30 people out of the prizes, that's 30 people hunting for upsets with full balance.

If we had to stack our own 10 mBTC each round, I'm sure we would not see such bets. But considering it's free, it's something that has to be taken into account. There will be stuff like this every round from now on.

My first pick did not go as expected, Newcastle should have won Dortmund, but they were looking worn out, ,maybe from the stress of playing Arsenal. Dortmund were looking sharper from kick off, and they deserved the win.

Yeah I mean consider it as part of the variance. When you are not even close to top 20 then I guess this kind of risky play is a good way to get a head start for alot of points. Group stage is also the moment to do this because after the group stage, I doubt that we will even be getting odds close to 4 for most of the match so that means 2 more MD for group stage and Im expecting some people to be even wilder next round

Crazy to see that Shakhtar won against Barcelona, and it is even more crazy to see someone putting all ten stakes on this result!  
Risk sometimes pays off big time, but there is six more rounds to play and plenty of chances to see big changes in leaderboard.
I was thinking of backing Dortmund with all ten stakes, but I went with safer option instead with Porto and Napoli.
This is not enough for first place but I am running a marathon, not a sprint

It was mostly dumb luck but after looking at all the games going on this MD - it seemed to be the most likely if you looked at the odds. Shakhtar at "home" for 10x odds? Seems a bit ridiculous considering how the last game between these two ended. Not going to call myself a genius by any means but I was almost forced to make a pick like this after how the last two rounds for me went (basically no points won). Will have to play it safer moving forward to protect the lead now

But Barca today played really shit, similar like against Real Sociedas last weekend, but this time we got deserved defeats. This result means that Porto is still alive in fight for 1st place and Shakhtar also improved their chances to go through.
Situation in death group is crazy interesting after today's results. Milan - PSG games was something awesome and after this win they're stil alive.
A bit disappointed by Porto, I wanted more goals in this game. While Pepe becomes oldest ever CL goal scorer at 40 years of age. Never liked him, but it's crazy that he is still 90 minutes player at strong CL team.
And Lazio - Feyenoord, not that Feyenoord played bad, but I needed goal from them, not profitable day at all ;/

95 points is really amazing. Congratulations Hhampuz. I was also searching for a surprise match in this round. I was indecisive between Shakhtar and Sevilla. Both of them had 9.5 odds however I made my choice as Sevilla by trusting Sergio Ramos. I'm very regretful now. I hope that Sevilla made me win 95 points as well tomorrow by winning surprisingly.

I tried a little to do this, but I failed everything, the maximum I could get is around 16 points - but I doubt everything.

Hhampuz wow. I'm Barca fan so never in my life I could pick a loss for my team, not even a draw. But well done. In all actuality, this was not a great shock if you saw Barca last couple games, including Champions League... we were playing badly relying on young stars. This I hope is our wakeup call.

And there is even a usual a trend for Man City or Guardiola's team tend to lose when you least expect them to do so, and often after a big win too, so it wouldn't be a surprise to be honest.

Yes true but actually I hardly bet on City or against them. They lose 2-5 times per season. I can't pick which games these are. Anyway as soon as I learned Haaland playing I knew all hope was lost.

No points for me so far but what do you guys think of Sevilla chances? I see them like Morocco in World Cup.

I did really bad in Pot B yesterday as both Newcastle and PSG lost their games,however this time intensely strange I have done super well in Pot A and have come up 11 positions there,never have had such success in Superbru in the Champions League pool so I am happy for this while not all is lost also in Pot B as I got Lazio yesterday and tonight I have Real Sociedad and Napoli which should give me if they both win some another 5 points and I should be able to get over 10 points again in this round.

Damn Hampuz,the Pot B is getting out of hands here  .

Another meh week.  Just 7 points in pot 1 and nil at pot 2.  LOL.  I think I gotta start really watching these matches more and read up more closely on what's going on.  :/  I'm sooo lazy now.

They won the game 3 - 0 but yup.  Guardiola tends to tweak his squad too much against weaker squads to level and outfox them...  But he sometimes ends up leveling himself.

I was sure that Barcelona would lose points, so I also chose between a Shakhtar victory and a draw. As you can see, I also went all in, but I bet on a draw (I didn’t think that four Barcelona would be so bad).
Xavi continues to be extremely bad in European competitions (only 35% of victories), and by the way, given this defeat, the likelihood that Barcelona will not reach the 1/8 for the third time in a row is small, but still exists.
