^^ If I'm not mistaken, it should be in their contract to have blood testing under the WADA so ensure that both are clean. And for obvious reason, it will be random, and so they shouldn't complain about the one that is going to take their blood sample at any time, regardless if they are sleeping then they have to wake up. So there should be no issue. But I guess boxers doesn't want to have their blood taken, not sure what is the reason for that. Maybe it break their momentum or it's more psychological for them. And if you are clean then why you wouldn't be afraid of it? Doesn't make sense at all.
Agreed. These are all rumors to keep the fans' attention. Similar to mainstream news, these sportsnews media outlets also sometimes do not have anything to write anymore, so they begin creating rumors. In any case, the thread should have a poll. There might only be 3 voters for Fulton including me hehehe. It is head scratching why the champion's odds is 3.70 because it will be Inoue's first time to fight in super bantamweight, Fulton is also bigger, more athletic and has an intelligent jab which could be a problem for the Japanese fighter. My present prediciton. This might be a split decision win for Stephen Fulton. If only this fight will be held in Las Vegas, I would go the same with your pick. Don't have anything against Japan but whenever their boxers fight in their backyard they always win via decision, seldom I could see a foreigner wins by decision. A fight of this magnitude and if ever this goes to the full twelve rounds, I have Inoue the winner. ^^ Still a juicy odds i think. But for 12 rounds, can Fulton survive the power of Inoue? I'm not really worried about the outcome because I believe Inoue will win. The only question now is whether I'm willing to risk betting on a win by decision, considering Inoue has been so dominant. If he was able to KO Butler, who was trying to avoid exchanges with him, I think Fulton is at risk of getting KO'd if he goes toe to toe.

In any case though, as Inoue said, he said that he might not have face a boxer like Fulton before, but the same case could be said on Fulton himself. He hasn't face a monster in his career so it's all about even, although Fulton has the belt right now, but Inoue has the power to back up his trash talking. So still as juicy as for Fulton backers here. Or if he can dance 12 rounds and last, then still a good win for Inoue to win by decision.

If he was able to KO Butler, who was trying to avoid exchanges with him, I think Fulton is at risk of getting KO'd if he goes toe to toe. Well, Inoue knows perfectly all these details about Fulton, he knows that Fulton's forte is fighting from a distance, and I'm sure that Inoue will seek to corner Fulton, because Inoue will seek to fight up close, and since he knows how to move that's a plus for him. Personally, I am much more even with Inoue than with Fulton, so I trust more in the talent and ability that Inoue works on, he is also a calm boxer, he does not make a lot of noise like the others who usually praise this boxer, his discipline is what has taken him far, so if the fight came, without a doubt, I would bet everything on Inoue. Regarding the 12 round, it will be interesting because the boxer is always prepared for any eventuality, personally I have always seen that things can go well when it comes to Inoue, I have not seen this boxer do badly in any fight, I don't think this time will be the exception, I know that Fulton is a very good boxer, and he has everything to give him the fight, but I don't think he can, I don't know, maybe I have a lot of faith in Inoue, it's just that when we see an Inoue fight, he's always on his feet, his technique is intact, and I haven't seen Inoue get desperate and start hitting uncontrollably. This fight will be very beautiful, very exciting, Fulton has a lot of faith that he will win, and for him the best option for Inoe to welcome is him, this type of thing is what the boxer Fulton is convinced to do well, well, I think that Inoue will have many chances to win here, it is my speculation, and some colleagues who trained with me in boxing agree, in fact they like Inoue's style because he is calm. Footage shows Naoya Inoue turning sparring partners legs to jelly with thunderous powerAfter landing a brutal right hand-left hook combination, his sparring partner’s legs immediately turn to jelly and he falls down to the canvas.
Inoue shows restraint by walking back to his corner and allowing his opponent time to recover.
But, even as his sparring partner returns to his corner, he still appears unable to get his legs working properly, such was the venom behind Inoue’s punches.
This will not make for pleasant viewing for Inoue’s upcoming opponent, Stephen Fulton, as the pair are set to battle it out for the unified WBC and WBO super bantamweight world titles on July 25 in Japan.
As it stands, Inoue is unbeaten in 24 professional fights, with 21 knockouts and in his last outing he KO’d Paul Butler to claim the undisputed bantamweight world titles. Source: https://talksport.com/sport/boxing/1503920/and here something super interesting: Big drama in Tokyo as Naoya Inoue is labelled a cheat, Stephen Fulton could withdraw from boutThe highly anticipated showdown between WBC and WBO super bantamweight champion Stephen ‘Cool Boy’ Fulton 21-0 ( and three-weight world champion Naoya ‘Monster’ Inoue 24-0 (21) could be in jeopardy after the 29-year-old American’s coach accused the local hero of underhanded tactics in some of his previous bouts. The pair are set to fight at Ariake Arena in Tokyo, Japan on Tuesday night. In the months leading up to the bout both the Fulton and Inoue teams have been nothing but cordial too each other, speaking with underlying respect about the best facing the best. There has been no smack talk, no attempts to get under the other’s skin. Source: https://www.ringnews24.com/2023/07/22/big-drama-in-tokyo-as-naoya-inoue-is-labelled-a-cheat-stephen-fulton-could-withdraw-from-bout/Things are heating up, and since it is abnormal, this fight promises.

