The contract is for 3 years with Al Ahli. We can congratulate Firmino on a good pension. The player is of high quality, he could play in European clubs for a couple more years at the highest level, but apparently because of the last season in Liverpool offers were few.
Firmino is 31 years old and given his character he should maintain the sports discipline, which means 2-4 years of good game. Firmino can score and create chances and pass to the goal at the last moment, he is not "greedy", Salah helped a lot of goals.

Finally these rumors have come true and for Roberto Firmino must be very happy because he got such a big salary after leaving Liverpool at the end of the season. Joining Al-Ahli which is the Saudi league promotion team next season will certainly be a challenge for him and we will definitely be amazed by his quality.

I don't think it's bad news for Saudi Professional League this kind of thing happens in all leagues for sure not all players will choose money over career, maybe Lukaku still wants to keep competing in the European league nothing wrong with that right? This is not bad news because there are still many players and coaches that can still choose Al Hilal. Lukaku has the right to make decisions concerning his career and he has chosen not to move to the Saudi Pro League. I don't see that as a foolish decision, I have more respect for him now. It clearly shows that the Belgian is not moved by money. Many players cherish their stay in big leagues more than moving to a developing league because of money. Hakim Ziyech is now in a terrible situation. Failing a medical test will lead to less interest from prospective clubs which will make him lose worth. The medical condition was not disclosed but it will not be a problem if it was related to physical fitness because it could be worked on. But if it relates to health conditions, then he might require medical attention. If he fails to get another club before the beginning of next season, he would have to endure another challenging season with Chelsea where he didn't score any goal last season. The striker is not happy in Chelsea and needs to go somewhere else to resurrect his career.

It's possible, and why not? Only if he will get an offer from a good club. He may return again to the european league. He was not playing in arabian league forever. He will be able to leave saudi pro league once his contract gonna end.
I think that it's good for firmino to play there. He will be also getting so many new team mates. Mendy as another player that came from chelsea and he was coming from liverpool.

I can only imagine how many tv station will show this league games next season,  Europe league is becoming empty, players are now considering the Saudi Arabia league than some clubs in Europe. by the end of the transfers season would know how many will join the Saudi Arabia league. its true money can solve any problem. see how money has transformed the Saudi Arabia league to top league. It is not every day you going to hear that players fail in a medical test, for me this is really the first time I'm hearing it and It is very unfortunate that Hakim is the first player who have heard that failed a medical and was refused a move because of his health condition to a club that would have made him more richer. This would have been the most lucrative career decision of his life, but it is not going to happen and his value will even further drop more. In my place, there is what we describe as being affected by "village people", that is when something very good meant to change your life better that is supposed to come your way and is expected, just fails and is cut short for unpredictable reasons.  This is just what has happened to Hakim Ziyech.

Just want to correct your posts above, Marcelo Brozović did not receive €100m per season but for 3 seasons so €100m is accumulation for 3 years I found this information from several sources. Yeah reportedly more than 10 players are still on the offer some of them have refused while others have not reached an agreement, the transfer window is still available for the next 30 days so I'm sure at least 3-5 more players will come to Saudi Professional League. By the way besides star players, recruitment also leads to the top coach/manager like Al Nassr who has got a new coach.

Apparently it is the same problem that has been identified by PSG in the winter transfer window but it was announced to be an administrative issue. Hakim Ziyech has a problem in his knee and that's why Al Nasr rejected him.

Al Hilal, is a top-flight club that has always dominated the Saudi Pro League competition before this club was acquired by PIF. in the 2022/2023 season, Al Hilal experienced a decline in performance after they dominated the trophy for three consecutive seasons.

I don't know what caused their decline, it could be because they have a very busy schedule. or maybe it could be because other clubs are experiencing increased performance such as Al ittihad, Al Shabab and Al Nassr who are coming Ronaldo. but in the end, Al Ittihad was able to break Al Hilal's dominance. after the competition, Al Hilal tried to bring Messi to Saudi with the highest salary offer and even beat Ronaldo's salary. Rejection decisions aren't made lightly. If this was an injury that could be cured conservatively without surgery, he would probably still get a contract. But if they found severe damages in the knee joint, even when he gets surgery the probability is very high that he won't get fully back in shape. Since they are already paying these insane salaries, the last thing you want as a Saudi club is a player who then cannot even play to his full abilities.

But players joining the league are going to be ending their career their since their is no much attention on the league, most people don’t know about the League, so people don’t watch their matches, but with the players which clubs in Saudi league are signing now, they are trying to get public attention which am sure they will be getting it soon, they are really spending money on players.

For now they attract the attention but if they want people to stick around they will need to bring in new players continuously or otherwise the positive effect will decrease. but the question is whether this PR campaign is done because of their World Cup application 2030 or whether their plan is to really build the best league in the world with the money they have and pull away the public audiences from other continents in the world. But that would need tremendous resources over a long period of time and for now it is not clear if all their activities serve a plan that goes beyond the World Cup.

The people who run it all obviously don't count the money, so they don't spare huge sums of money, I don't think it's a problem for them. As for the World Cup bid in 2030 I think it is unrelated, look at Qatar, did they do that? No, but the tournament turned out amazing. They used a different strategy, doing everything for tourists, didn't develop their league, it resulted in them spending several times more money to develop the whole thing, but made very little money from it. It is not about making money out of hosting a tournament. It is about gaining influence in the social and political world, and through that also gain influence in the economic world. They don't care whether their hotels are booked. They care about their reputation. You can't compare Qatar with Saudi Arabia. Saudi Arabia is 200 times as big as Qatar and from that point of view it does at least make sense to have some infrastructure investment as not everything will have to be removed because it isn't needed. In Qatar almost nothing of what they have built was needed afterwards. Saudi Arabia probably has serious long term plans to build a league and to further domesticate the sport in their country. Qatar was a one time event. I don't know whether the tournament in Qatar actually was amazing. What I know is that people felt less comfortable moving freely in public because even if it seemed as if they weren't threatened, there is still this awkward feeling as a guest that you could do something wrong you don't even know about and end up in jail. I am not talking about the obvious things like taking drugs, that is the same in the USA or Mexico or Canada. But in general, it is different.

Whatever the plan is but I think the SPL plans long term and will keep tuning up their league with players from Europe.

They continue to fill their league with players from Europe who are almost retired or close to it, that much is obvious. They are trying to attract attention to the league, to lure in as many players as possible, but they only succeed in luring in the old ones who are going after the money.
