Anyway i can't speak confidently for the other 70% of your portfolio, because yes many altcoins really pump during the bull run, but you have to be lucky to be hodling the one that's going to pump, and you also have to be very fast to sell, because a dump might follow afterwards.

Having said that, we cannot predict how much Bitcoin would appreciate in the next bull run/next halving, many predictions has been coming out of late, but they are basically just speculations, just accumulate as much as you can and we'd see, at least you are rest assured that your funds are safe in Bitcoin if you do your due diligence.

Now is not the time to sell or take profits even though the price is a little bullish but this is not an increase to go up to 2x because the journey is still long if you can hold it for a certain time it will be a winner as a holder.

We don't know what happens in 2024/25 but I will wait for the halving moment in 2024 and after that I will wait to see the next bullish.

I suggest you make a selling plan depending on the increase of your portfolio. For example, if your portfolio return is more than 10%, sell 20% of your coins, and so on. The calculation will obviously depends on your overall investment and the coins you own, there is no way to generalize it. If you do this, at least you can avoid a condition where you're too afraid to sell your coins because you keep hoping it will hit 2x but the market says otherwise. Even if it turns out that your calculation is not exactly right (it keeps pumping and you can potentially earn 3x if you hold all the way), there's no harm in doing that since you can always DCA again.

Don't be too confident with that, altcoins top ten list has changed drastically over the last few years. Just take a look at the previous bull run, you'll see different names and those who got kicked out are not doing well right now. If anything, you want to gamble and bet on 20x profits, you should probably look at coins/tokens with medium to small marketcap. Anyway, as long as you can afford the risk and prepare for the worst, I wish you good luck with that.

Buy at a low price and then sell at a high price. I still use this strategy even though the market is in a bullish condition, still with the main objective. Long-term investments expect more returns, your money will be stuck there for a long time until the expected returns come.

Only 10% considering that you invested 70% in altcoins? Consider yourself lucky that this percentage is not even higher, because most altcoins are completely meaningless and lose value even when the price of BTC rises. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that you should invest 100% in Bitcoin, but that you are taking a much greater risk by investing in altcoins.

I won't say it's impossible, but that would mean 1 BTC would be worth $280 000, and the last big bull run only pushed the price up about x3.5 from the previous ATH ($20 000 - 2017). I personally don't expect the price to go that high, but that's just my opinion and it doesn't have to be correct at all.

Only 10% considering that you invested 70% in altcoins? Consider yourself lucky that this percentage is not even higher, because most altcoins are completely meaningless and lose value even when the price of BTC rises. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that you should invest 100% in Bitcoin, but that you are taking a much greater risk by investing in altcoins.

I won't say it's impossible, but that would mean 1 BTC would be worth $280 000, and the last big bull run only pushed the price up about x3.5 from the previous ATH ($20 000 - 2017). It determined on what you have in mind, if you are into short term investment, its obvious that you have make some reasonable profit depending on the fraction you invested,  but long term investors want the increment to continue to accelerate so that they can make more profits,  so what long term investors concentrate is to ensure we have continuity acceleration of market so that mega profits can be realised. The decision is determined by you if you are running for long-term or short-term.

If weinvest to day and sell on ATH of 2025, assuming that the price of Bitcoin will double its current ATH then it is more likely, ($140,000/27500 = 5) 5x of the investment.  A 500% increase of investment after 2 years isn't bad at all.  That is like 20% interest monthly not compounded though.

I think the market will shift to Bull market months before the halving, hype build up before the halving happens, so I expect that the market will transition to bull market before the Bitcoin halving.

Yea I agree with your synopsis un_rank, Altcoins are a gamble whereas Bitcoin is not
a gamble. I converted all my altcoins to Bitcoin a few years ago, I no longer have to

It’s going to be a different kind of bull run this time around, recession lurking, FED’s growing and much more. Although I expect close to 4x return, I don’t see bitcoin moving to 10x. Only Alticoins mostly meme coins could grow into that.

Taking into consideration the last all time high? and like multiplying it with 2.5-2.6x (based on the last numbers that we are getting every 4 year high), maybe we can see a rough estimate as how big the next bull run will be in 2024/25. So maybe around $100k-$200k (this is a guess or estimate).

