Man City is guilty of breaching Premier League financial rules between 2009/10 and 2017/18 and latest news is that Man City has lodged appeal against the financial misconduct they were found guilty of. This is very serious matter and it looks difficult that Man City will be able to avoid  strict punishment unless they do some solid defence not on football pitch but in the court of justice. This issue will defiantly have negative impact on players that may also result in losing the top position on points table.

What's happening with the club leaves me speechless. If there's corruption, theft, or anything like that, I'm the first to support them receiving the appropriate punishment. Is it painful to see that it's City? Yes, obviously, because the players aren't to blame for what happened. In the end, whose achievements will they take away? The players'? What's the fairest thing to do? Jail for the owners and those involved in this problem. Taking away the achievements doesn't make sense, because the players didn't know anything about it.

I've always criticized the way clubs are punished, but I don't know if the club owners ever learn their lesson.

I've always criticized the way clubs are punished, but I don't know if the club owners ever learn their lesson.

I also had this kind of perspective of yours that at the end it will not be fair on the players if they are really innocent. but the big question is are the players involved also innocent? I heard rumours that some players are also bought more that its shown to the public and we cannot say the players aren’t part of those backdoor deals.
Let the punishment be served. I believe the EPL has punished for ever offence and it will  be just if those punishments are being applied just as it should be.

I don’t support unfair decisions or judgement, but I also frown at  Cheating a system. Manchester should face the consequences.

I watched one AI generated video where Rio Ferdinand came to the Manchester City coach office to demand for an extra EPL medal , I think he was referring to that season Aguero scored that memorable goal on the last day of the league to win Manchester City the trophy. I saw Gerrard coming to demand for a medal as well and lastly Arteta but his own response was funny because his wasn't included in that period, it was a funny video, the message was, Manchester City should be stripped of the trophies they won in those period. If Manchester City is stripped as suggested, will the records of the players be erased as well?

If City gets a sanction their titles to be stripped, and their players are also losing their record. It's kinda weird if their players still keep their record while they don't have the trophies in their cabinet. Nevertheless, the narration in that AI generated video is obviously prompted by the creator of it.

So it's only acted like a sarcasm video. yet let EPL and EFL to decide what kind of sanctions will be given to City. Honestly, those videos are still speculation, and we have no clue what kind of sanction to be given by them because the case is still ongoing, and City is sending their appeal to EPL based on their new club statement.

There has to be something else to punish Manchester City with instead of stripping them off the trophies they won long time ago. English clubs will be happy to see them losing most of the trophies they had won during the time they spent those amounts on players but the  effect of the punishment will do a lot of damage to the league because their fans will no longer be happy to support them if they leave the league or get demoted. The players who was with Manchester City has their medals imagine asking them to return the medals they won when they are no longer withd the club thdt would not make sense. Points should be deducted from them and rhdy can even be relegated but their trophies should be allowed with them.

Football is unpredictable, but most of the time we see the stronger team winning and it is very rare to see a team winning unexpectedly. I will definitely put Manchester City ahead in this match, if this match was at Manchester City's home ground then I would definitely bet on Manchester City in this match. Since the match is at Liverpool's home ground, there is some uncertainty. At the moment City will never want to lose points because at the moment they will want to gain as many points as possible and move forward because their biggest opponent Arsenal is currently in the middle of an injury problem. Hopefully the result of the match will be City 2 - 1 Liverpool.

Liverpool lost in their last three matches against Manchester City, even at home.
As far as I can remember, Liverpool have not lost any of their last three league games against Manchester City. I am referring to 2025, when they played City at the Etihad in February, where they beat City 2-0. However, City later bounced back and won the next two games, 3-0 in November and 2-1 at Anfield in February. I agree that the current record is definitely in City's favour, but Liverpool losing three games in a row is not true. Even this match does not seem easy to predict for me based on previous results. City have won all their matches so far and are at the top with 15 points, so they are ahead in terms of form. But Liverpool have won two matches, drawn three and are still unbeaten in the league. Moreover, both teams have new coaches this time.

