A few days ago, Egyptian Premier league side club Modern Sports FC signed up a Nigerian local player Ismail Ayodele from Shooting Stars SC for an undisclosed amount this August. Lately the Egyptian club side has shown interest in Nigerian local players and they've been signing up players for their various clubs. This shows how talented Nigerians are and are a centre of attraction to many countries out there who are willing to pay to get them in their team to play for them.

This has been the case! Our doctors go outside Nigeria and do exploits and on, but here in Nigeria the environment to display these level of expertise is not there. And these people at the top don't just Care. As for football, by now NPFL would have been a great privilege where becoming an NPFL footballer means rosery like other well doing leagues and some internationally known players would even like to spend some time of there carrier but that is for now impossible. It's just like traveling out of the country for menial labor.

I love the fact that African countries are now seeing the need to embrace their leagues just like the Europeans. For the Egyptian club to sign a player from the Nigerian league mean that they have seen how talented the player is. The Nigerian teams should also learn to sign players outside the Nigerian league so that it will also create a balance between African players. CAF should put more interest in the local leagues so that they can create an atmosphere where teams can be signing players across the leagues in Africa. However, Nigeria is always a pace setter in African football even though our leagues is still developing. Apart from the South Africa league and the Morroco league, Nigerian league has many quality players that can even play at international level.

Signing players from other African countries can be possible but bringing them to Nigeria is not possible because the system of football in Nigeria is different from that of other countries, in Nigeria footballis not played in a neutralground but controlled by political interference.
A player in the Nigerian Premier league can play for months without being paid because they know and understand the system of Nigerians football which am sure a player from other African countries won't understand.
In Nigeria today I can't say they have a corruption free football system as everything consigning Nigerians football is controlled and manipulated by politics when is not meant to be so.

I no that our sports system has been accommodating politics on there management but however they're not that poor that they cannot sign players within Africa to come to Nigeria and play for them, already we have some few foreign players in some of the club in Nigeria, i think Remo stars have two foreign players, one from Ghana and the second from Benin and there are more other players from different countries in Nigeria, although i believe is not all the club that usually owe their players five months without paying them because some are actually consistent with monthly payments of their players.

Information reaching me that the collapsed player has died again in the hospital. This is bad. The young player has not achieved his dream or goal in life and life was short lived. A potential player in that matter. From the Sahara Reports group (National News Blog/Social media channel). He died after rushed back to the hospital. What a lost? May is Soul Rest in Peace.

Meaning he was on hospital bed before, well this is sad and may his soul rest in peace, I saw that headlines this morning about Chibuzo dead and the katsina United team Los it sad most especially saying young talents dieing in active duties like this.

May be autopsy will confirm the exact cause of his death, if it as a result of not fully treated before retuning to the pitch.
When I heard about this news it was heartbreaking for me, considering how young he is as a player he still have his career ahead of him, nobody is praying for such a young man passing way, such a painful exit, nobody knows what could be the cause of his death, but I must say it’s quite unfortunate, The Nigerian football have lost a very good player for the local League, may his loved once and family bear this loose, this days we keep hearing footballers collapsing on the pitch, Last time it was Eriksen who collapsed on the pitch, now we hear about Jamal Musiala who have collapsed on the pitch two consecutive times, and they didn’t loose their lifes.

The NPL have to take the health of this players seriously and giving them a good health attention, I’m completely sure that Nigeria lacks good health conditions for the Local League Players .

Though I like your logic but if Egypt or another African Nations signs players from Nigeria to their country to play for the Inter teams matches in the country, Nigeria can also do them same though I understood your analysis because what you said is the exact way things are happening in the country but I have also seen another African Nations players in the Nigeria football. What is happening in Nigeria football is not only in Nigeria but the whole Africa as a whole and if it is exempted, it will be few countries.

In the World Cup, Senegal football team was agitating for allowance owed to them by the government a d according to statement, that thing also contributed for their failure. And in Africa Nigeria has good players and when they join others they play well. It's the Football Federation Management team that is affecting Nigeria football performance.

The Nigeria premier League Football League Players are not doing bad in the various field of play, there have been massive improvements in scheduling and organizations. League management has been pushing hard to keep the season on track and  avoid the heavy fixtures pileup that plague past seasons.
Some of the main talking points of local fans includes- talent development: the NPFL players are highly talented that they excel in both local and international scenes though the miss out on the last African Cup Of Nations and also failed to qualify for the just concluded World Cup, some times failure is never a crime, only low ambition is bad, they failed to qualify is not because they are poor in playing but maybe the team lack depth.
The NPFL, is a breeding ground for raw talent and from this league they local players such as Wilfred Ndidi, Alex Iwobi, Victor Osimhen Played in the local before securing high-profile moves to Europe. The Nigeria premier League Football players are not doing bad because they have proven themselves in both local and international and they are still making wave in Europe.

The are really good players in the NPFL, and if the league starts treating their players better, the players would be more motivated in improving their skills and doing their best on the pitch and that can open doors of opportunities for both league players and the national team (super eagles of Nigeria)

The players are even trying their best because if they don't give out what they can do better, it may not be an avenue for them to be seen by the higher leagues and other reputable teams that could develop interest in picking up some of them who are more qualified and experienced in playing and also have a desiring skill they may wanted, avenue like this are where major players are being selected to play for big teams.