Fulton could just say it straight that he is afraid to get 1 loss record and will not fight Inoue but instead use his coach to accuse Inoue of being a cheat. A lame excuse and they really did it while the fight is 3 days away. This chicken had been watching too many movies starring Anton Margarito.
He had postponed the fight successfully in the past month by requesting an annoying WADA test. Now this. You really can tell whos the chicken.

It would be a huge disappointment if this bout will not happen just because Stephen Fulton chickened out, many things have surfaced now and it seems that he is indeed scared to fight Inoue and have his first loss in his career. Well then if that's the case, he could've vacated the belts already and fought in the next weight class even before the bout has been made as that would save not just his own time but to the opposing camp as well instead of making such stories and headlines like this while the fight is already near its schedule.

There is a possibility, remember Fulton is the natural of 122 pounds while the coming fight is Inoue's debut on that weight division. This mean Fulton is experienced on receiving punches from 122 lbs. opponent while Inoue's power punches is yet to be tested on the 122 lbs. division. Butler and Fulton are very different from each other. Butler is at 118 lbs. and not as tough and skilled as Fulton so it is not right to make Butler as base comparison for the fight result. Although I highly think that the fight will end up in a KO, there is also a possibility that the fight will end in a judge's hand. Fulton could just say it straight that he is afraid to get 1 loss record and will not fight Inoue but instead use his coach to accuse Inoue of being a cheat. It wasn't Fulton that wanted to back out but his trainer Wahid Rahim but Fulton reply with the quoted statement. “I talked to Fulton about my concerns and he asked me not to discuss my concerns,” Rahim explained. “Fulton said, ‘I don’t care if he has bricks in his gloves, I will still win’.

Yeah, and it will follow this two on their social media, fans are the one building this fan, perhaps there are promoters who have their own "army" to go to social media to hype this one. And it's really going to be very close indeed as we need to look at how Inoue will do at 122 lbs as he is going up in weight in an attempt to become a champion again. Fulton is the champion and very intelligent, so hopefully it will be a war inside the ring and Fulton will walk the talk here and not just another boxer who will fold because of the pressure coming from Inoue.

The both of them have never been knocked out before in their careers. However, my argument is if it reaches a decision, it will give a higher chance for Fulton to win than Inoue, I reckon. Inoue's best strategy here is to knock him out as early as he possibly can or else he gives Stephen Fulton some opportunities to collect points and win rounds.

When I watched the video of the coach making these statements, Fulton seemed caught off guard. The coach doesn't seem like the brightest mind and is coming up with crazy conspiracy theories to delegitimize Inoue's achievements. He also talked about Roy Jones Jr. being screwed in Korea as an example of why he didn't want the fight in Inoue's backyard. Is he aware that Japan and Korea are completely different countries? It would be like Inoue saying he doesn't want to fight in Canada because foreign fighters get screwed in the USA. Fulton is ultimately the one who is in charge and if the coach tries to obstruct the fight he should just get rid of him.

Yes, recently it was how the trainer of Inoue is wrapping his hands and Fulton coach says it's illegal. However, Inoue has fought in the US and no one has question about how they wrap his hands or something. As if the coach of Fulton is insinuating that Inoue is cheating like Margarito when he was caught with plaster of paris that makes his fist very hard like a cement. But I doubt that Inoue's coach is doing that, you can see that Inoue has God given talents why before he become a unified champion at 118 lbs.

