My bet on both teams to score for Estoril - Porto won but I made a big mistake by believing in Sporting to win this match.  

I predicted a difficult game for Sporting - and Boavista is always a difficult team. But I think most people didn't expect defeat, at least a draw.

What was quite deviated from my prediction was Porto vs Estoril, unexpectedly Estoril was able to take the lead in the first half, had Porto not been awarded a penalty in the 99th minute then they would have lost.

the problem with sporting is that they have become a team where they produce good players and sell and take the money and do not buy other good players, they are not a bad team, on the contrary they are a good team, but as long as they are with that type of movement in which they only sell their good players and don't buy good players to win the Portuguese league and get far in the champions league they will always be a team that just fights to stay in the second or third place of the Portuguese league in every season, of course there may be an exception season in which they will win the Portuguese league, but that will really be thanks to luck and it will be something that can happen in long intervals of time

Maybe Sporting started the season badly in the Liga Portugal but things aren't the same in the Champions League. They have been performing really effectively by defeating Frankfurt and Tottenham respectively. As they have a good advantage in the group now hopefully they will start to focus on their league also.

The gap with the leader is already 11 points now which is too much considering that we have left only 7 weeks behind. Sporting need to start a winning streak immediately to catch up with top places. It isn't impossible for them taking their Champions League performance into account.

Due to the fact that they were many years without winning and without being able to build a minimally competitive team, they accumulated a lot of debts. Therefore, at this moment, a good part of the profit obtained from the sale of players has to be used to pay the club's debts. Fortunately, they have managed to maintain a good balance in this regard. It also helps that they are one of the clubs with the most fans and history in Portuguese football.

Again Porto losing points against weak opponents and I think now that they are not serious title contenders for this year as they lack 5 points in just 7 games that have been played.Maybe they are more focused on the Champions League but they started it also in a very bad way,I think that they have good players but still are not harmonized to perfection as individually they can be even a better team than Benfica who is leading the standings.Benfica though plays extremely well and its players know each other really well thus harmonization between players is what have made them perform so well both in Champions and the Primeira Liga.

In Portugal this difference is not so big as not to be achieved. Now Benfica is playing very well and that can complicate things a lot. We'll see what happens when Porto and Benfica face each other in a few weeks' time.

Benfica is playing great at the moment, and I do think that they are closest to title this year, nevertheless, it is too early to say that they will have good form until the end, especially bearing in mind that this season will be broken apart by World Cup

most clubs are not use to it, to have to part of the season (German league has it every season), and that could rearrange standings after WC break-up

with all said, Benfica is close to secure next stage in CL as well, leaving Juventus behind, big success, but almost expected from last year QF member

The main game of this round will be Porto vs Braga.

FC Porto will face a Braga that is solid in the championship and that even has more wins than Porto in the last 10 official games between the two teams.
In turn, Braga have sustained confidence in a record of eight consecutive victories in all competitions and scoring a lot of goals.

Sporting 3-1 Gil Vicente
With 28,000 fans watching the game, Sporting won 3-1 against Gil Vicente. After several negative results for the Portuguese league, the Sporting team got a good offensive dynamic and returned to victories.

Porto 4-1 Braga
FC Porto returned to victories with a 4-1 victory over SC Braga by 4-1. Benfica couldn't go beyond a 0-0 draw with Guimarães. It was the first game of the season that Benfica didn't score a goal, and also the first draw, after a series of victories.

With that draw they missed a golden chance to have moved forward at a better gap in points between them and Porto although seeing both teams I think Benfica is the main contender to the title.Porto sure come back when I honestly didn't expect them to win against Braga let alone with a huge result of 4-1.

I think Braga tried to attack Porto and when you try to attack a team like Porto these are the consequences because Porto has much better players than Braga.I thought Braga would stay in defense and wait their moment but they thought why not take advantage of Porto recent bad results and that was their error.

that was a pretty good guess, even handicap +1.5 could have been a good bet on Guimarães with good odds because of how favorite Benfica were in that match, i couldn't bet against Benfica, they seemed way good and better than Guimarães, but it seems like after 3 losses Guimarães picked up a good pace.

The next sequence of games will not be easy for Benfica. He will now play with PSG in the Champions League, then he has a game with Rio Ave, then he will play again with PSG. Then there's an important game for the championship, against Porto. And soon after he will play with Juventus. This month is going to be tough.

Guimarães is a club that is always difficult against Benfica, regardless of their form. Of course, most of the time Benfica wins, but it's not always easy, and sometimes there is a draw.

Yesterday the three great clubs of Portugal played and they all won:

Santa Clara 1-2 Sporting
Sporting dominated the first half, managing to take the lead. In the second half, Santa Clara was more aggressive and made life very difficult for the lions, who only managed to score a goal towards the end.

Benfica 4-2 Rio Ave
With 60,000 fans, they were at Estádio da Luz (the biggest stadium in Portugal) for Benfica to comfortably win. With this result, Benfica reinforces the leadership of the championship.

Portimonense 0-2 Porto
This was the 16th consecutive victory for FC Porto against Portimonense. That manages to stay in second position chasing their rival Benfica.
