Although their dresses doesn't look bad because even the white man that presented the sponsorship to them didn't look much difference from all the NPFL members and besides the problem is not about their physical look but their vision for the league is what we are scared of because if only they could dress however they like but are managing the resources of the Nigeria football league very well we are definitely going to be okay with them. Although what I think they might concentrate on doing is having there own sports channel because they wouldn't give there sponsors much publicity if the league remains very local.
I just don't have much to say about this, but what just happened is a welcome development, I don't care about what they wore or whatever, if they like they should wear rag that's their business, my concern is what to achieve at the end, of course when you look at them, you'll know that corruption has taken over them, but that a discussion for another day. Let's see how things improve from here, having their own sports channel is not a bad idea as you suggest, but can they think this way, except their sponsors, will be the ones to come up with such idea.

I couldn't agree more with you, this sponsorship agreement is great for the NPFL. The last time the NPFL had a title sponsor was almost 10 years ago, and it was Globacom as of that time. The duration of this deal is 3 years, but i hope it is successful for EuroMatch and they extend it at its expiration, three years from now. That said, the best part of this sponsorship deal is that the clubs would be getting a large chunk of the funds. Out of the $2.5m annual sponsorship funds, 60% of it would be shared between the 20 clubs each year, for the 3 years. This would introduce huge funds for the clubs, of which they could use to purchase players and also improve club infrastructure. I am really looking forward to how things would progress, but on face value, it is looking good. I will be really glad, if those funds are shared among the clubs. They could do it in such a way that, at the end of each season, each clubs will receive all their shares probably based on their position on the table. Or they could share it equally. One of the main problems of our local teams is that whenever they develop a star player, they will quickly sell him to Europe. Reason is because that's how they are able to generate revenue, example was the 2024 champions Remo stars. They sold almost 60% of their main players, which completely destroyed the project they've have been building for years. Everything collapsed for them, which got them relegated and I don't blame them, because they are trying to generate profits. With this sponsorship, each club will be pocketing $75k (₦100m+) , if they allocate 60% of money like you said , which will be enough for them to retain their developed players, run the club properly (interms of salaries, infrastructures, branding etc).

None of the sources have information on how the funds would be shared between the clubs, so it is safe to say that they have not yet developed a sharing formula, and when they do, that information would be available. Sharing it equally is fair, but even if they don't, the difference shouldn't be too huge between clubs. each club will be pocketing $75k (₦100m+) , if they allocate 60% of money like you said , which will be enough for them to retain their developed players, run the club properly (interms of salaries, infrastructures, branding etc).
Yes, around that amount. It would go a long way for the clubs, but players all over the world are constantly seeking better opportunities, both financially and for the careers. So it wouldn't stop players leaving if they fancy a better opportunity elsewhere, it happens globally.

Afrosport TV is streaming the matches and with this to watch them is okay now but not everyone have internet connection to stream live matches. Yesterday Rangers Int'l vs Katsina United played and the match ended up with1-1. Today again Abia Warriors vs Kun Khalifa by 9:00pm. Abia Warriors have the super powerto win the match. Those clubs thar were doing well last season has not yet come up. They struggling to come out.

Sponsorships and TV rights are not substantial for raising funds capable of running a club. Players have to be sold for a Nigerian club to generate enough money to keep the club in good shape. Also, every player in the Nigerian premier league desires to travel out and play for a European club, it's mainly a win win thing for the club, if the club refuses to sell the player,, his family would work with the scout and sign the deal. So, clubs cant risk losing such opportunities, trying to build a competent team.

I clicked the link to see for myself thinking it was a direct website link but it is a Facebook page requesting for login. For the first time I am seeing this that our local matches are streamed live via media platforms which I so much commend because the local league I know have not for once streamlined any local match except for international match played in the country. Then for the club's as you have spoken, it is just the usual way for clubs that did well previous season to resume a new season and start misbehaving just like what happened to the Falcon's the last WAFCON.

NPFL really needs to get a lot of things done, footballers doesn't play in the swimming pool or river and swimmers don't swim in the football field. Giving players the enabling environment is part of what brings out the best that's already in them. Together with the ministry of sports, the NPFL need that revolution that will go as far giving even under 17 of clubs the ground to exist and excel.
You actually made a very vital point, for the players to put in efforts they also need to be in a proper environment to train in order to bring out the best in them. If you compare them with standard teams you would see that the difference is just the environment that they train in and this has a huge impact on their performance, the NPFL needs to do better at this, they cannot expect much from just the little that's given to the players. There should be a better structure in making the proper facilities available for the players, a lot of times this might even be the reason for the under performance of the players and it is not really noticed. I will like to join these discussion because it draw my attention after i have read through it, it will not be bad if the NPFL putting more in seeing the players training in a conducive environment that will keep the players healthy or influence them in training hard without any obstructing them from not training, but if you want to analyze deeply without assumptions based on these discussion, if the hands of NPFL officials doesn't have such resources in making the environments players trained conducive for them, they still make use the environment they might found themselves and bad environment can't stop a player that is good not doing what he knows best, when he called upon to play, so i believe that, as far as the NPFL still exists from season to season, NPFL officials will surely see reasons to improve in all areas of NPFL.

It was the first day of the Nigeria premier football League new season, i also stream them online, but however there are teams whom there draw didn't happen as a surprise to me especially Enugu Rangers and Katsina United because even if any of them always find it easy on victory against other teams but with each other's it wouldn't be easy, so that's why Dadong goal for Katsina United didn't occur to me as win because I knew that Enugu Rangers will come with equalise, if I was someone who is use to playing draw match I would have won this match and Abia Warriors that also played 0:0 because the only match they have played with Kun Khalifat is two and they both won each other's.

