The are really good players in the NPFL, and if the league starts treating their players better, the players would be more motivated in improving their skills and doing their best on the pitch and that can open doors of opportunities for both league players and the national team (super eagles of Nigeria)
NPFL really needs to get a lot of things done, footballers doesn't play in the swimming pool or river and swimmers don't swim in the football field. Giving players the enabling environment is part of what brings out the best that's already in them. Together with the ministry of sports, the NPFL need that revolution that will go as far giving even under 17 of clubs the ground to exist and excel.

You actually made a very vital point, for the players to put in efforts they also need to be in a proper environment to train in order to bring out the best in them. If you compare them with standard teams you would see that the difference is just the environment that they train in and this has a huge impact on their performance, the NPFL needs to do better at this, they cannot expect much from just the little that's given to the players. There should be a better structure in making the proper facilities available for the players, a lot of times this might even be the reason for the under performance of the players and it is not really noticed.

https://nannews.ng/euromatch-commits-7-5m-to-npfl-title-sponsorship/Saw this news on Facebook, then decided to research more on it, which came out to be true. This is a good thing for our local league, the money might be small but it's a sign of development. If these kind of sponsorship keep coming into the Nigerian football, there will be a big change in the payment structure, player welfare and sporting infrastructures. My only concern is that, this money is used for the interest of the league not into their pockets, because we know how corrupt the NPFL management are. So there must be proper accountability and transparency. What we need now is to get a proper tv right, to broadcast the matches when the season starts. If more money is flowing in the league, then we can begin to see how our league becomes better.

What I am concerned about is whether our Nigerian league matches can be broadcast live. If that can be done, it will draw Nigerians and outsides attention to put an eye on Nigerian league matches, to know the clubs and players whose performance is fabulous to recommend, to join the Super Eagles, Europa, Spanish, or Arab League

However, you have made a great argument, the NPFL must take a good step so that footballers can improve their game. Creating a favorable environment for players is the most important thing, the Ministry of Sports must give importance to football. When players of every age group, starting from the under-17, are selected well and an environment is created for playing, then only good players will be produced in the team. If every club is to survive, it must create a favorable environment from which players will emerge and there is no doubt that they will become the best in the world. I think if NPFL takes any such step, it is important to create opportunities from the club to the national level.

To develop this league to some certain level will require some serious effort. The problem isn’t just only about the members of the Nigeria football executive committee failing to develop the league, but also that many Nigerians don’t even have interest with Nigeria leagues, they don’t even know most of the players, the clubs, and every thing about the league. Europe football has taken over them making it difficult for the players and management to receive the support from the fans. The league lacks investors as most of the clubs are being run by the state Government. But if the People can actually invest in the league then it can also foster the development of the league.

The Nigerian Premier League has been deteriorating over the years, ranging from poor pitches, to unprofessional officials and the fans are even the worse. You can imagine beating up an official after the full time whistle because he didn't favour your team, most of the time the official will have to be escorted with security operatives. Before now, it's almost a impossible for a home side to lose at home but things are gradually changing. With more investments in the league, pitches will be fixed and gradually things will begin to take shape. I just hope some hands will not get in contact with the money so we don't start hearing stories that touches the heart regarding missing money.

I couldn't agree more with you, this sponsorship agreement is great for the NPFL. The last time the NPFL had a title sponsor was almost 10 years ago, and it was Globacom as of that time. The duration of this deal is 3 years, but i hope it is successful for EuroMatch and they extend it at its expiration, three years from now. That said, the best part of this sponsorship deal is that the clubs would be getting a large chunk of the funds. Out of the $2.5m annual sponsorship funds, 60% of it would be shared between the 20 clubs each year, for the 3 years. This would introduce huge funds for the clubs, of which they could use to purchase players and also improve club infrastructure. I am really looking forward to how things would progress, but on face value, it is looking good.

This is true,we don't have sponsors that is why our local league is not meeting global standards. We have a lot of prominent men who are billionaires in the country,I mean a lot of them yet they don't invest in the NPL rather they prefer to travel outside of the country to watch football. If those foreign countries that they are traveling to hadn't developed their leagues to global standards, will these rich folks travel to those countries to watch football? These rich folks can sponsor our local league because they have the ability. So they should assist the government because it's seems that the government can't shoulder the responsibility of sponsoring the NPL alone.

Over time mismanagement has become the greatest battle that anything sport in Nigeria have not conquered and no management team have face required punishment for such what is the guarantee that this set will not toe the part where others have taken. If our nation is serious the country populations and is enough to make this league one among the best where the entire world will show interest to watch as well sort for players.

Although their dresses doesn't look bad because even the white man that presented the sponsorship to them didn't look much difference from all the NPFL members and besides the problem is not about their physical look but their vision for the league is what we are scared of because if only they could dress however they like but are managing the resources of the Nigeria football league very well we are definitely going to be okay with them. Although what I think they might concentrate on doing is having there own sports channel because they wouldn't give there sponsors much publicity if the league remains very local.

This is a wacky way to judge the NFF, because of their clothing style, which is a Nigerian attire, it does not make them look tacky in any way. I understand how NFF can be, I'm not expecting too much to happen because we've seen their corruption when given money to build a mini stadium, and the budget was mismanaged, everything is on the internet with proof. With the new NFF subject, we can't talk really badly about them until we see them in action, change is constant, positive change.

Our league is sadly underated, most of us Nigerians are more interested about European leagues because of the ways that they have been able to package their leagues which are attracting quality endorsements and partnerships. If the same level of management and partnerships are seen in our local league I'm sure that it would channel our interests in our league, it would also open doors for football lovers outside the country and continent to have interest in our local league.

If they put the money into broadcasting themselves, more views can bring in the income they desire. And one more thing, transparency should be the talk of the day. We want to actually see what they used that money for. That money can go into improving the players.

The number of exceptional talents that are in this country is just too much, and many of these talents don't even have the chance of show causing their ability because of the poor coordination and mismanagement of public funds especially in the aspect of the office of the NFF president. If more money is flowing in the league, then we can begin to see how our league becomes better.
Pouring millions of liquid dollars into the league will not truly change anything other than making the players look neater on the pitch. Until the authorities take serious actions by clamping down on the obvious match fixing that kills the NPFL. The sponsorship of EuroMatch is commendable and the sharing percentage among clubs is good at least on paper but still pointless in my view because if the referees and other officials involved in officiating the games are still getting bribed behind closed doors to influence or determine the outcome of the game. Any club can buy all the best players and also make their stadium look beautiful, but as long as the fans can tell which team is guaranteed to win a match before even the kick off, then the respect the league desperately yearns for will never come.

If you have some balls in you we can go for a bet on this guys that, their are going to fail and not going to be anything different from their predecessor, let us not deceive ourselves or trying to create unnecessary discussions around this guy's, if you have being following up with the dramas around they selection and those that where rejected for the role even with their success records careers, this thing gave been politizes and we shouldn't overlook the impact of that on official performance on the job, is all about the money for them and not about expertise of job delivering.
