After missing 85 points in the Leipzig match unluckily last week I have climbed to 9th place by winning 72 points thanks to Antwerp this week. However there is still a gap of more than 62 points between me and the leader Hhampuz. Except me jayce, Saint-loup and Pulsar77 also predicted Barcelona to lose. Congratulations to them as well.

Nice one, and again I was the coward this round because I was about to go for that pick. But it is probably just the subjective perception that leads one to believe this round could have been huge. I then saw Shakhtar and thought a 6.6 is quite attractive, still doesn't save me entirely, but it felt like more value for the stakes.

But well done @CLS63 and @Pulsar77. You had the guts I didn't!

Though, it's unbelievable how Barcelona is kicking the bucket these days. But these games are worth taking a risk when the favorite qualified already. I was misled by the Bayern game. I thought Bayern would play weaker but instead chose to deliver.

Did anyone placed big stakes gamble on Antwerp to win today?

A couple of folks did, and they really climbed up the leaderboard. They were Pulsar77 and CLS63.


The win by Royal Antwerp was for their fans and sweet revenge for the match day thrashing by Barça. I never thought about it from that angle since Barcelona had already qualified and have had inconsistent performances lately.

I failed to grab those 3.5 odds somewhere in the 85th minute for over 3.5 goals when the match was still 2:1 in favor of Royal Antwerp

Damn, both Borussia and Milan offer insanely attractive odds for those that will go all-in.

I wanted to go all in on Milan, then wanted to go 3-way (Milan win, Inter draw, Borussia win) and ultimately switched to 10 points 'safety' bet.

I hate picking teams to win in situations in which they don't need points at all - but I really feel that the pick I chose wins. It will still be enough only to defend the top 5 - and only unless Milan wins and half the people pick it.

Shame I didn't listen to myself, this time the risk would have paid off. I'm really surprised that there weren't any 'all in-s' on Milan though - the odds were too good for a Hail Mary.

I climbed to 3rd in Pot B and have cemented my 2nd spot in Pot A, so quite happy overall.
The fight with Ulven in Pot A will be really interesting, we have some distance from the rest and with less games to go, it will hopefully come down to the wire.

Ahh man i tried a "Hampuz" putting my 10 points on Shaktar, but didnt work, the money was again on the Barcelona rival. But how i can expect the Royal Antwerp winning, or the Barcelona losing against another weak team.

Well, due to personal reasons, I missed the entire round 6 of champions league games, but it's not like I was going to get a lot of points anyway.

I mean, who would've expected Barcelona to lose to Royal Antwerp of all teams? But they're not bad like last season.

Milan win at least brought me Southampton shirt
while weighting surprises, Antwerp was not an option, but Barcelona is obviously not playing some great football lately

yeah, Ulven is 25 globally, you are also top100, so it is great to see that some players from our pool are getting into top spots globally
looking at it that way, maybe my result to be near the bottom in this pool is just because of how good others are

I'm thinking of continuing the same way in last 16 round as well. Even though I was successful only in 1 round I'm very happy for being in 9th place. As Barcelona guaranteed qualifying from their group already I don't think it is a big surprise that they lost away. 7.20 odds were definitely worth a try.

3rd consecutive game week with zero points for me, I barely hanging by a thread in my position in the Pot B, while there is absolutely nothing to write home for Pot A, because it was quite another down trend for me, I'll probably have to focus my energy on pot be alone, and approach like a proper gamble, not the all egg in one basket approach that I've turned to over the last 2 game weeks.

Well done Pulsar77 and CLS63. Barca actually gifted two times in this pool, but unfortunately, as a fan of Blaugrana I could never understand to see these opportunities. Injuries everywhere, youngster dependency and not needing to win, this was a huge opportunity. Funny too Royal Antwerp gave me some great underdog wins before but I never ever once thought to support them.

LOL yeah kinda understand it. Its just pure nonsense that Antwerp managed to win against Barcelona but Manchester United cant win against Bayern Munich. Actually I was closely monitoring the livescore and when Barcelona scored on the injury time, I thought that we are not going to have any upsets for today lol then Antwerp managed to score again which was kinda surprising

Oh yeah and actually I was pretty close on choosing AC Milan for my pot B before decided to go for Shakhtar instead oh well 


Its safe to say that I got no chance on getting top 10 on pot B anymore so I guess its still to focus on pot A instead

I think I was pretty close. In my opinion, Bayern should have won after, firstly, they could not beat Copenhagen in a home game, and secondly, they suffered a crushing defeat from Eintracht. Here I had no doubts and was not at all worried about the result and was very surprised that Bayern won with only a score of 1-0.

Now an explanation of why I bet on draws in the games Newcastle - Milan and Dortmund - PSG. First of all, because it seemed to me that the odds for these outcomes were underestimated - for example, 4 in the second pair. This is a clear mistake (on the part of the bookmakers) since it was very important for Dotmund not to lose and maintain first place. Similarly, the first pair - both Newcastle and Milan (under the conditions of the game in Newcastle) are absolutely equal and both are interested in winning.

Now I had another (this time irrational) argument for these outcomes. I "knew" that PSG would advance to the next stage, but I didn't see them winning against Dortmund. From this I concluded that since PSG will play a draw, then Newcastle will not win their game = there will be a draw. Who would have thought that Milan would be lucky and be able to win away.

Overall, I'm happy with my analysis and the closeness to hitting the jackpot and drawing a withdrawal (like I did last year, hehe, if anyone remembers). Everything was decided by a small random, let's hope that next time it will be in my favor.

Risk gamble prediction sometimes pays off, but it is tricky to select the right team.
I think Pot B winner will be decided in the last round.

I am very happy with how many points I got in the Pot A as in Pot B I guess I did really bad with only just 5.6 points this match day.I find myself completely unsuspecting to be in top 10 after all match day for group stages have ended,this shows that the results have come mostly as predicted in the majority of the times and even in nights like the one of yesterday night an exact score from a draw or two can make a huge difference in a pool like this.

I hope this time to end in the prize spots although is very early to say as last year I had a bad experience missing for just one point to be in the prize spots by losing it all in the final two games of the competition.

The draw is mid December, we'll see then what kind of Hail Marys the bottom part of the Pot B can toss.

I really don't ever wish to change my love for my club but sometimes for sure I wish I didn't get this blindness of betting. Never ever placed a bet against Barca even when it seemed obvious, and that also hurts you in pool competition.

I didn't watch the game, way too late s at least I didn't get my heart smashed in real life.

I am waiting to see the draw in few days, but my early favorites to go in next round are Real Madrid and Bayern.
La Liga has most teams from all European countries, so there is good chance one of them could win the CL trophy this season

3 whole months of boring waiting, La Liga is not really looking hopeful for Barca, cup games is not my thing, I would really love to see us go to the final but I know nobody wants City or Real or Inter not to be there so lets see.

Matchday 7 and 8 are the Last 16 legs. 8 games each.
Matchday 9 will be the QF. 8 games.
Matchday 10 will be SF legs + Final. 5 games.

There are 125 matches in total being played in the Champions League and we have left 96 matches behind with the group stage. We have left nearly 77% of the pool behind if we look at it in terms of Pot A. If I understood the statement above correctly for Pot B we have left only the 60% part behind. Meaning if you are behind in Pot B your chance to climb upwards is much higher compared to Pot A.