^ That is a controversial statement by his coach, but it seems that Fulton is just shrugging his shoulder as if to tell this coach to shut up.
In any case, Fulton with or without that hand wraps, believes that he can and will beat Fulton as his own country in front of his crowd. So that is the mentality that Fulton has right now. No need from his coach to throw some rants on the media. Japanese is very respectful, but if you talk trash maybe we will see Inoue unleashes his full potential and power at super bantamweight as he might be agree with that statement.

He is already making excuses just in case Fulton loses; he already has one. There's a governing body that would ensure the fight is fair and square, so he doesn't need to worry about that. Besides, in the first place, Inoue would not think of cheating, as that would jeopardize his boxing career.

I believe Fulton in the end is really willing to take on Inoue and there will be no postponement. Inoue and his team will probably change the way they handle hand wraps according to US standards. Still, I am doubtful Fulton will withdraw if in case Inoue won't agree with the way hand wraps are done. Or Fulton could ask for more money so he could agree. Both teams and the promoter made a lot of sacrifices to make this fight and these simple stuffs should not be a major obstacle. Fulton agrees to come to Japan because of the big money offer and Inoue's #1 or #2 pound-for-pound ranking which would open the way for more opportunities should he win or at least make the fight close.

He made all the effort in training just to face Inoue; nothing would stop him from fighting the monster. Besides, a win here will put his name in the conversation of the greatest active boxers, so there's a big prize he would get once he successfully defends his title. Fulton's team is already showing signs of doubts on their chances because they are already throwing baseless accusations.

That's right maybe they see how lethal Inoue as a fighter and Fulton's camp didn't see any chance that their fighter could defeat Inoue so maybe they just do that accusation as lame excuse so that they can escape and will not tarnish their clean record. But even though they throw out some allegation still many doesn't believe it since fans just speculate that Fulton got afraid of Inoue. This is really crazy but if this fight would totally postponed then maybe Fulton will be in position since many might call him a coward.

Fulton's camp seems so tense and scared about the upcoming fight and lately, they have been throwing some foolish accusations just like what is said above and yet they don't have any evidence to support their claims that Inoue is indeed using PEDs or cheating like how Margarito did in the past. Can't they see that they are just making their image worse by making these claims? Fulton has been a reputable boxer and respected boxer at 122 because of what he achieved but all of that changed when he is scheduled to face Naoya Inoue. They just cannot hide their feelings that they are afraid to receive their first loss as it's quite evident that Inoue's chances to become the new unified champion is decent enough.

It's not that we cannot blame them for they are just thinking ahead to defend themselves if in the case of Fulton being defeated by the challenger, Naoya Inoue. But their way was just a bit off right from the start because throwing an allegation will definitely not help their situation as that will just make it worse. Furthermore, there's no need to accuse of something because the boxing industry has been more careful because of what happened in the past and certainly Inoue's camp will not do something careless.

With a wide SocMed that monitoring this event, it will be tough and a big challenge for both parties. Fulton's accusation will be addressed by Inoue's camp and I believe that Inoue will allow that negative insight for him. Though we will need to wait for any available updates if how both camps will handle this and how they will resolve it, But I'm still in the impression that Fulton will proceed and will defend his belt no matter what, maybe an excuse but in terms of the price that in stake now for Fulton, both money and career hypes will be the rewards.

I don't think Inoue's camp would put their fighter's hands in the dirt. The man is talented and was a force to be reckoned with in his previous weight class. He doesn't need to dope or add something to his gloves or hand wraps to win - he just need to have a good opening and basically training to carry himself. Fulton's camp is already fabricating excuses, but if it's something that turn out to be true, the match officials will be ready to stop the fight in a heartbeat.

For sure Inoue's camp doesn't want Inoue to be tag as dirty boxer, and they have been doing it right for many years. However, this might tainted his career with the whole allegations by Fulton camp. Although they have address it already, the accusations could linger and maybe Inoue's next opponent will closely monitor how they wrap him to see if there is some truthfulness in the allegations. But as fans we do hope that it is not true.