I'm not sure though why your portfolio just takes 30% of BTC. On the contrary, perhaps majority here could have more BTC in their pocket like 60% or more and then the rest is altcoins. Anyhow, yeah, we are still far from the next bull run, bitcoin halving is around last week of March to first week of April, so still have 12 months of continuing to DCA and stack sats. And then after the we can still accumulate even in the bull market. But obviously the time is right now since the price is still very cheap and easy to acquire.

For bitcoin? I'd expect 2x-3x of gain but not that much of 10x but who knows if that's going to be seen. So, if we're to calculate that 10x gain from now on so that would be around $200k-$280k for the next bull run.
That seems to be a lot but that's possible although our only contender is to know if that's gonna be seen once we're back on the bull run because if not, then we're good at whatever it is right now and you might get that 10x gain from the other investments that you've got on your portfolio. But my hope is that if bitcoin reaches $100k then I'd be good already with that and whatever gain that's going to come after that is already a bonus.

Better not to make yourself expecting on a particular point but its not bad to have those selling goals or border line on which you would consider on releasing it out.We do know that there's no specific target point on which the price could reach out on bull run times. This is why its better to diversify as much as you could if you had touched up altcoins too. Some do even considering on getting some low caps which could potentially be able to get 10-100x of the price but somehow it is really that risky to dive in but there are actually projects which are hidden gems which would really be possibly to be pumped up on this upcoming bull run.
There's no assurance though thats why dont really expect something like that so you wont really be that disappointed when the time comes and it didnt happened.

The least expectation is $100k per Bitcoin. This was the price predicted for last bull market but Bitcoin couldn't achieved that price. It now has to be moved to the next having that's incoming in 2024. Bitcoin trading at $100k isn't unrealistic because it reach a peak of $60k and above in the previous bull market that happened in 2021.

Therefore Bitcoin going back to that price and surpassing it won't be very difficult to achieved. With its current price a 10x is going to take us to $200k which isn't likely to happen. 10x can only come if the price falls further down and reach a new low. The $17k low can give us a 10x in the next bull market.

Taking into account the clues you are giving it seems you are expecting for the price of bitcoin to reach 300k, and while such level is not impossible to reach, it is too high if you ask me, a price twice as high as the previous all time high seems like a good enough level for me, this would mean a price of 140k to 150k for each bitcoin and profits of 5x to you, and if this is not enough for you the altcoins on your portfolio could help you to increase your profits even further, but this could be true only if those altcoins are any good.

Let's hope that it is the same as the past halving and that the price increases. It will begin to decline in the fourth quarter of the year before halving. Then, during and after the procedure, it will take a few months, 4 to 5 months, before it begins to rise again. This was the case before, and I hope all of us can ride this wave. That is why I started to store bitcoin right now, as I do spend part of my salary on it.

Well done lad but you probably might not see the kind of profits that would suit you in bitcoin until after its halving which is programmed to happen in 2024. So it would advise to diverse a proportion of the remaining 70% of altcoins into more altcoins. There are numerous projects out there you can invest in, you just need to give a good insight.

No one can predict the accurate price of bitcoin in the next ATH,but the best thing to do is for you to have a price target which you will be selling. Immediately bitcoin has reached your price target during the bull run,you can sell some portion of your bitcoin and wait again to buy at the next bear market. Just to clear things up , I am not expecting a 10x return on Bitcoin next bull run I meant 10x return on my overall portfolio.

It could be less but it could also be a lot higher if one of the altcoins I hold really does pump.

I am currently even on a few of the altcoins I hold and thinking of moving them into Bitcoin so that I can make Bitcoin around 50% of my portfolio.

I think Bitcoin will hit around $120k in 2025 but that will not be enough for me to sell I would rather accumulate more to the point where I own almost one full Bitcoin and then sell it in the 2029 bull run when I think will the price will be around $350k or more.

It's not a surprise that you're down, for those who bought last year bought slightly higher than what its price is at the moment. Don't panic, it's nothing to be worried about. Patience makes all things right when it comes to Bitcoin. My first experience of bull rally and its subsequent bear in 2017/18 was a frightening one. I couldn't imagine that at $18k+ Bitcoin could later dip to $3,200. It nevertheless still rose from that crash and hit $68k+ in 2021. My belief is that it will repeat the same thing it did in the past and new price will be set above $68k+

No matter how much you rely on past performance and patterns, the fact is that emerging factors such as pandemic, war and inflation along with the recent failures of large banks can significantly affect the global market, which includes the price of Bitcoin.

