Even if Fulton is the champion, I don't see that he will be the one to give Inoue his first lost. He is not a heavy hitter in my opinion. His game plan was to play hard and grind, toe to toe. But that strategy won't work against Inoue because once Inoue touches that chin, Fulton might go down.
I remember when I shared this Bob Arum's statement before about the possibility of a clash between Inoue and Fulton in the future if the former will decide to move up weight if he wins the bantamweight unification against Paul Butler; "It’s Cruel And Unusual Punishment To Ask Anybody To Fight Inoue"Some critics against Arum described that statement as he's just protecting Inoue that's why he can't answer directly if he will allow that to happen. These critics think that Fulton will stop Inoue's stardom that's why Arum can't provide a definite response. Now that this fight is now materialized, and a rare situation where both Top Rank and TGB agree to do business, these critics that favor Fulton got what their want. I also not seeing Fulton will be the first boxer to give the Japanese monster's first defeat.

I watched some clips and highlights of Stephen Fulton's previous fights and all I can say is; "There's still time for him to think twice to withdraw from the fight against Naoya Inoue" Not degrading the champion here but Inoue will surely beat the champion Fulton here. How can Fulton even able to keep up with Inoue's insane speed while throwing strong punches at the same time? If Inoue will able to crash the defense of Fulton, say hello now to his deadly body blow, and for sure Fulton will feel that pain for the first time in his career.

According to one tweet Fulton already suggested they fight at 126. This is to put Inoue at a disadvantage while Inoue goes fighting without tuneup at 122. That's the first image I saw Inoue smiling by the way, looks like a K-pop singer.
You still able to see that smiling face? hehe. *I agree on that one though* Is this upcoming fight in May or there's no final for this thing? 122 lbs wont be that much of an issue i guess but for 126 then i highly doubt that it would be giving some significant effect on Inoue. Just like the rest been saying that i was for Akhmadaliev first before Fulton but it seems that they are in a hurry and i dont have doubts that they are really that confident and see up some ways on how to beat up Fulton. This do really looks interesting.

This might sound a little bit off but if we do look into that recent fight against butler then it did really go to distance and i would assume out that Fulton would might be still using up on the same stance or approach once he would fight Inoue inside the ring. They do have different styles and i dont like Butlers style and since this is really on different weight division then it might really affect up his speed and mobility but lets see on how they would be making adjustments.

so this will be the New territory for Naoya Inoue ? now from 118 He'll climb up to 122 to create a name in higher weight , can't wait to see His domination in this new division . Looking for Odd to put my bet as i did not expect Him climbing this soon but taking chance to win here is my take now This might sound a little bit off but if we do look into that recent fight against butler then it did really go to distance and i would assume out that Fulton would might be still using up on the same stance or approach once he would fight Inoue inside the ring.
this is something to prove inside the ring in fight day mate , while Fulton has a good stuff also yet Inoue has been the one who will take this fight

I think he wouldn't have a lot trouble to face Fulton, maybe the fight will end in decision. I believe the odds for Inoue to win via decision would be quite high around 2.00x - 3.00x. But it seems Fulton will face Figueroa first on February 26, if he lose this fight could be cancelled and Inoue will fight Figueroa instead.

He beat Figueroa the first time but it was controversial, so they will have to settle for a rematch. And yeah, still dangerous for Fulton, there are moments that I thought that he will go down in that first fight, but fortunately, his chin and legs are strong or shall we say that Figueroa punches doesn't have any sting. But if that is Inoue, it will be a different outcome for sure.

But I believe also that Inoue will win this since he's aiming to get another record which great milestone of his career. But the problem there if Fulton can win against Figueroa since if he lost on this fight maybe there are some changes might happen and camp Inoue might not be interested on this fight anymore.

We never see Inoue downplay his opponents, that is a true trait of great boxers, and definitely not overlooking Fulton because he is a champion. But he wants to challenge the best that's why he went against the champion in his first fight at 122 lbs. It Figueroa wins the belt then there will be a big change in the plans. Inoue will have to chance Figueroa now because what Inoue wants is to have a belt and unify 122 lbs same as what he did on bantamweight.

True mate inoue is a very humble and good boxer in current era as we all know how he handle and treat his opponents during the conference and on the final day of his fight he is so disciplined boxer. he is not a trash talker unlike others boxers. But in the ring he release the monster who are hiding inside of his body. Now he will bring the monster into higher division and want to prove that he can be a champion .