I have seen discussion of what will be the outcome of their investigation and I think many people are not paying attention to the things that happened to other clubs. What is happening around Manchester city is a different case and what we are expecting as the punishment will not concern the players, it will not even affect their careers because they know nothing about this. At the worst, the way Champions League ended its investigation is what Premier League will do.

Another thing we are not looking at is this investigation, this is not the end of the investigation. This will take another year maybe 2-3 or more years before they come to conclusion with how they are going to make a conclusion on the allegations because it will be unfair to make the calls and give them harsh punishment. The club is also owned by a billionaire, they aren't letting the club down.

I’m not against teams being punished for offenses, in fact I believe that punishment should be strong enough to discourage pubs from breaking the rules, but then again, it also needs to be practical. Having to rewrite the history of an entire season years after could technically bring up more serious issues to worry about, especially when other players, teams and managers have already moved on from the incident.

Manchester City is definitely the favorite to win this match, because they are in a better form compared to Liverpool,  but that does not mean that we should underestimate Liverpool. They are both big teams and sometimes this kind of match is played for pride. Liverpool is also at home and they should have the home advantage and the crowd, so they will want to do want to do well in front of their fan. I still think that Manchester City are the favorite,  but I will not be surprised if we get a different outcome.
Liverpool can't win the match, they can only try to draw if they want, but if it comes to winning the match, then I don't think they can win against Manchester City in any way. They have already drawn 3 of their last 5 matches, which means that they are not in very good form, but on the other hand, if we consider Manchester City, they are going through the new season unbeaten and are going through a very strong performance, and so I don't think Liverpool can win this match, Manchester City is much stronger than them, and so I also think that Manchester City will win the match despite the match being at Liverpool's home ground, but Liverpool will have the full aim of taking the match to a draw.

At the moment City will never want to lose points because at the moment they will want to gain as many points as possible and move forward because their biggest opponent Arsenal is currently in the middle of an injury problem. Hopefully the result of the match will be City 2 - 1 Liverpool.
You don't draw conclusion like that football is an unpredictable game you can't be sure of which team to win or not until the game is be played till full time, Liverpool could come up with a surprising win against manchester city no one can tell or manchester city could also win or the end the game in a draw, i know your reason why you concluded that manchester city is going to win because they have been playing unbeaten and also staying strong at the top of the table while Liverpool has already drop some points but you can't just this erase Liverpool from the angle of winning manchester city.

What do you mean by they aren’t letting the club down, can’t you see that the owners of Manchester city have already let the club down by involving in such a sham deals for almost a decade, they have deceived their fans into believing that they’re a decent club without knowing they aren’t one inside. The investigation has been done and They have been found guilty of 114 counts charges out of 115 already meaning that they did it. What’s next is the punishment or sanction to give to them if they failed to win their appeal against those charges of which they’ve been given 14 days to appeal and if their appeal lacks merit then the appropriate sanctions or judgement will be passed.

We are underestimating Liverpool under the new manager, while they have not lose any game in the Premier League this season. Manchester City is unbeaten with 5 wins, and Liverpool remain unbeaten as well. Anything can happen in this game, perhaps Liverpool can get a revenge this season after what they’ve been through against Manchester City last season. Liverpool will try their best to prevent Manchester City from getting a three point at Anfield.
We hope Liverpool can able to revenge what happened between them and Manchester City last season, because Manchester City performances is still active in this season once again. It’s truth that ever since Liverpool got the new managers they’ve been doing well, but we never know whether they can able to keep the performances up till end of the season. Liverpool match against Liverpool is coming up next week on 11th, we can see if Liverpool can able to revenge against Manchester City.

Manchester City has three points over Arsenal, even though they draw their next game against Liverpool, they will remain at the top of the table. Liverpool lost in their last three matches against Manchester City, even at home. But I believe this season will be different from what we saw at Anfield, even though they can’t win, they will fight for a draw.
Yeah, Manchester City remain in the top table with highest points after Arsenal had an unexpected defeat against Brighton in their last match. With the way Liverpool are in a better form now I’m expecting their upcoming match to be a tough one for both sides, because the both sides will struggle to win the match which might lead to draw as you stated earlier.