Look, I'm not saying that you can't profit from trading with altcoins, but that it's about the fact that there are fast pump&dump schemes where you have to react quickly. The fact that overall you are in a loss of 10% while Bitcoin went from $15k+ to $28k+ in just a few months speaks for itself. Even if i don't do this sort of diversification (Bitcoin and Altcoins), i think this moves makes more sense, it would mean in my own view that the 50% of your portfolio in Bitcoin is somewhat safe, whilst the other 50% in altcoins is unpredictable, if they pump and you are quick enough to sell, then good for you, but if they dump or do not appreciate, then your bad. But at least you've already secured 50% of your portfolio in an asset that has an actual utility.

I think Bitcoin will hit around $120k in 2025 but that will not be enough for me to sell I would rather accumulate more to the point where I own almost one full Bitcoin and then sell it in the 2029 bull run when I think will the price will be around $350k or more.

2029 is quite a long time from now, but we can just speculate and wait for what is ahead (if we are alive by then), but you are bullish on Bitcoin and so are many other people and myself as well, so we'd just continually accumulate and sell when we think is the right time to do so.

Bitcoin is a a gamble as well cause there is still some level of risk involved, for it to no longer be a gamble then there needs to be guaranteed profit at anytime you plan to sell.

I guess it depends what you mean by a Bitcoin bull-run. In 2019 price increased by more than 4x, but ultimately came back down to re-test near the lows in 2020. So in the short-term then maybe a 2x from here could be seen as realistic this year, but really I think it will be about 2024/2025 bull market that will see the real increase as well as ATH. At so far based on 4 year cycles this would be the prediction post halving.

It therefore completely depends on your time-frame. If you are looking for a "quick flip" 2x in value, then that may well be achieved this year already. But if you are hoping for something more like 10x then that could take many years, quite likely more than just a few imo. At least Bitcoin's "old ATH to new ATH" % gains have been decreasing since existence, so for 10x it may take many more years to come, even a decade.

I wouldn't really suggest the same thing but everyone has their own approach. I usually buy and hold as long as possible, I do not have a goal or a target because I believe that it should be going as high as possible and I wouldn't be really dealing with anything like that.

OP is just expecting 2x growth which he will be selling his BTC. It got to be bad if a short-term investor expects this gain but not got it. Maybe he needs the money fast unlike you who hold it for a long period of time.

People do really get the wrong idea about halving on which they do really expect that there would be some immediate pump on the time it do happens without even trying to look back on what happened on

Bad news for the crypto space is the biggest barrier that will very clearly affect the price of Bitcoin and if in the next two months there is no bad news that can affect the movement of Bitcoin in the market then surely an increase in price to $ 30K is a possibility because there is not much panic that arises in people who already hold Bitcoin now and who will try to buy into holding it long-term.

I like 70% for bitcoin and 30% for altcoins, which ensures both the profit and safety of our investment. But I'm a bit skeptical when you say you don't expect too much of the upcoming bull run. This is intended as asset diversification. If you only have one asset in your portfolio, it means that you will only consider one risk of profit fluctuation as well as one possible profit. Meanwhile, if you have two or three different assets in your portfolio, the risk of profit fluctuations can be minimized.

You can consider an asset diversification strategy to maintain profit stability and also minimize risk. That's fine of course, but only if you choose good assets in your portfolio. Yeah, $30k is possible within this month or at least next month April. And with all the negative things happening on the banking system, people are now into crypto specially bitcoin.

So I will not be surprised to see that at least at the end of the year, we can reach $50k. And that momentum will carry over till next year because that's when the bull run will start right after bitcoin halving. For now, let's just hope that nothing will happen in 2023, no black swan event that will cause the price to falter once more.

It determined on what you have in mind, if you are into short term investment, its obvious that you have make some reasonable profit depending on the fraction you invested,  but long term investors want the increment to continue to accelerate so that they can make more profits,  so what long term investors concentrate is to ensure we have continuity acceleration of market so that mega profits can be realised. The decision is determined by you if you are running for long-term or short-term.

