The girlfriend cannot demand around $40 million since her basis for such amount is without merit. Assuming that the person lost the entire amount, then the girlfriend is only entitled to $10,000 + damages. As a form of compromise, the person must at least pay some sort of damages on her part due to the theft that caused.

On the second issue, I would definitely abandon my training. My boss has no authority or whatsoever on the proceeds that I won personally on the gambling website. He is using his authority to abuse his power and demand some sort of funds on his part.

Clearly, respect isn't present in the relationship of the guy who stole money from his girlfriend. They don't know how to communicate well which lead to this scenario. I also don't agree to share an almost half of the chunk of his winnings to his girlfriend. It's still his own doing. He should take the credit and he should be the one to utilize it. But it's also improper to just give back what he technically stole. He could have share a reasonable amount as a way of giving thanks.

Regarding the boss and the employee, the employee could have a gentle-supportive personality in which as much as possible they avoid conflicts. If ever this is really the case, it'll be likely that he'll not enjoy his winning because of people pleasing. I do agree with you. In the first example it appears that the girlfriend was going out with a thief and that should have been enough to end the relationship, getting her money back was a bonus but hopefully some police action was taken with the crime being reported. I doubt there was any way to make up after that point. The second story to me seems like one of two things: either 16 million Naira is not enough to last you very long without a job (or they could have just quit) or the person was naive & foolish to share the money with their boss because they had zero claim to it, maybe they were working with such snakes it would have been more clever not to tell anyone.

When you are on gambling addiction and did really come into a point on which you are already stealing someones money even if she's your girlfriend then it is really just right that she would be asking
out for some share considering that its her money had been used for you to bet on.You wont really be able to win up money if you havent used her money which means that it is really just

Which is by the way the natural reaction when someone earns a big amount when they gamble, the very first thing you want to do is to tell them your success story with someone else because you want to share your happiness with them.