We have calculated the amount each club will be pocketing, and it sounds nice to hear that it will bring good tidings to the clubs to perform to expectations, to buy players, and to settle players welfare. That's all good if the money is used for its purpose, not to be shared by club management. Because the problem we have in this country is that people are not doing the right thing with the money they were given. They first share it among themselves before it reaches what it is meant for. Don't be surprised, nothing gets to change from the way our local clubs are

The Nigerian Premier league has started with same old fashioned idea's that always gives a home to a win or a draw at most for a stronger team. I don't know if I would say its there cultural practices that all home teams must win in all occasions except in some situations but it is very difficult to occur. I will say they need to do something about it, I don’t know if its from the teams or a normal occurrence but that needs to stop so we will know if its because of political interference or anything else.

That's their tradition, and this mentality is the reason why they don't usually progress further in the Caf champions league and confredation. It's very tough to see an away team dominate and win the home team. Even if they mistakenly win , it will just be a difference of one or two goals. In a match day , out of the 10 games played home might win 80% while the rest will be draw or a lucky away win. The teams like Enugu ranger, Enyimba ,Kano pillers don't usually behave like a big team . Which is why at the end of the season the point gap between number 10 and 20 position will be small. This mentality of I can only win in my home must really change.

Currently Kano Pillar vs Niger Tornadoes are on the field playing. You can click the link above to watch the match. The match is just starting. As it is now, Niger Tornadoes is having more ball possession but I am predicting Kano Pillar to win the match because they have more legs than their opponent in the match. I don't think NFF have anything with this Afrosport TV, but I make more research on that if they are sponsored by NFF or it is a volunteer streaming. They stream all the matches in Africa Women Nations Cup.

Today's Matches. Doma United vs Enyimba. Base on the previous matches from 2023 to the current performance of the both teams, Doma United have the opportunity to win today's Match. Doma won Enyimba in 2023 and Enyimba won them in 2024 and currently, Doma United is at the top of the season table. That is to say there is a probably that Doma United to win today match and I predict and bet on Doma United to have a straight win.

To be honest, I don't know much about the Doma United team but I did a quick search and discovered they're from Gombe state. I knew about Gombe United as a team that represents Gombe state in the NPFL. So Gombe state basically have two teams playing in the NPFL but unfortunately both teams were relegated and now now, the Doma United made it back to the top league while the main Gombe United is still playing in the relegation. I don't know where this teams get their energy from when they come back from relegation to make themselves noticeable in the league. As usual, home teams hardly lose their match in this league, so Doma is likely to win or at least get a draw.

When it comes to all this state we always believe that the main team that's own by the states is usually the strong ones than any of there lower division but I'm very surprised that not only did Doma United outperform there state team but are also closely becoming the best team in the Nigerian premier football League, however considering they come from relegation the owner must have made a lot of investment on players to achieve this squad, Eyimba has become there third defeated team and possibly they would remain consistent till they won the trophy. However for this season relegation if Eyimba doesn't change there poor form they will be the ones to go there.

There is something about Nigerian's mentality as a whole when it comes to this phenomenon. We always believe that, when we're at home, we are the boss and we won't allow guests/outsiders to come best us. This mentality will make the home based team put in everything possible in winning. Meanwhile, the away team will be like, "if we lose, it's not bad; afterall, we are the away team". This mentality often influences not just the players, but the whole competition at large.

True, that mentality of players in the Nigerian premier league wanting to give their best only when they are home is wrong, they put in so much of effort at home and flop when they go away. Also i feel the Nigerian premier league should work on the low goal outcome in their matches, most games played in the Nigeria premier league end up in low goal turnout and any league without lots of goals end up becoming boring to fans, this goalless matches is mostly peculiar to African leagues from my observation they don’t always know how to score goals or rather they are often too defensive minded that they end up not putting pressure to attack and score goals, what makes football mostly interesting at times to fans is goal rush, if your league doesn’t produce lots of goals most bettors won’t want to gambling on your league games, fans too will find the league boring.

https://nannews.ng/euromatch-commits-7-5m-to-npfl-title-sponsorship/Saw this news on Facebook, then decided to research more on it, which came out to be true. This is a good thing for our local league, the money might be small but it's a sign of development. If these kind of sponsorship keep coming into the Nigerian football, there will be a big change in the payment structure, player welfare and sporting infrastructures. My only concern is that, this money is used for the interest of the league not into their pockets, because we know how corrupt the NPFL management are. So there must be proper accountability and transparency. What we need now is to get a proper tv right, to broadcast the matches when the season starts. If more money is flowing in the league, then we can begin to see how our league becomes better. The money does not even matter in most cases like this, than to see how committed those that are in charge are going to ensure things are working in place to make it more recognized, it is high time that will begin to appreciate our own local leagues, support team and also ensure that government also supported it, this can as well cover up on the financial challenges they may face along the line, we still hope to see a better Nigerian league that begin recognition just like the International leagues that are well-known. Money is very important because all management requirements are fulfilled by it and without money there is no mentality to do good, no matter how committed they are. Money also indicates business interest and trust in the league. Working with small sponsorships today can open the door to big sponsorships in the future. However, money alone will not improve the league unless the money is properly used to manage player salaries, match management, security, player medical facilities and game broadcasting. If there is no real improvement in these areas, the value of sponsorship decreases.