The OP looks like he is into longer-terms because he said he is into crypto for more than a year now. If he managed to wait this long, then I think it's better to increase his target. He shouldn't sell at 2x or 3x only but over 5x might be a reasonable one.

As much as long-term investors want the price to rise, they must also ensure that they constantly increase the coins in their bags. They can achieve this by mostly doing a DCA without minding the price. I’m a believer that Bitcoin’s price is a 4-year fractal pattern. With this thinking I had expected a peak of $200K in December of 2021. Thus, I find your portfolio quite risky, and even though I don't know what altcoins you're holding, if I were you, I'd invest a greater percentage in Bitcoin. Moreover, the return the OP is expecting sounds quite extravagant. Personally, I mostly hold Bitcoin, and during this current bull-run, I managed to break even and surpass my DCA. I'd be happy if Bitcoin were to double in value within 2024.

While diversification is great for minimizing the risk of volatility in your investment returns, if I were you I'd only get 10% of the altcoin in my portfolio instead of 40%.
I tend to believe in bitcoin in the long term rather than altcoin. I honestly don't mean to ignored the potential of some altcoin in the long term, but for something safe in the long term then bitcoin is the best choice to dominate large part of my portfolio.

For you, some of the top altcoin in the top 10 market caps can be considered. But don't get too greedy because usually it won't last long and will be replaced by other altcoin. Take your profit when your target is reached, it is more recommended instead of long term hold especially on altcoin.

Similar to stocks, cryptocurrency has a bull and bear market cycle over four years. Nobody can predict how big the market will be in the bull and many predictions failed last time around. Additionally, I believe the bigger the price, the smaller the price multiplication, so manage your expectations carefully and have an early exit price in mind. Anything above 100k is good for bitcoin and above 30k is good for Ethereum

Depends on where you take it from, because I have seen it vary a lot. Like for example just the 2021 bull run could be considered a big example for this, I have seen it take it at 4k because in 2020 the lowest was 4k, then there are ones who took it at 10k because it was 10k after the halving and they were talking about how much it increased after the halving, and there were ones who took it at 20k-30k range because that is where it was when 2020 was ending, so 2021 should be considered where 2020 ended.

What happens is that defining of a concept like a bull market is always difficult, a bull market is considered to be underway if there is a rise on the price of most assets of a market and this last for a considerable amount of time, but what is a considerable amount of time? For some a few weeks or months could be enough to classify an upwards movement as a bull market, while there are other markets that move way more slowly and investors will need for such movement to take place for a year before they think of that movement as a bull market.

Of course you can set a different percentage than I said. That's about me, so you shouldn't do it if you expect a higher percentage of altcoins for diversification purposes.

Most importantly you should not make wild advice as financial advice, but be wise in making decisions. Bitcoin returns tend to be expected, but you should be patient about longer time frames.

Since you are holding for long term, I would really advice that you increase your bitcoin holding if possible and be mindful of the altcoins you are holding. The big question is that will the altcoins still worth it by next year?
Some altcoins obviously will not survive the bear till the bull run comes.
But if things work good and bitcoin happens to exceed its ATH of 69k, with the current price we have now you should how much you are expecting. But altcoins have the tendency of giving a better yield.

For the next coming year of 2024 there's an event will happen is the halving and there's a chance that we might experience again with the bitcoin price movement of the new ATH, for me its better to accumulate a lot of coins as long as you can because for the Bullrun of course that's the time all of your holdings become worth it. If you will take a look with the previous price ATH its always break the ATH so for the upcoming pump still no one knows, but the chance is still there.

Honestly it greatly depends on the sorts of attacks on Bitcoin we are gonna see the next couple years. In 2021 American investors were obsessed with the great entrepreneur turned market manipulator turned looney toon conspiracy theorist Elon Musk, and when he announced Tesla will no longer accept Bitcoin for payment (which was a complete non-event) all the Musk obsessed people freaked out and the price crashed, and around the same time China banned Bitcoin mining so that was a double whammy in the middle of the bull run that crashed the price down by 50% and it took the rest of the momentum of the bull run to just barely break the early-2021 ATH.