Now, he has to take it slowly, fight the champion first, and then if he wins here, he can go for another champion to unify the belt, and probably he will become an undisputed champion. Inoue is lucky that his path goes directly to challenging a champion, that's the benefit of being an undisputed champion in bantamweight division.

Although, he needs to prove this and I didn't really expect that Arum will agree to go directly agaisnt the champion, but it will all be worth it.

That's the most boxing fans want to see in the first place since I'm sure if this fight against Fulton won't be materialized, Bob Arum will surely receive some trash talk from his haters and obviously, these people will think that Bob is just saving his Japanese cash cow from hard and difficult fights. Now that this fight is almost 99% deal, never seen any comments now on some discussions on the boxing social media pages referring to saving the a** of Inoue from facing strong and tough opponents. As far as early predicted odds by some random analysts and sites are concerned, it seems Inoue will be the Favorite here.

This do really looks interesting. A slight increase in weight can significantly change the agility of a person. It's too early for Inoue to hit the wall yet, he's the real deal and it's just a few pounds but going to featherweight might actually be a different sphere already. Donaire is actually much faster than Fulton so if he made that guy fold, it can be easy for Inoue to also bring Fulton down. But because we have not seen him handle 122, it's risky that fact that he always wants to open up to lure his opponent so he could launch a counter.

As far as I know, the reason for this fight between Fulton and Inoue being able to push through is because of the canceled fight between Figueroa and Fulton that originally plan next month, February 26. That leads to 2 speculations that Fulton will face Inoue while Figueroa will face Mark Magsayo. Fast forward, the Fulton-Inoue match is already a done deal while Figuera-Magsayo is currently under process and maybe soon a close deal too.

Looking at the records, Inoue got a better record than Fulton. Fulton only got 8 KOs of his 21 wins while Inoue only got 3 opponents that reaches the judge's decision. Others say that the punching power of Inoue will be tested if it can retain its devastating power in heavier weight class but 122 isn't too far from 118 so I think Inoue's punching power can still be devastating in this weight division. I think this fight will be another victory for Inoue since Futon does not have much of as devasting punches as Inoue does. A slight increase in weight can significantly change the agility of a person. It's too early for Inoue to hit the wall yet, he's the real deal and it's just a few pounds but going to featherweight might actually be a different sphere already. True but I do not think that the 122 lbs can have a negative effect on Inoue's speed instead getting, I believe Inoue's punches will be a little heavier since he do not have to drain himself just to meet the weight requirement. And I believe Inoue will be comfortable in this weight division. Donaire is actually much faster than Fulton so if he made that guy fold, it can be easy for Inoue to also bring Fulton down. But because we have not seen him handle 122, it's risky that fact that he always wants to open up to lure his opponent so he could launch a counter.
I also think that Fulton needs to be smarter on this fight and need not confront Inoue head-on. He can use the ring to move around and evade those strong punches of Inoue and at the same time launching counter punches. But if Fulton fights Inoue head-on, I believe he won't last long.

Inoue just announced vacating the bantamweight then instantly got a match with Fulton. This isn't a final date yet so maybe the venue can also change later, it's not to Fulton's advantage to fight in Japan.
Everything about the Inoue-Fulton fight is not yet polished and the organizers are still taking their time to lock everything out including the venue and date to secure the profits of the fight but I can already say that this fight is already 80% complete, in this point, this is already a good news because just recently, Inoue got his undisputed title and now he is adding another fight in his career while having a debut at 122 lbs. Anyway, I think this fight won't happen for sure if WBO didn't gave Inoue the title of a super-champion to have a direct contact towards Fulton, but as well know, everything in the boxing industry now is a business first, so it's really not that surprising at all.

Same with other opponents he fight he should not downplay Fulton since he's still a champion there are power between on those fist that can knock him off if he think that every opponent is so easy for him. That's a good goal, I know he can do that at the right time. I wouldn't say his lucky, he has what it takes to go the champion directly as he held all the major belts at bantamweight. And then he has one of the cunning manager in Bob Arum that can pull strings and make his champion and cash cow fight for the belt in his first fight moving up in division. If I remember it correctly, he has done it with Manny as well, when moving up and facing David Diaz for the belt. And the fans are demanding this as well to see how Inoue will be in the next weight class against 1 of the 2 champion in this division.

Agree into this one. Its a business since from the start and they would really be setting out and permitting fights which they do know that could really give up some huge money. We know that we are currently on the hype in this Japanese monster which had been recently had become undisputed champion on 118 and now trying up to jump on 122 which do really looks interesting. If its 80% complete then its already considered as confirmed already although other informations arent really that been announced. Lets just wait until that time comes.