Wdym there's an improvement in the Nigerian premier league. The league is poorly mismanaged, that players, and referees are still being owed salary since last season. There's no proper funding to support the teams , in order for them to improve.  The condition of the team stadiums is poor, no broadcasting right/partnership, even teams that won trophies hasn't been paid fully.  The teams have to sell their best players just to earn money. Even our league is unpopular to most of we the citizens. The NPFL management said that they will increase the league winner prize money to 1billon naira, with how corrupted the NFF and NPFL Management are , I am not sure the winning team will receive up to that amount. The NPFL needs new restructuring from the management, clubs and the players.

You have said well. Some of those players are playing because they want to be in the higher teams a d leagues to play and not necessarily because they want to make money from where they are. And definitely if a local team player does well in the season, there is possiblity that he will be selected to play under 17, 20 teams in the nation and if they play well from there they will be in Super Eagles and from Super Eagles to the world. So they are trying their best to give them all.

Of course the NPFL has lots of skilled and talented players out there and you will agree with me that majority of the national team player's making waves out there are all local player's who got called up to represent the nation and they did performed excellently well to the point of getting signed by the English clubs.
One thing about the NPFL league is that they don't really take the welfare of their players serious. This is why the death toll of players on the pitch keeps increasing and yet the NPFL is silent about it. I believe if players are well taken care of, this issue of player's collapsing while on pitch would not be heard and players should be properly checked before permitted to feature in any match.

Hope you understand that the NPFL and the Super Eagles are not the same thing. The NPFL is taking about the Nigeria Professional Football League (the local league) and of course you should know that Super Eagles is the team that represents the nation at international football. So it is the Super Eagles that missed out on the African Cup of Nations and missed out on the World Cup and not the NPFL.

Please get your facts correct, Alex Iwobi didn’t come through the NPFL. Alex Iwobi is a product of Arsenal Academy. But if you think I’m lying that Alex Iwobi didn’t play in the NPFL, go ahead and tell me the team he played for in the local league.

Apart from some European leagues that enough money is invested on it i don't there is any leagues with quality players as that of the Nigerian Premier league. Nigeria is a country filled with great talents and many easily give up because of the way the league is manage but that does mean there are no good players there.  Just in the current transfer window some European teams signed great targets and they never considered it a wasted investment.
If not for the sentimental or political activities going on there i believe the Nigeria Premier League would have been recognised as one of the best leagues in the world.

Among all the Nigerian players currently at Europe, the most appealing player to me is Victor Osimhen. He is the most consistent player amoy them all, and he has a kind of aura that makes people talk about him. He has good finishing skills, that can attract every big team. However,Victor Osimhen has temper issue, and that's what making big teams not to come for him. He is a very good player, someone that can always get you goals and assist, but he lacks self control when he is angry. Most coaches don't like working with such men, and even they would have considered  his goal scoring ability, the fact that he may be rebellious to the team keeps pushing them away.

He is dreaming of making a move to the English premier league,  and I would have specifically love him to come to Arsenal, but with his temper issue, I am scared he may cause chaos in the dressing room and divide those players, and with the kind of unity in Arsenal right now, I won't want anything to happen to that group of players.

Although i believe is not all the club that usually owe their players five months without paying them because some are actually consistent with monthly payments of their players.
Nigeria premier league clubs make money from sponsorships and brand deals, they no longer depend fully on government funds to make money, sponsors like Eunisell give out Goal bonuses to players and assist certain clubs with funds that goes in as salaries to players. I've realized that what is happening on the inside of the NPL is larger than what we see from the outside, the league is not as local as it may appear to an average Nigerian, Eyimba, for instance, consistently pay players their monthly Salaries, the league is not really that bad as people believe it to be.

The major problem we the fans of the league is facing is the channels/apps t watch the league matches. And it is not that there is no money in the NFF. There is enough money to have a TV station to show their matches which other Africans countries are doing. Ghana in specific. There is no way when Ghana is playing their national league that, they don't show it in TV and it is free for all to watch. But in Nigeria the NFF is only interested to embezzle the funds to develop the sports. 28th of this Month which is next tomorrow on Friday, NPL will kick start and we are still contemplating where to watch them.

If it is the league, there is money because there are different sponsors but the officials and the NFF is not helping matters to make it .ore brighter.

Seriously, the NFF can do better with their match broadcasting. This is 21st century for christ sake but if you finally have alternative to watch our local league, you'll need some eye drops after the match. I don't know which camera model they are using to coverage the match but my phone camera can beat that by far and I'm not bragging. Let not talk about the commentary because even my village MC can do a decent job than those amateur they have on seat there. I'm not expecting them to be perfect but they aren't trying at all. Government do budgets for this things despite the corruption in the board but they aren't willing to spend penny to make the league better and attractive.

Yeah is a very important thing they are neglecting to do considering is the only league the country have, the only reason people are calling those leagues unpopular is because they wouldn't see any TV channel to watch them all the time because if there was a special channels on anything concerning them, a lot of attention would have been giving to them. However is not even only in Ghana that has their local sports channels but other countries also have it but is unfortunate that the only stable means we have seen to watch our premier League has been only to streem it online via the league handle.

Why will they help matters, do you think that those in NFF are there to make things right? Those guys are good example of what Nigerians call where Belle face, I think embezzlement is a culture in NFF, we only had it some how right those days, it is very difficult to have those whose plans is to make Nigeria national football better, these are the reasons why many Nigerians don't find anything about the Nigerian league interesting, the NFF that's supposed to put everything in order are busy chasing shadows, honestly this not go for a nation that want to showcase football talents to the world, I just hope the NFF have a rethink because many things has gone very wrong.