I could see in 2025 the US govt / regulators timing action against crypto to try to stall the bull market. Though they may not wait that long as they are already starting their attacks on the industry now. But if there is some big govt attack on the industry during the big bull year in late 2024 or 2025 we could see another fairly weak bull market like 2021. If nothing like that happens though I'd expect the next bull run to be about as big as the last one (cuz of diminishing returns we'd normally expect a significantly smaller one, all else being equal). Last one was 3.45x from old ATH, another 3.45x from current ATH is $238k. I'd put that as the max peak in 2025 if everything goes great, but more realistically probably $200k would be the peak of a good bull run, or if there is some sort of serious attack on the industry or serious market disruption where we get a weak bull run again maybe it'd top out at more like $150k.

I'm just hoping whatever s**t US regulators and govt are gonna pull on crypto industry gets put out in the open the next 12 months before the halving so by the time the bull market really gets going the regulatory landscape will at least be more settled. Though considering the SEC is making it obvious that their only intention is to sow chaos in the market and provide no guidance or regulatory clarity I'm guessing they are still gonna be making trouble unless Gensler gets kicked out and someone focused on doing their job rather than taking down the industry gets put in his place.


We gotta be a lot more conservative in estimates of bitcoin price growth these days as post-2017 it became too big to ignore and so whereas it used to be a get rich quick play every bull market now there are many very powerful entrenched powers that are very uneducated on Bitcoin or just scared of it so we should expect to see greater attacks on the industry and more anti-bitcoin/crypto misinformation. I'm expecting a much slower growth curve now that I had been expecting back in 2020. So my 2025 expectation isn't much higher than my original 2021 expectation. Also all the get rich quick speculators just pile into crap altcoins instead of Bitcoin cuz they don't know what they are doing so that steals some of the old extreme bull run explosiveness Bitcoin used to have. Bitcoin has moved into a store of value investment and its get rich quick days are over. Some people in 2021 were expecting $300k, but it won't get close to that even in 2025, it won't be until 2028/29 that we see $300k+. The only thing that would change this is if US politicians get educated on Bitcoin at some point and the US govt starts supporting Bitcoin, but I think that'll take a much longer time to happen.

Yes I did confirm in my first post that majority of portfolio is currently altcoins but looking to change that and make Bitcoin 60-70% and then the rest altcoins.

My main altcoins are Quant, Polygon, Algorand & Hedera I then have a few others that are only a small part of portfolio.

I did something like that back in the day after the bear started. My portfolio was more like 50% bitcoin and 20-30% ethereum and rest in other alts during last bear period, then the price of bitcoin went up and everything was amazing for a while and I made insane returns on alts, so I bought more and more alts during 2021 bull period.

When the bear started, I started to sell off my alts and now I am back at 50%+ bitcoin and 30% or so in ethereum, that is how I feel fine during bad periods because I trust that those two will be fine, and the rest could be in trouble. That's of course only valid as long as you make it valid, like if you keep track of that carefully.

If it's just a kind of speculation, we can also make predictions according to existing data. Predictions are made to find out where the market will go according to matching existing data, technical and fundamental analysis will never make predictions. Predictions only help, but will not be 100% accurate.
But at least we can read the market even if it's not entirely correct.

But I think we should be more realistic, that's no longer an optimism but an illusion. The banking system is in serious trouble, but it's only a small fraction of the millions of banks in the world, so the banking crisis won't take a huge hit for bitcoin. The banking system will be repaired and will still be the choice of most people, bitcoin is unlikely to replace the traditional financial system in the near future.

I will agree with you on this, I am someone who does not expect a bull season to happen anytime soon, what I care about is how much bitcoin I will have in my pocket when the bull season comes. In fact, it is always better to find more sources of money like freelance jobs and to begin with, try to collect a capital , then prepare different strategies for each market’s condition.

In addition to that, it is always to invest all your amount to one coins. It’s true that converting what you have into Bitcoin is profitable in most of the time especially in long term but probably better opportunities will come to you in the near future. It's a cycle though, bulls and bear market, so in any case there will be a bull run, a final catalyst will be the block halving which is still still a year from now. We can look at bitcoin's previous history, like you have said, in 2017, it was under $1k and then goes off to $19k, that is a huge growth. But you can really compare it's massive growth every bull cycle though, because it's going to be very difficult to hit that multiplier. The growth will somewhat slow down. All those people who were not sure about what's going to happen, will end up regretting this and should be pretty upset about it when the time comes. You must clearly decide whether to engage in bitcoin or crypto, so there are many images to reach a decision, ideally you should have assets in bitcoin with many advantages compared to other crypto.

