I'm among those who think that Argentina didn't deserve it that much, they had a very simple group where they were the only one of their level... plus they had a suspicious number of referee "favours" which always influenced the match in some way, so i think Spain's victory is doubly deserved.

Spain started the game against Argentina from the same place they finished with France. Just as the French players were unable to keep the ball in the France match, Argentina was far behind Spain in the ball possession ratio in the final match between Argentina and Spain. Spain probably made 24 attacks against Argentina, out of which 12 were on target shots, while Martine blocked 11 shots. But he had to concede a goal in the end. However, the way Spain performed in the final match, they deserved to be crowned World Cup champions. However, Argentina had to work very hard for 106 minutes (with 10 players at the end). Argentina might have wanted the match to be a draw and victory or defeat to be decided in the Tribec. But in the end, that was not the case. I must congratulate Spain for winning the World Cup.

How do you go on beating and punching Spain players when thry decide to celebrate. I saw Monila punching Rodri in the chest, I saw Paredes punching Garcia, the same with Gavi. The same for one of thier staffs hitting Daniel Olmo in the neck That was pure thuggery and bullying. He shouldn't only be red carded, he should be penalised by fifa and possibly banned. Glad to see that football won  the game.

Paredes is already one of the names I don't like in this sport. He just can't control his anger and there isn't only him like you also mentioned.

I don't really understand why Scaloni was crying during the press interview; did he really think his players deserved a chance in that game? That doesn't make any sense at all. Additionally, they can get very aggressive at times--- Peredes for instance, how did he result in throwing a punch on Garcia? Is that an attitude of a defending champion, and second position holder in the tournament? There's no way they expected to get results without putting in any effort.

Therefore I'm really happy that Spain won this title. They truly deserved it all the way! You should have seen the happiness in Spanish legends who were watching the game there.

Infact, I held my breath and counted down with the referee in the last +5 minutes extra time (after the first and second half extras), for the game to stay 1:0 till the last whistle was heard .

Argentina played very badly, or rather, they didn't play at all
I don't know what match you saw but I only saw Spain play with an incredible ball possession
The Argentine players simply looked very tired, standing still, walking instead of running.

Messi? Non-existent, the others useless... only fouls and yellow and red cards.
From my point of view, Spain deserved the victory.

Argentina should have received two red cards, as Paredes also committed several dangerous fouls. Argentina mentality was shattered as Spain dominated the game.
Messi was barely visible on the pitch, except in the final minutes. Argentina couldn't match Spain slick ball possession.

Of course, Leo parades was issued a red later on after the final whistle as he was caught in a brawl with Gavi and Eric Garcia of Spain. Honestly I was really shocked at how Argentina was playing yesterday, I never expected such kind of display from them against Spain in a World Cup final, during the early stages of the competition they were regarded as one of the best side playing a very good attacking football but I was really shocked as to the way they choose to  approach the game yesterday which I think they should have done better. Spain showed class and sticked to  their possession football, they try as much to keep Leo Messi silent during the game leaving the rest of the Argentine players clueless as they have been mostly depending on Leo Messi throughout the tournament to make the difference but yesterday they got caught off. I’m just trying to imagine what this Argentina team will be without Messi as he is nearing an international football retirement.

The issue of frequent refereeing, in my opinion, isn't a problem. We need to understand that Argentina's position, from the qualifying round until before they defeated England in the semifinals, was always against teams ranked below the top 10 in the FIFA standings. This means that only against England did they face a team ranked above the top 10 in the FIFA standings. This, in my opinion, is very unsportsmanlike. Therefore, in the match against England, Argentina must admit that they struggled to beat England.

This is one of the point i have made in some of my comments on the World cup, Argentina all along did seemed like they were not playing really tough teams and that has made it looked like they were getting it with some ease but the moments they had to face top teams that does looks like their equals, they started having challenge with a brilliant performance.

Spain did had a better performance through out the game as shown statistically and yes even before the final, they were really doing so great and did conceded lesser number of goals as they do have a really good defense that served as an advantage for them.