Yeah,  Manchester City really tried their best by winning their first 5 matches without losing or draw and i understand they conceded goals on those matches, the most mportant thing is they got all the 3 points playing home and away which makes them remain at the top table. Playing against Liverpool will be a very tough one for them, from my own opinion Man City might lose that match reason being that all their players mind isn't settled and due to the issues on ground concerning Manchester City i think this might affect them on their next match.

Another thing we are not looking at is this investigation, this is not the end of the investigation.

According to ruling of independent commission, Manchester City has breached financial rule. City has already filed appeal, but decision regarding sanction is still pending under separate process. Premier League itself has stated that charges have been proven, key issue now is what sanction will be imposed. Therefore saying that investigation has not yet reached any conclusion would spread confusion.

Better you could say, disciplinary finding has already been reached, but it cannot be termed the final outcome until appeal and sanction processes are concluded. And as for player, I wouldn't jump to conclusion so quickly. Whether individual player were involved is separate question. However there is no basis for attributing personal guilt to them for club's regulatory breach.

We should not forget about Liverpool in the 2024/25 season. They may have been struggling recently, but they are not a team to be underestimated yet. Liverpool are certainly capable of beating Manchester City at home, there is no reason to underestimate them in this match. There is no need to say much about Manchester City, because we already know about them.

The match will be very competitive, that is all we can say for now, but it is not yet certain which team will win and which team will dominate. City have not fought against any strong team except Manchester United, so it is not possible to say how they will play against a strong team like Liverpool.

Liverpool have not lost any match but that doesn't mean they are in great form. Liverpool have played five matches, and they have draw three out of the five matches played. That is not great form compared with Manchester City, who have not even drawn a single game out of the five matches they have played; they won all five. With that, it is clear that Liverpool are not in as good a form as Manchester City at the moment. That is why almost everyone I see is considering Manchester City the team with the higher chances of winning the match. It is not that some people are underestimating Liverpool or saying that Manchester City will be the clear winner of the match; that is just the fact based on their current form.

It is known that anything is possible in football, but that doesn't mean we should ignore our analysis when we identify a team as the favorite. If, at the end of the match, Liverpool are lucky and win the game, I will not be surprised because I know that even a weaker team can sometimes get a chance against a strong top team. But based on my current analysis, I don't see Liverpool having that much of a chance of beating Manchester City.

Do we think Guardiola knows a lot about these corrupt practices or was even part of it? something tells me that he left as the verdict was about to be passed which is more intentional than situational. It is not a new practice for Players to be bought for more than was made public, although England is strict on that. I think Neymar's move to PSG had some unclear financial undertones as well but that's not the case here. I don't think they would go to the extent of slapping sanctions that would take City back to the dark ages. It would really destroy the club and that's not what EPL might want for their biggest club.

I've always criticized the way clubs are punished, but I don't know if the club owners ever learn their lesson.

The players present in time of those crime were being committed are all guilty of the charge, so any punishment that is to be given to the Manchester City as a club is meant to affect them also, because they are also involved in the act, for example you as a player normally you wage is supposed to be £100k per week and you were sweet talked to tell the public it's £70k so it will look like the team can afford you and you actually wanted to play for the team, isn't that an accomplished to the crime? So they should face what ever that comes their way.

This is the reason why Manchester city should face other punishments even though it means banning them from taking part in the English Premier League for some season but they should not be stripped of their trophies.

A ban to Manchester city will discourage the other teams from breaking the rules but this ban will further send a message to all the clubs who has been breaking different financial fair play cause they want to sign a particular player the truth will start coming out cause other teams will be investigated and if they are found guilty they will be made to face the same punishment that will be given to Manchester city.

History will not be rewritten cause the players who won medals with club has taken their medals if they finally strip Manchester city of their trophies then they can only change the number of trophies they won but the medals that was given to the players will not be returned.

For integrity of the game, its important to give strict punishment to anyone who breaks the law. If you keep on sparing teams based on the criteria that its one of top team and has signed top players of the world then it won't good for EPL in the long run. Man City has appealed against the guilty verdict and in next few days we will see outcome of this appeal. No one knows what punishment will be given to Man City in case they were not able to defend themselves. Its not a good time for the Man City players, management and their fans.