My assumption is that you are holding more altcoins so your portfolio is down 10% or it is possible that you can buy bitcoins above the current price but that is far unlikely as the current bitcoin price is rising higher than the previous price.

Bitcoin is much more profitable to hold in the long term, a portfolio drop of 10% as you mean will not put you at risk if you hold bitcoin and that's why bitcoin is much more reliable for long term investment.

What is everyone expecting in 2024/25 bull run? Is a 10x a good return or should we be hoping for more?

Personally I expect a much bigger return and a much more optimal accumulation for the next period. The halving is getting closer and hopefully we will see a new price for bitcoin.

The current price of bitcoin is just a third of the ATH of the moment. And I expect that price will easily be overthrown as the ATH in the next bull run. I expect the bull run in 2025 will easily double the ATH. So, you can expect at least x6 of your current investment. That is given that it follows the usual trend when Bitcoin is on the bull run. But do not put too much on this but take as much profit as you can on mini bull runs so you won't regret it when your expectation does not happen.

Many people hope for a bull run and soon reach a new ATH, but they don't have enough bitcoins, it's better for us to focus on continuing to buy so that when a bull run we get a real profit rather than just thinking bull run but not buying when the price is cheap like now.

The Bitcoin bull run is certainly happen, if not today that will happen tomorrow. But the main fact is that how much you have been able to collect Bitcoin. If you think your Bitcoin is adequate amount, you can feel comfortable, but those who have not yet been able to purchase Bitcoin will have no profit. It is not impossible to expect a good return on your investment in any bull market. When a bull market occurs, its previous high is exceeded.

It depends on how many bitcoins you have and we will see the next bullrun, if the price has reached ATH again, then conclude that you are ready to sell, but we don't know how high the next ATH will be? Is the 100K estimate the next reference? In fact, I thought it was maybe 3x more than the previous ATH. 

Now what you have to think about is bitcoin which must continue to be accumulated, while things are still not normal in our spending, so I have to be able to maintain how this is balanced while at least I hope this year bitcoin is not too high so that what is done with my DCA remains have a below normal price range.

Perhaps, we never know what will happen or how far the price of Bitcoin will reach this coming bull season, and seems to become realistic thinking that it is possible to just reach $80k. Even though I was optimistic about Bitcoin, the situation told us something that it was hard to go higher if investors are weak hands as they just sell when the price will pump. Because what it helps Bitcoin to reach far is when the majority will hold and wait for its peak but I have a bad feeling at this time, most of us are impatient.

$100k should be the minimum that the price can reach, when you consider how last bull market went, you'll realize that we can't be too optimistic because Bitcoin can disappoint and not even reach $100k by the end of the bull market although that's very unlikely. In 2021 many speculators thought the price will cross $100k that when the signs were there of a dump, many ignored.

We all thought $100k was coming and we kept on buying which has left many people in debt as they borrowed or took loans to invest hoping they'll profit when the price reaches $100k but it didn't happen. My prediction are still with in the range of $100k as I don't what to be too hopefully and get failed again.

Today I was thinking about Bitcoin and where it will finally go up. And I came to the conclusion that I don't really understand what is the right thing to do with Bitcoin after it will "go to the moon".

So I wanted to ask you all, what are you planing to do with bitcoin when it will go to 70k, 80k etc. Are you planing to sell it or you will keep holding it?
If you will sell it, at what price are you planning to do it?

As many people invest in Bitcoin, almost all people have the same idea that they will sell Bitcoin whenever it gives them a good profit.But whenever you invest in any cryptocurrency, you should always choose your target where you will sell the cryptocurrency.

In my opinion, if the price of Bitcoin goes between $80k and $90k, then Bitcoin should be sold there because in the cycle of more profits, many people lose their profits. No one has  seen the full bottom and no one has seen the full top If we sell Btc above 80k and then wait for dip to buy below 50k then i think it's very good strategy. Always love your profit.
