Messi keeps making history as he once again created the record of the oldest player to score a hat trick in the FIFA World Cup. I know that C. Ronaldo will also aim to register a goal which is why I'm considering betting Cristiano Ronaldo to score, just a moderate single bet. The result of the match will likely be Portugal to win DR Congo.

At the level of Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi, there is nothing like selfishness because they understand that the team winning the game is more important than their personal awards. Besides, if they had been selfish in their career, they wouldn't have gotten to where they are today. Ronaldo scoring tonight will only happen when he deserve to score and not out of desperation, so don't get me wrong. He is a very good forward and happens to know how to position himself to get the ball always.

I thought we would see Ronaldo in the second half. It might be difficult for a 41 yearrold Ronaldo to play  90 minutes. But ronaldo is very confident. Also, the fitness of a 41 year old ronaldo still seems to be good enough. Messi scored a hat-trick in their first match. I would expect at  least one goal from ronaldo today. Portugal's squad is also very strong. They have talented players like Bruno, Silva, Neto and  Vitinha. Portugal has a very strong midfield and attack.

I think starting them on the bench at the beginning of the match was a mistake. Or maybe they were trying to gauge the strength of the opponent, who might have been underestimated. The result doesn't really reflect a poor performance, but we might see that teams from smaller countries also have the quality to compete in big tournaments. 
Some teams ended up drawing, which will make the next matches a tough competition. Especially those in groups B, G, and H.

Maybe he underrated the opponents, thinking the players he choose to start would be enough to produce results in the first half before bringing in those players to complete the job, but that first match should've taught him a lesson he won't repeat again, it's the World Cup and no team should be underrated.
 Winning that match would've meant a lot to Spain but all hope is not lost yet cause they still remain the favourite to finish in the best position in their group but I hope the players and coach learnt from the Cabo Verde match, they need to if they want to do well in that group or go far in the tournament.

Luckily, the not-so-great result happened in the first match; there are still 2 group stage matches that I think could still work in Spain's favor. All the teams in group H have 1 point from the first match. The second and third matches might show us which team will advance to the next round. And we can't afford to make the mistake of underestimating the opponent in the upcoming matches.

Portugal has been able to score very quickly. They have scored with the first shots. Joao Neves scored from a great assist from Pedro Neto. It was a great header. Because social media is abuzz with discussion, it's certainly fueling the perception that FIFA is trying to get away with things like this involving Messi.

It's even funnier that after the foul, the camera went straight to FIFA president and he was laughing. Of course he knew the ref and VAR are not going to respond to the foul. I'm not totally surprised though, after all the last world cup an obvious foul was made and the referee looked away without even a yellow card for a deliberate handball. If this incident was flipped we all know what's going to happen to that player instantly, no VAR will be needed to give the verdict. FIFA has always given special treatment so someone like me isn't surprised.

Didn't watch the game even when I wanted to but couldn't because I was fast asleep. When I woke to check the internet and saw that Lionel Messi scored a hat trick, I became worried about how far Argentina can go since the team's leader is back at his best. But when I saw a clip of that foul on Algerian captain, I was shocked to learn that he wasn't shown a red card. That was obviously a red card offence and to learn that VAR didn't intervene after the incident I think raises a serious concern among football fans.

That tackle came from the back and from that position, Lionel Messi was obviously not gonna get the ball and his boots were up on the shin of the opposing player, I'm yet to see any analysis from any professional football official, player or ex player that tells otherwise. I don't want to believe that FIFA is rigged or will I saw hugely influenced but incidents like this aren't supposed to be debated on a global competition that's as important as the World Cup.

Sincerely, I just like the way the Africans are playing. Though few of them have lost there match, but they aren't making it easy for any of the other countries they are playing, unlike how it used to be before, that some African countries are just a walk over match anytime any day. I guess are changing, and that's how football should be.

If Portugal must win, then they should up there game and increase there quality. Of course, we know that a 1:0 lead is not so solid and does not guarantee you 3 points. The Congolese are also trying to create something even though it isn't easy. They are up against the best players of Europe, and we should be expecting a strong game for them to face.

That last minute equaliser was impressive.
I don't see anything wrong with Portugal (except maybe a bit of underestimating of their opponent) they still play well but Congo looked like a world class team as well in the first half.

They had to run quite a lot though as the Portuguese chose to possess the ball most of the time. Let's see if the Congolese have enough stamina left to score more or secure a draw.
