For the first time, when I look at the offers on LocalBitcoins.com, there are a half-dozen currencies ahead of the US dollar, offering a higher price for Bitcoin than US dollar users.

Euros, South African Rands, New Zealand Dollars, Hong Kong Dollars, Polish Zloty, Malaysian Ringgits.

It is no longer just the US, EU or even China driving adoption.  There is a market for Bitcoins in major countries all over the world.

Its great that you were able to notice this as this the proof that  bitcoin along with other coins such as ethereum etc, are going to replace the current monetary system.

I don't think that cryptocurrency can replace the current monetary system because it would be hard for the countries to adopt cryptocurrencies as replacement because there are others who doesn't have a proper internet connection so transaction would be hard. There are countries that are behinnd the technology so it would be hard to introduce a new one if they don't even have access to the technology today. Besides, ethereum is for smart contracts and they don't have the same usage as bitcoin.

Not global currency totally, there are still some countries that don't accept bitcoin. Here in Philippines, there are still some establishment that don't accept bitcoin. Only few establishments and businesses accept bitcoin for transactions. I hope in the future, bitcoin can be used anywhere and anytime.
Those who companies accepted Bitcoin for transactions are the part of the Bitcoin community, they are also Bitcoin users and understand the future of Bitcoin. However, in my opinion, we should not to public much about accept Bitcoin, because it can attractive the attention of the government.

Bitcoin is already world wide currency. Every day i see more and more things selling by bitcoin. What is more interesting people don't buy this things you know why? Because bitcoin is worth more for them than a car, bike, etc. So we should draw conclusions.

I agree that bitcoin is more worthy than other things. So people don't wanna spend it now.I think bitcoin is already become world currency you can use BTC to anywhere if you have internet you can exchange BTC into any countries currency.

There are only few countries that accept bitcoin, but the bitcoin users are not only from countries which accept bitcoin, so I agree that bitcoin is already become a global currency. But if bitcoin is legalize by government, the adoption of bitcoin as payment option will grow faster. Now,  japan has give more attention to bitcoin, japan financial service agency has officially licensed 11 bitcoin exchanges as part of government's move to bring cryptocurrency trading under supervision.

Sepertinya sudah waktunya, kalau menurut saya lebih baik lump sum sekarang. 30/01/2024.

Despite of bitcoin popularity worldwide there are still a lot of country that doesn't accept or use bitcoins as payments just like our country. We know about bitcoins and many filipinos are actually earning it but we still have to sell or convert our bitcoin to our local money so that we can use it. There are no businesses and merchandisers accepts bitcoin here. So i can say that its not yet a global currency. I hope someday we can use bitcoin anywhere we go.

You should change bitcoin into your own currency because that is not the official currency of your currency most people don't know it yet, specially that the government is not formally recognizes BTC as the medium of payment while you are doing transactions in your locality. Like also when you have US dollar or other currency you should also need to change it in your local currency to do business in your locality.the important things is we have a local exchanging site that change BTC into local currency.

The reason why it is a world-wide currency not because there are folks employing it in whole lot of countries but instead it the concept of Bitcoin itself. It was created that way, to be used by people everywhere and however they see fit.

I think it is definitely on it's way to being a global currency but as of right now there aren't enough places that accept it (I expect it to grow in time though) I would like to see pretty much any online shop accept bitcoin when that happens retail stores will start accepting it more and more Smiley

It can become a large currency and then it will get regulated, which turns it into the same currency we have now but digital.

Bitcoin is opening its wings and flapping across the Globe. Several countries with huge populations are adopting it and creating a situation of 'excess demand'.
This is just a start. There is more to go for Bitcoin.

It's great! Soon we'll take over the world... soon...

Well I dont think it wll gives us the great opportunity , since local currencies has been the Monetary identity of each country that has been proven to undergo and used for medium of payments in every local or international trading. Given the fact that bitcoin is decentralized system, it is obviously contradicting on governments in which they will never allow anything abide their laws.

Not all countries can easily adopt bitcoin as currency, probably some countries need to build the infrastructure first before adopt bitcoin, basically bitcoin only need two things, device( smartphone/computer) and internet connection. Bitcoin can become solution for unbanked people. The countries which has good technology development like japan can easily adopt bitcoin.  I am sure that everyone can access  the internet in line of the development of technology, so there is no problem for bitcoin to become global currency.

- Yes, Bitcoin is not too popular and and is accepted everywhere in the world, it is still facing many barriers from many countries around the world, people still can not believe and fully accept it, only a few countries bring it into use in real life, however, this is just testing
- If bitcoin wants to become a global currency, I think it needs more effort to prove to people the value and potential of it, it must tell everyone to know that it is not one scam of the century, it is the future of the global currency

Yes we can consider bitcoin as a global cryptocurrency. I guess there is a difference between currency and crytocurrency. Having internet and basic knowledge is important to access bitcoin, if you have those doesn't mean you can already use bitcoin because there are some countries who bans bitcoin.

Looks like there is only one way for bitcoin to go, and that is to become the global currency. More and more are learning about bitcoin everyday, and once they knew about it, the more thay wanna get into it, and the more they're into it, the more investors bitcoin gets. At this stage, bitcoin is unstoppable, and nothing could stop it, even the biggest countries won't be able to do anything about its venture.