Spain impressed me more than any other country and I did not even get to notice their game play up on till when they played against Portugal in the round of 16 since then I began to fall in love with their style of football. There performances has been quite impressive and I like the way they are playing naturally without attacking their opponents like people that are desperate for the world cup. 7 goals in just 537 minutes with a non-world class team is crazy. For comparison, Kane scored 6 in 732 minutes and Messi scored 8 but in 853 minutes.

No matter which team wins, Spain or Argentina, this World Cup final will be the farewell of a legend and the beginning of a future legend. Yes, you understood correctly, I am talking about Messi and Yamal. This is undoubtedly a battle of two generations. On one side is Lionel Messi, who is probably playing his last World Cup, and on the other side is Lamine Yamal, who is reaching his first World Cup final. And this story is what makes the 2026 FIFA World Cup final special. Some may like Messi and support Argentina, while others may fall in love with the rising star and support Spain. So the accusations against FIFA must be right, but this time, they had too many eyes on them to see if they might want to manipulate the game as usual. Unlike Emiliano Martínez (although a keeper) who disrespectfully put the Golden gloves on his penis and shoved it to everyone.

This World Cup was indeed an eye opener. Unfortunately we can’t talk about Messi without inviting comparisons with Ronaldo and sparking a debate on who is the GOAT. I think both players are long past their prime and should not have been depended on by their teams in the World Cup. I never liked Emiliano Martinez. He is not good enough as a goalie to be that arrogant.

I watched the first half of this game and I can tell you categorically that Argentina was completely lost in the match, same thing that Spain did to France is what they did to Argentina as well..
In the first half of the match that I watch, Spain had full possession of the ball while Argentina players were simply running around the pitch including Messi, so when you say Argentina was more better, I completely disagree with you.

If Argentina was more better, they would have won the match, and you talked about Argentina playing a defensive game as what lead to their losing, what i have to say concerning that is that, it's Spain that forced Argentina into playing a defensive match, in football, when your opponent is always the one in possession and control of the ball, you are forced to go into defensive mode to atleast prevent him from scoring, that is exactly what happened to Argentina but unfortunately for them, even their defence couldn't stop Spain from getting the one goal they needed to win the match and become the world Cup champions of 2026.

Spain successfully executed the strategy they had set for themselves in this World Cup final. I could not have imagined before the match that they would be able to hold Argentina back so badly. No one could have imagined that Argentina, a team that was naturally an offensive player, would have suffered such a fate.
Argentina's defense was disoriented by Spain's offensive strategy, so they did not get much opportunity to play offensively. It is a pity for Messi that a talented player like him could not shine in this match because Spain had a different strategy to deal with him.

I was so upset watching yesterday's final that I felt like I wasn't watching Argentina vs. Spain but rather a weaker team vs. Spain. The way Argentina performed,Argentina played like they were going to lose in the World Cup final,while the way Spain countered and attacked made me think that Spain had the potential to be the champion of this World Cup and that Spain did what they were supposed to do. In other words,Spain was a team that could be the champion in this final and they became the champion.

I don't actually blame Enzo Fernandez for the Red card because he could not stand the possession and pressure Spain exerted on them and parades also was very aggressive, he almost got a red card too but I guess the reason the referee didn't give him was because they were playing short one already ( Enzo Fernandez Red card) and they were still suffering in the game so I think he just showed them Mercy. The final yesterday was not interesting.

I'm still suprised at how Spain managed to do it, the Argentine players were so clueless including Messi, it was a big shock to me and other spectators watching it together cause we all expected a wonderful display from both end but more from Argentina. However the match ended up being on sided with Spain dominating mostly if not more than 80% of the match.

 If I hadn't watch that match it would've been tough to believe if someone told me that till the full time Argentina could get a shot, even Messi that's the master of assist and a good goal scorer was helpless, Spain really tried in that game no one believed they'll be that tough. Drake would regret staking $1.5m on Argentina, well he's extremely rich so he might not feel the lose.
